    Great bike, but buy an AC adapter. March 23, 2011

    No AC adapter, devours batteries

    My wife and I bought this bike a month ago, and each of us has used it about 2-3 times per week. We installed new batteries the night we put it together. We got about 10 hours of use out of 4 Energizer D-cells, which is probably about right, but still seems kinda lousy. She ordered the AC adapter today. I'm wondering why there isn't an ON/OFF switch on the bike, or why the bike doesn't come with the AC adapter in the box.

    The courses are challenging enough and the bike runs quietly. We haven't used the games much, and the speakers aren't that great (but we put the bike in the same room as my stereo, so no biggie). We like getting in shape and this is a great bike for doing so. I'm 5'10" and she's 5'7" -- the seat adjusts and we can ride properly. The heart monitor doesn't really work, but I've yet to find a bike with an accurate heart monitor.

    I'd just recommend getting an AC adapter rather than using batteries, and I'd recommend a different seat -- this one can get a bit uncomfortable after about 10 minutes. Other than that, we're satisfied and would recommend this bike at this price point.

    Four years ago i was diagnosed with Amyloidosis, a rare and dangerous disease.  In order to stay in shape, i purchased and used several types of Proform items; a treadmill, an elliptical trainer, this bike and free weights.  According to my doctors, if I had not been in the physical condition I was in, I would not have survived the treatment for the disease which included stem-cell transplant and chemotherapy.
