    The Samsung 7.1 Channel Blu-Ray has many free wi-fi extras September 07, 2010

    The Samsung 7.1 Channel Blu-Ray player was our first venture into the Blu-Ray technology. Knowing that our wireless internet connection was located in a different part of the house than where we would be using the Blu-Ray player, we knew that we needed  a built in wi-fi to meet our needs. This product met those expectations and more. The clarity and high definition are outstanding, and we were pleased to see all the additional options that are available to us that we were not aware of at the time of purchase. Google mapping, weather and several free games to name a few.

    The installation was easier than we thought it would be and the touch-screen like buttons on the front are a nice addition. We already had a Samsung flat screen TV and we were pleased to see how the remote automatically syncronized with our television.

    This unit does not like the AT&T 2Wire Wireless Router June 09, 2010

    <p style="outline-width: 0px; outline-style: initial; outline-color: initial; font-size: 12px; vertical-align: baseline; background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: transparent; color: #000000; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: normal; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial; padding: 0px; margin: 0px; border: 0px initial initial;">I purchased the BD-C6500 on 5/31/10 because I wanted a good Blu-Ray player that would auto connect to my Samsung LCD TV and spent a little more so I could connect to the internet and watch Netflix via the wireless setup. I can generally figure out most wireless applications and seldom have to call customer service, but at this time I'm on my third call and still having the problem. After jumping through several hoops I've been able to connect to my AT&T DSL 2Wire Wireless modem but the connection is unstable and I often get kicked off after less than an hour of viewing. Each time I attempt to reconnect (it works about 50 % of the time) I have to go through the entire setup program in order to get it to connect. The 50% of the time it doesn't connect it tells me I've got a problem with my  "gateway ping". I've since connected to my wireless router but couldn't figure out how to resolve the "gateway ping" issue. I called Samsung and they ended up recommending that I send the unit to them for testing; I then insisted on second level support; they too were unable to solve the issue and said it was an issue with my wireless router and said that they could not assist me with router issues. My laptop and my Ipod Touch both connect perfectly to my router but my Samsung Blu-Ray player doesn't. I've read a review by someone else who was having the same issue with the same type of equipment some I'm going to do a little more reading about "gateway ping" issues and Samsung products. If I can't resolve the issue after a few more tries, I'm going to return the item to Sears; I'm not going to ship the item back to Samsung for testing like they requested. Thus far I've got about 7 hours tied up with this item. It would recommend the player if you don't have a AT&T 2Wire Wireless Router, if you do have one, expect issues and no help from Samsung.

    I bought this for our family for Christmas and was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to hook up and use. We love the quality of the picture and sound. The menus are definitely user friendly. I definitely would recommend this to all my friends. It is much better than the Emerson I bought at a competitors store.

    I love this blu-ray player. Between the Netflix and Pandora it's always being used. It also shows regular DVD's and BluRay disks beautifully. It goes so well with our Samsung LED tv.

    Pros:
    Physical appearance,Blu-Ray is great,When it connects to the net its great.

    This player loads real fast and having 3D capability is a plus.Internet connection is a snap and it comes with many apps.
