Great treadmill - fully meets my expectations
I tested out several other brands/models before ultimately settling on this one. Based on a few negative reviews below and elsewhere of the C900 Pro, I was somewhat hesitant about setup and durability. As noted in multiple reviews by others, setup is a somewhat long process. However, the instructions are very clear and the setup was very smooth. After 2 - 3 hours, my treadmill was up and running. I have now had the treadmill for almost 1 month. I have had zero problems with the treadmill and I have been genuinely pleased with my purchase. I particularly like the cushioning which has reduced joint pain from jogging (as compared to some minor joint pain I have felt jogging on asphalt previously). The fan is well positioned to keep me cool while I jog. I appreciate the built-in speakers with ample volume as I can hook them up to my iPhone and avoid having headphones on while I jog. I'm not sure how accurate the heart rate monitor is, but at a minimum it gives me a feel for where my heart rate generally is. I have noticed that the belt speed tends to naturally speed up a little at the full 15% incline. It is not overly noticeable while jogging, but I have found it hard to maintain a walking speed at the 15% incline. However, by reducing the incline to 12%, I have noticed no such problems and have been able to maintain a walking speed at the 12% incline. I have really liked this treadmill. It has fully met my expectations and I would recommend it to my family and friends who are looking for a treadmill in the $1,000 range. I rated it 4 stars (instead of 5) because of the limited time I have owned it.

Time is limited
This is a nice treadmill compared to my last one. Good price, but beware that time shuts off at 100 minutes (1 hour 40 minutes) so if you intend to use it longer, find something else. Customer service was no help they said this is how their machines are built. It is not publicized, so I was running and all of a sudden the built stopped, which was dangerous. They said that maybe ifit might help it because it is a different program, but that's $99 plus 10/month after the first year. So if you are planning to use this for longer distance training beware.

Great treadmill!

I bought this treadmill six months ago and have averaged about 2 miles a day. I weighed 280 pounds when I started and reliability was a concern I had going into my purchase. I have had zero issues. The treadmill is very quiet. The shock absorber system has really helped in avoiding shin splints that I had encountered on hard surfaces. All features continue to work, but one improvement that could be made is the ability to adjust the fan direction. Between diet and the treadmill I have lost over 75 lbs. I have been very pleased with this purchase and highly recommend it.

warning, do not buy this machine.

We bought the C900 pro a few months ago. The day I put it together, it didn't work. None of the controls on the panel worked. It wouldn't even light up. NT sent me a new control panel and everything worked fine for 2 months. Today, I came home from work and only 3 of the buttons work on the panel and the pulse sensors on the handles work, but the incline and speed buttons on the handles don't. It seems that the control panel is messed up again, but it is after hours at NT. Don't be a fool like me. Buy another brand. NT has a reputable name, but crappy products.

WELL Worth Your Money

I am a treadmill enthusiast and literally wore out my fourteen year-old treadmill. I researched extensively before making my decision on which treadmill to purchase. The C900 Pro was my choice. Features are outstanding and I especially like the speed & incline hand controls as well as the wireless heart monitor. I read where some reviewers didn't like the fan. For me, the fan is perfect and I appreciate being able to choose low or high. The other factor that I really like about this treadmill is my workout. Considering that I am doing the same amount of time and incline between my old treadmill and this new treadmill (speed technology being different between the two but I'm going as fast as I was before), I am getting a much better calorie burn. "Awesome" is an understatement. I highly recommend this treadmill and want to add one more tidbit of information: My fourteen year-old treadmill was made by THIS company. I don't know about you but for me..THAT is quality craftsmanship

I would recommend this product to a friend.

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!

After reviewing countless treadmills from other brands, this unit well suited my budget. It has everything I need. Family and friends are WOW'd when they see it because is a solid machine compared to what they own. It's very heavy so if you're putting it on a second level like I did, have plenty of help. It took some time to assemble but once it's completed, you're ready to work. I'm able to work out without disturbing a sleeping baby in the next room. It's quiet and efficient. From delivery to the maiden run, everything involved with this machine was flawless. Assembly instructions were well written and detailed. NordicTrack has just made a customer for life out of me!!!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Poor quality, breaks often

I bought the treadmill in Mar '12. It was great at first & then the problems started. The "speed up" control stopped working in July '12. I had it replaced. It stopped working again in September. I then noticed that the incline kept slipping & wouldn't stay at the level the control panel said it was at. In Jan '13 a bolt came out of the incline frame while I was running causing the right front of the platform to crash down to the ground. A repair guy came out and replaced the screw. In Feb '13 the treadmill stopped working due to a problem with the incline. Icon/UTS sent out a new console thinking this was the problem but didn't send instructions on how to replace the console & did NOT send a tech. ICON/UTS finally sent a tech in March. The tech found that the bolt holding the incline motor to the incline frame had sheered in half causing the problem. The tech had parts ordered but wasn't able to install the parts until April. Today the incline platform collapsed AGAIN. DONT BUY!

Great machine.

I've had this machine for about a year. It is used frequently by me (230lbs) and my wife (much less!). It has taken the abuse of my large body beating on it fine, the springs take the fatigue out of my knees. It may feel a little bouncy at first but you do get used to it. The speakers are great, beats wearing stupid headphones whenworking out!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Let's Try This Again...

Perhaps Sears didn't like my first review (not sure why). The "set a goal" function did not work from the start. Also, the control panel would randomly malfunction. 5 calls to Icon Customer Service. Failed software update; New control panel; and service to install new panel. Icon's service was reasonable with staff having varying degrees of expertise. Somtimes it took a request to speak directly with a supervisor to problem solve things. 3-stars. Had the C900 worked out of the box, I would have certainly rated 5-stars. I will absolutely return to Sears for other fitness purchases. Evan, the salesperson, was polite, knowledgeable, and helpful with our purchase. I certainly don't blame Sears for the problem. 5-star. Overall experience: 2-stars.

Doesn't last......

Had this for 14 months...incline quick working. They sent one part....no good. They sent a new motor.....no good. Now they are sending a control panel..... We'll see... Meanwhile I haven't been able to use my treadmill in over a month. Customer service is lacking..... on the third part I really expected them to send a tech...but no. By the time I'm done swapping parts I''ll be the tech!!! I won't buy Nordic again.

PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING!!!!!

If you are looking for a good treadmill that has a long running surface, a good number of built in workouts, a cushioned running surface, a built in fan, and a backlit display, I would recommend this treadmill. If you are interested in the IFIT part of it, BEWARE! IFIT stands for "IF IT" works. The module has issues connecting thus not always automatically sending your workouts to your profile online. Street view is a joke that does not exist. According to their claims, while you are working out, you can view a street view of the terrain. What you see is an ariel map of where you are running. The program has a lot of bugs that need to be fixed before this becomes a useful part of the treadmill. Having said all of this, I am still happy with purchasing the treadmill. I bought the IFIT module as well which includes the one year membership, but I doubt I will renew it after my membership expires. Because the treadmill has everything I need,I foresee using it for many years without IFIT.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

I would recommend this item

I purchased this treadmill 12/3 from sears online (because it was $100 cheaper than in the store) We picked it up on 12/8. When we got it home the end of the track was damaged. Had to wait til Monday to call. I phoned norditrack they said they would ship out the piece and I should receive in 7 to 10 business days. We continued to put the treadmill together only to find out the computer screen was not working. Another call placed and they said they would ship me a new one. They apologized for the problems. They were very nice. In about a week and a half we received both items; put it together once again. I have been using the treadmill everyday for walking one mile. I am a 47 year old female who is about 150 lbs over weight so I wanted something that I could start out slow with. This is perfect. I would recommend it to a beginner. kk

Beware if you count calories

I just had my C900 Pro delivery and set-up (which is advisable) as it took the pros a little over an hour to set it up. Machine seems well made, sturdy, and solid. Quiet BUT, IF YOU WANT A MACHINE TO KEEP ACCURATE COUNT OF YOUR CALORIES, PASS ON THIS ONE! There is no way to enter your weight before using any of the programs. A waste, if you like to track calories! If I could return, I would.

I will never buy NordicTrack Again

I had this treadmill delivered and assembled by Sears. Two hours later I decided to use it for the first time and I didn't even make it 10 minutes when the power just shut off. The manual tells you to check the reset button by the power cord, wait 5 minutes, and reset it, but this didn't work. Even if it did, I don't want a treadmill that I'm going to have to reset after 10 minutes. Sears offered to send a technician out to look at it but I told them to just come and pick it up. I'll probably try the Sole F63 which was the other treadmill that I was looking at.

Worse than I thought

There were a lot of large blemishes and marks all over the treadmill as if it got banged around in the warehouse - a white palm-size print of white on black was the worst, and several scuffed corners and scratches on the front hood - the console was fine however. I suppose I could have disassembled it and sent it back but since everything works, and it took me 5 hours to put it together, I'm keeping it. Customer service didn't care about the defects and marks when I let them know by phone and emails with pictures, but it was easy to talk to someone on the phone and I got them to send out a Tech for loud squeaking sounds when I run (thought I could avoid this but no). Oh, and it wasn't as quiet overall as I would have liked. I wouldn't buy it again if I had to do it over again.

Didn't even work coming out of the box.

Would not recommend this treadmill. I have tried 2 attempts with this treadmill. Followed directions correctly twice to put together and both treadmills did not work. The console on the first one would not work and only 1 button would work on the entire machine. Sears exchanged the old one for the new one. Now the second one will not work at all. Nothing comes on the screen at all now. Tried the troubleshooting in the manual with no affect and called Nordictrack but they had no answers other than the console needed to be replaced. I would recommend delivery and a good warranty so you won't have to take this machine back and forth yourself multiple time. I understand that mistakes happen and things break but this is not acceptable for a machine that is $1500 list price.

Nordic Track C900 Pro

Had it for two weeks. I and everyone else who has seen it are amazed how nice and professional it is. Fan, speakers, QUIET, great response time. Makes you want to get on it. Buy a cheap treadmill and you won't use it. Plus I got in on sale for $899 one night. That's a deal, especially since the C900 was the same price?? Highly recommend it. My insulin has been cut more than half in two weeks

I would recommend this product to a friend.

nordic track c 900 pro treadmill

Extremely difficult to assemble, screws are cheaply made and break, some pieces do not line up, and some screws are not even long enough for their job. I am very unhappy, I thought I was purchasing a quality piece of equipment, but ended up being diappointed with this Nordic Track. And Sears customer service and extended warranty plan were less than helpful. Save your money!

C 900 Pro

I love this treadmill! I have had it for 2 weeks now and use it for an hour to 90 minutes every day. I have had no problems with it. I did pay $99 to have it delivered and assembled which was way worth it to me. Chest strap works great. I don't think the fan makes too much noise. I use the treadmill in the living room so I can watch TV and my boyfriend says it is very quiet and doesn't bother him at all. This is a great buy!

overall this is a nice treadmill

I found out even before I bought this unit the heart rate monitor will not register your heartrate when anything is on including the cooling fan while using the hand grips only, but works great with the supplied chest monitor strap, all the machines set up at  Sears work this way.

When the delivery men set it up and tried it out everthing worked great, but the fan to me was kinda noisy and didn't move much air, they told me all of them are the same from the factory sure enough I went back to  Sears and he was right. I've learned to live with it once you crank the speed up you don't notice it anyway.

The Bride & Me are in our Sixties and can tell we're getting stronger & stronger by using it for 30 to 45 mintues every other day if not everday. We love it, the doctor is going to be proud.

Good treadmill so far

Just picked this up last night.  While it is definitely a beast I managed to get it into my basement, part by part, with the help of my 14 year old son.  Assembly took about two hours and wasn't very complicated.  While we've only used it a couple of times so far we really like it.  This does seem to be a quality piece of equipment.
