    Nice TV, some defects August 09, 2008

    Love the TV while it's working. I bought it just before the Superbowl (Go GIANTS) 3 months later main board crashed. Took 2 months to repair (delay in parts shipment, whatever that means) is working great now (knock on wood!) I am hearing the popping & cracking sounds every so often, hope it's nothing bad... Great TV for it's value though...

    Inverter fried in 858 Days - fire hazard - cheap chinese junk! June 30, 2010

    Proscan = JUNK from China!  Don't buy this brand or you will be sorry.  Look how many negative reviews they have by going to google and typing in proscan sucks!  Pages and pages!  Industry standards for LCD Tv's are presently between 60,000 and 100,000 viewing hours.  At six hours per day, that means a new LCD should last between 4.5 and 7.5 years from the date of purchase.  Mine lasted 2.3 years and almost started a fire!

    China is not known for its ability to manufacture quality electronics, unlike Japan, Taiwan, and Korea.  Proscan is now owned by Oncorp (an American company), but nothing about the products they produce is American.  The entire product is manufactured in China with cheap chinese components. 

    IF YOU BUY A PROSCAN - I PROMISE YOU THAT YOU WILL REGRET IT!  DON'T DO IT.  Let these American companies that push cheap, poorly crafted products know that we are sick of paying for an American name and getting Chinese JUNK!  If you agree - send me an email to the following - proscan.tvs.suck at the google

    Value for Money,Design,Picture Quality

    It has it's quirks, but after 20 months it has worked perfectly. The HD picture is much better than my mom's Sony and better than my 45 inch Panasonic.

    It could use more flex in the menu, pretty simple. You get used to the "no signal" flash between channel changes, but it would be nice to not have it. Many complain of popping noises, but i use surround sound and keep the TV's volume of so i hear nothing. I couldn't even tell you if it did it or not.

    Hey it could die tomarrow, i dunno. All i know is so far i have gotten a ton of compliments on the picture...

    I would not buy this item again or even take it if it were given to me!  The tv died only after owning it 10 months.  It made all kinds of cracking noises and popping noises while it was on.  The one thing I'm upset most about is that it died in the end of April and we are still waiting on Sears to help resolve our problem.  Their customer service hasn't been that great either!  Apparently they were aware that there is a problem with Proscan and it took them 2 visits from a repairman to say "YES, your tv is dead".  Since the manufacturer warranty is still in effect I think Sears would like to wash their hands of us.  But I am being persistent and not letting that happen!  Just beware of your purchase!

    Easy to hookup,Easy to Use

    My husband bought this tv while I was out of town 5 months ago.  I didn't really want it but it grew on me.  Then 2 days ago it just stopped working.  Nothing.  Thankfully he bought the 2 year service warranty, or we would still be paying for a tv that is a piece & of no use!
