The clear glass lets you see at a glance what's inside, and the stackability factor helps you neatly store dried pasta, cereal, and other items on your shelf. When you're ready to reheat those leftovers, bring to room temperature then warm in the oven or microwave. Pyrex glass is nonporous, so it won't stain or absorb food odors. And, unlike plastic containers, glass won't emit harmful chemicals during microwave use. This 14-piece storage set consists of seven round glass bowls: one large seven-cup; two medium-size four-cup; and four handy two-cup (great for lunches). Each has its own seal-tight, plastic lid.     I love these glass storage containers! Even better than the last ones I purchased because the lids are colored so when you grab for a lid you can easily tell them apart! Only complaint is that I wished they stacked easier.

    I wanted to stop using plastic storage / serve ware because of what I read about cooking in plastic containers. I purchased these to replace the plastic we were using. We love this storage set. We can store and reheat leftovers, prepare food such as salads and desserts, use to take food to school or work, etc. We are actually planning to purchase another set.

    Description was incorrect

    We purchased the Pyrex 14 Piece Set, after wanting to get away from plastic for the environment and our health. The containers were packed well and I was able to pick them up at the local Sears. The tops seem to fit well and like all pyrex items I own already they appear to be sturdy and of good quality.

    I was tempted to rate this as 4 stars because there was an error in the description. Honestly, in my opinion and for the reason I bought the set (actually two of them) it isn't a negative.

    *** The description should have the set contains: 1: 7-cup round dish, 2: 4-cup round dishes, 2: 2-cup round dishes, 2: 1-cup round dishes. All have matching lids.***
