Overall great bike November 23, 2007

The ProForm U100 is my first exercise bike. I love the crystal blue display and training modes. The seat is a tad bit stiff on long rides, but still tolerable. It uses 4 D batteries to run the system and the fan which can get expensive changing them out. I like the fan, but it could be a little more powerful. The bike is well made with the exception of some plastic areas. It serves it purpose well. I can say that my wife and I get a great work out with the bike. I love the manual ride mode and the trainer modes will challenge you. I ride on 2-3 resist and can't wait to get up to resist 4. The price is just right! The setup and installation is really simple, less than 90 minutes.

I've bought several exercise equipment items from Sears (all Pro Form) & was very happy with my purchases until now. I'm very disappointed with this particular model. The seat is extremely uncomfortable (don't think I could tolerate much more than 20-30mins) & being 5"3" there doesn't seem to be a suitable height at which to set it. All the way down seems too low yet the first setting is too high. Set-up wasn't a problem however I ran into major problems with the computer/program panel. When I'd turn up the resistance there would be no change at all then 1-2 mins later it would kick in so much that I could barely turn the pedals. Also it read my heart rate as being in the mid-high 200s. I'm an RN so feel quite competant at checking my pulse which was running in the 120s (the same as my other exercise equipment would read). I'm returning this item & will choose a different model.

    Awful Product December 18, 2007
    via Sears.com
    By KJBee of Waterford, MI

I needed a new exercise bike after my old Weslo Pursuit 650 died after 14 years of use. I picked up the bike on a Wednesday, I liked the floor model and the features like the cooling fan and the different settings. I got it home and first thing out of the box and the cupholder is broken in half. Not too much of a worry since I had bought the extended service plan so I could call and get another one. But as I put it together I noticed that nothing fit up correctly and it had poor fit and finish. The final straw was when I pedaled it and a clunking/popping noise was coming from the inside. I took is back apart the same night and returned it to the store on Friday. Bought a Weslo Pursuit 250 (which happened to go on sale that night) instead and couldn't be happier.

    4 D-Cells Required December 12, 2007
    via Sears.com
    By GC123456 of Ohio

I just bought this bike on sale. Assembly required about 30 minutes and was straightforward, however, in addition to the small included wrench, you will need a medium phillips screwdriver as well as a small open-end wrench to install the pedals. To this day, Sear's website states that the bike is "Fully assembled". I was disappointed when I discovered the thing is powered by 4 D-cell batteries (not included). How cheap can you get? I had to rob my flashlights to power the bike up. I'll probably get some rechargeable's later. Bike performance is acceptable. Very quiet operation. Ten resistance levels. Digital display keeps track of heart rate, calories, speed, distance. Also, includes a handful of programs that I probably will never use. Bottom Line: A relatively inexpensive exercise bike that enables YOU to get the job done.

Great deal for a magnetic resist bike December 12, 2007
    via Sears.com
    By Bonk of Edmonds, WA

I wanted an affordable magnetic resistance bike and this turned out to be a great one at $200 on sale. Some features dont work too well like the heartrate monitor but for an inexpensive magnetic resistance bike it works great. Thanks Sears!!!!
