Loads of Family Fun!
We purchased this table for my son's graduation party. It was too big to fit into the back of my Astro van but it fit in the bed of my son's pick up truck. Once home my older son put it together by himself. It is very heavy! My advice would be to have a friend help you put it together. The kids had a great time and we have enjoyed it as a family. My only advice would be to check the condition of the corners before you get it home as ours were a little damaged. Sears gave us discount so that "eased" the disappointment slightly. But for the money and family time together, it is worth it!

Check it before leaving the store
Just bought this item and took it home. We carried it to the basement and when we opened the box, the table had a small gash it in. The black rubber piece that runs along the edge of the table underneath was broke in a couple of places. I would recommend you open the box and check the item out before leaving the store. We did not take it back because we live a distance to the store as well as it was heavy to carry down a flight of stairs and through a tight doorway.

Sportcraft Intrepid Table Tennis Table, so difficult to assemble

I purchased this table tennis table as a Christmas gift for my kids.  I could not install the metal frames that connect inner legs, so I contacted the Sportcraft customer service.  The metal frames have two bars on top and bottom.  I was told the orientation of the metal frame is critical because the bottom bar is about half inch longer than the top bar.  Why is this important information not included in the instructions?  I tried again and found out the metal frames are not aligned with pre-drilled holes on the inner legs.  What a crap!  I did not want to disappoint my kids on Christmas.  Otherwise, I would have returned this garbage.  I finally installed the metal frames with scratches on all inner legs and the metal frames are out of shape because I hammered the frames to fit.

table is flimsy and after putting the two tops together they do not alighn and one side is higher than the next. additionaly when you put up one side to play solo there is a 12 " gap between the upright side and the hortizantal side making it very diff icult to play solo without you ball constantly hitting the ground. this is not what the picture shows. if it was not a tremendous hassel I would be taking this back to sears for a refund. junk, junk and junk.

Good buy

I put the table together by myself in about 2 hours, though it would have been ALOT easier with someone else. i think it's a pretty solid table for the price. A disclaimer: I didn't buy this table to play table tennis and don't really care about the play surface. I play alot of war games like Axis & allies anniversary edition and world in flames that require a TON of table real estate. So the dollar to sq. ft. ratio on this table was perfect for me :)

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Ping pong table Intrepid 2pc.

Our experience purchasing the Ping Pong table was awesome. It was the evening of the blizzard and the two men from Sears loaded the box on the roof top of our van.We reached home safe.My husband started assembling the table and found many parts that were defective. The linkage tube with the stopper was shipped out of shape.I am surprised it passed the inspection. We e-mailed the Sportscraft company. They shipped the wrong parts the first time and finally after the second attempt we had the right parts. We were shocked how different they were from the original thing that cam e with the order. The customer service from the company was okay but we hope others get lucky and get the right parts the first time.

A Very Good Value

I ordered the Sportcraft Intrepid 2pc Table Tennis Table online for my 11 year old daughter, sight unseen based upon the reviews from other Sears customers and its reasonable price. Ordering, delivery and assembly went like clock-work. I couldn't have been more pleased. For the price, I think that that the table is an excellent value. It's sturdy (rarely wobbles and then, only upon forceful impact from an adult), folds up easily for storage (or for solo play on the backboard) and can be rolled smoothly from place to place. My 11 year old is able to easily open up the table, close it, position it for playing the backboard and push it to where we store it, all by herself. Even though the table is not intended to be used outside, we store it on our deck underneath the overhang of our roof, covered with a Butterfly brand table tennis cover. So far, so good but it's winter in Florida and that means low humidity/warping unlikely. By summer, the table may well warp or show other signs of damage as a result of its being stored outside in Florida's humid and rainy weather, notwithstanding the cover that protects it and the fact that it's stored under the roof overhang. However, we're forced to take that chance because we do not have another storage option. I'm very pleased with my purchase and would recommend to anyone looking for a great value on a ping pong table for recreational players.

We bought this as a Christmas gift for our son and put it together on Christmas eve. It took about a half an hour and it was simple. The tabe is big so if you don't have it delivered plan on using a pick up truck, does not fit in a minivan, too wide. It is a quality table and our family loves it.

Good

We ordered the table for Christmas. It was stored uponpened at the in-laws garage. They wanted to see the table and opened the corner of the box and saw busted table ends. We had to take the table back and order another. The table was somewhat difficult to assembly and I would suggest having another person to hold pieces during parts of the assembly. Not the most sturdy but for the price a GREAT gift. We're playing it as much as the kids. I'm glad we bought it.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

family fun

My husband put this together on Christmas Eve. It took 3 hours and went together fairly easily. You do need to be pretty strong if you are going to attempt it by yourself. We were pleased that he did not run into any problems putting it together. We are all enjoying the table. It seems sturdy and is easy to fold up and move out of the way.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

I purchased this product as a Christmas gift for my husband. It is not as sturdy as I had expected. It did not take an incredible amount of time to assemble - which was great. I was a little upset because the table had onviously been returned and then resold to me because someone had attempted to put it together and drilled holes in the underside of the table. But all in all the scratched and wear and tear are all on the underside and I thought it was too much trouble to return it so I just dealt with it.

It's a good buy

Bought it on sale and everyone in the family loves it. Just make sure you follow the instructions to assemble it. Two things to have in mind: 1) it comes in a very large box and it is heavy and 2) make sure the corners are not damaged. The table is made of particle board and it is very easy to damage the corners close to the net. The corners close to the player have a protective plastic around them so they can withstand harsh treatment, but not the ones close to the net. This is what we saw when we opened the box at home. I had to repair the corner close to the net with wood paste and wood adhesive after I put it together. Other than that it's a great table and we enjoy it a lot.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

sportscraft prism 2pc table tennis

I really like how it folds up and stores but it was a little hard to put together and I also wish it was a little more sterdy. It feels like it could colapse if too much pressure were put on the table. We have been playing alot since we got it and we really do love it!! I am very glad that we purchased it.

worth it good deal

got this for xmas 2008 definately worth it -onsale- with me picking it up. first one I went ot pick up the box corners were damaged so I had them open it and found that the corners or the table were damaged. it is only particle board so the corners will get damaged if the talbe is dropped on it's corner. It is very heavy so it is easy to drop it. 2nd time a charm had the perfect box opened to view table in exc. cond. assembly took about 45 mins-probably because we were exhausted from doing the air hockey table(which I recommend). construction is very good. The legs are made to fold so the have movement once assembled. It is important to to screw the bracket for the one leg that needs it on each table piece into the premarked holes on the underside of the table. If you don't follow the prmarked holes for the 6 screws you will have the two table sides not line up. this maybe where the other reviewers have had a problem. the premarked holes are had to see so look closely for them. After full assembly I went under the table and took a screwgun to the centerscrew in each of the leg brackets to help stabilize the table. It is made well for what it is and we are having alot of fun with it. tabletop is level everything lines up, net is tight and it was a great deal.kids and adults are enjoying this one.

Average Table

The table is as described. Instructions were easy to follow and the fit was 'ok'. However, my table came from the factory with two INSIDE legs on one half of the table. Because of this the stop thumbscrews for the player side leg could not be installed. Also, the table was lopsided (the legs designed for casters are shorter). I could have fabricated a leg extension and drilled new mount holes for the thumbscrews. But rigging up a NEW product to work as purchased is not my idea of a good table. I returned this product for a refund. This is likely atypical and very rare. But enough to turn me off to this brand. I will look into Stiga.

Sportcraft Intrepid 2 pc Table

This table was a good quality and very easy to assemble. We bought it for our daughter's family, living in another state and had it delivered to their nearby Sears store. Everything about the transaction, ordering, delivery, and pick up by my son-in-law went smoothly. They are very happy with their table.

So Far, So Good

I got the table a few weeks ago, and haven't had much time to play on it yet, but I will say that it looks exactly like it does on the website, it's very easy to assemble, and it's light enough and easy enough for me to fold up or unfold by myself (and I'm not very strong!). I'm no ping-pong expert, but I did play two games on it and it seemed just as good as any other table I've ever played on. I keep it outdoors with a cover, and it's held up against rain and sun. I would recommend it, as it was pretty inexpensive yet seems to be of good quality

Intelligent design

My daughter and I assembled the table in under an hour, and we were very impressed by how well-designed the table is, and how clear the instructions for assembly were. All parts were numbered, and the instructions were explicit and mistake-proof. (Also, in correct English language). The method for folding up the table when not in use is simple and ingenious. The table surface is excellent, too.

average product

The quality of the table is average. The assembly of the table is not difficult. I am a very handy person but I was not able to fit all the parts together. A gap of about half inch remains between the two halves of the table. I was forced to disconnect one of the side brackets to make the table fit. I will have to build a new bracket myself.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
