    OK, I knew after reading the other reviews that the sound was an issue, so we got a $100 sound bar at Sears that delivers great audio for the price. But the picture was what sold me on this. We compared it to everything in the same price range, and it came out on top easily. I honestly beleieve that for this price you cannot buy a better 46 inch LCD, and I did a ton of research before buying. The only problem is that all we watch now are stations that broadcast in HD. It doesn't seem to matter what's on... you just can't take your eyes off of it. Football, Food Network, Movies... it's all awesome.

    Bad Tv February 11, 2009

    Picked up the 550 on 1/9 on superbowl sunday it started to act up by randomly shutting off. It continued to get worse with the occasional green screen of death. Service tech decided to replace everything. Hopefully this will fix it. If not Sears is getting me a new tv and it wont be a samsung. When it was working had a great picture with so so sound.

    I had been thinking of a LCD televison for sometime. Checking with consumer reports led me to this purchase...I have not been disappointed. Did some shopping around and made my purchase from Sears... I believe I did get a good price and the quality has been great...

    I love this television. The picture is wonderful and so wonderful that I kept the tv even after I listened to it the first time. I can't imagine SAMSUNG making a unit with one of the absolute worst speaker system ever found on a television. However...the picture makes up for it! I will forever listen to the sound through my audio system.
