    Happy with my choice! May 27, 2008

    I have recently purchased my Proform bike after researching them for about a month. Being a novice, I didn't want to spend a whole lot of money, but I didn't want the cheapest one out there, either. I actually went to Sears with the intention of buying the Schwinn model priced about 150.00 higher than this one, but honestly once I got there, I felt most comfortable with my Proform model. Not to say the other one isn't a great bike also, but for the money, I got a really comfortable bike, super easy to navigate the programs, it turns on when you start and shuts off automatically when you are done. It is a very quiet running machine and was easy to put together. I also love that it acts as a fold-down weight bench and has the total body workout prompts - it actually talks you through them! ( I didn't even know it was going to come with hand weights and work-out charts) I received a lot more than I bargained for, and I am very happy with my choice. I am proud to say I will actually USE this piece of equipment!! I also purchased the 2 year parts and labor plan for only 29.99 and was told that I can even get preventative maintainence with it - just a check-up for my bike! I've been on it everyday and so have my two daughters, 20 & 12. We all love this machine!

    A Serious Problem On Proform Bike XP 100 R January 06, 2008

    The Proform XP Exercises Bike XP 100 R has a serious flaw. To change the distance of the seat to the peddles, you loosen a knob and slide the seat back or forward on a bar. Then you tighten the knob to fix the distance. However, no one I know can tighten the knob enough by hand to keep the seat from sliding back while peddling. The makers would have done better to provide a positive fix on the bar, such as evenly space holes. My sister-in-law uses a large nut cracker to tighten and loosen the knob. We use channel pliers. But you should be aware if you buy this item that some assistance will probably be needed to tighten the knob enough so that the seat doesn't slide back while peddling.

    This bike exceeded my expectations, our whole family uses it. Only thing I don't like about it is the seat is not comfortable when using for long periods of time. I just use a pillow now and I can ride as long as I want!

    Worked fine for 8 months then some electronic wiring broke and fell down into the wheel and wrapped around the hub. Now nothing works. I need to do some looking on the Internet to find out where to get it repaired under warranty. I'll call Sears first. This is not a good sign for the bike.

    I love to use the ProForm XP Exercise Bike because it gets my legs going with the petaling every workout time. Do you think? I have been at the Gyms that has exercise bikes for people to use and when ever you get tire, drink ice cold water when your done. It's a best responsibility. Yoy can keep track on your burned calories and miles you went and minutes you been on the exercise bike.
