Garbage
We bought two of these last christmas for both our boys...the pin sheared in the engine on one of them..When we called the company to ask what could be done they said the entire engine needed replaced and that they would not provide neither the parts or repairs...It basically lasted less than 2 weeks..the other one had the bearing in the rear tire blow completely out...that happend in less than a month...The brakes barley worked no matter how many times they were adjusted....the manufacture doesnt stand behind the product..Quality of this product is poor...Performance is poor..And customer service is non existant...800 dollars down the drain for 2 weeks of fun...Should have taken the boys on vacation for a week..At least they could have had some good memories other than tears....

Disapointed

Bought one on May 11 for my son. After two days (about 4 hours of riding) back tire wore through, had to replace. Last week, after about 20 hours in total, brakes no longer work. Called Motovox and was told not covered by warranty. Additionally overall flimsy workmanship. Would not buy again!

Great bike!

We bought this for our 11 year old. It is a great bike for the price. I like that it goes somewhat fast but not too fast where I feel he could get seriously hurt. He seems to enjoy it. He weighs in the 90's so when going up step inclines you notice a drop in speed but overall good item. Have had the item almost 2 years and haven't had a problem with it.

great gift

I bought 1 motovox and 1 doodle bug for my two boys. Now my oldest is 11 and my youngest is 9. My 11 year old boy favorite color is red so I gave hime the baja and my youngest favorite is black so I gave him the motovox. After the first day I had to switch the bikes because the motovox is way faster than the baja. My youngest was upset but I had to give it to his older brother and give him the slower baja. I think I will end up buying another motovox this year to make things a little even and its only 299 you can't beat that price anywhere.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

COOL LITTLE BIKE GREAT VALUE FOR YOUR MONEY

Just bought one of these this past sat and bike is great. It is made for kids but the adults had more fun with it than the kids did so far. The box it came in took more time to open then the time it took to put on the handle bars. It comes fully assembled and other than the handlebars and gas it is ready to go. It is well made and lots of fun and very comfortable for big adults with its big seat and adjustable handlebars. It is a blast if you just want to putt putt around but it does get up some speed.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Motovox Mini Bike is a great deal!

We got this bike for my 11 year old son for Christmas and its been great so far. It was mostly assembled and ready to gas up and ride within an hour. It goes very fast for the price and is holding up very well so far. Adults can ride it too. Its the best deal out there for the price. Usually for that price all you get is battery operated toys that need to be charged. This motor has to be started with a pull cord, but its not too hard and you never have to worry about charging it up. Just make sure you have gas available. It doesn't go thru gas too bad either. Its quieter than a lawnmower too.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

A Great Value!

I purchaced 3 mini bikes for  9,12,and 14 year old boys. The bikes were easy to assemble. I had a small issue with one. I called customer servie. I recieved instruction on how to fix problem and quickly had it fixed( without waiting on the phone). Christmas day my boys rode the bikes and had a blast. The youngest boy hit ice on the ground and ran into the fence and bent the front fork. I called customer service  the day after Christmas and to my surprise they were there. I ordered the fork . The parts were reasonable and I recieved them by Friday. Motovox also has all the maintance videos for their products on their website. Im sure I will have issues, but with great customer service (That are in the USA and spoke english ) and employees that believe in their product, I will buy motovox when I upgrade.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Save your money and DO NOT buy!

I purchased the Motovox for my 11yr old son for Christmas. One of the biggest problem I had was I couldn't return it to Sears soon enough due to them being closed for Christmas, did the next day though. The first gasing it up, it leaked, don't know how it stopped, but it did. Starting it was difficult EVERY time. After my son rode it for about an hour the gas started pouring out again and I had to drain the gas out. The brake handlle also broke off the handle bar?????? The bike has no power to get up a slightly steep hill, my son had to walk it up while giving it full gas. On dirt/grass very slow.....to get better power, you need to ride it on a FLAT surface or pavement.......going down hill I was surprised how it picked up speed....lol. Only positive note, Sears took the bike back without question for a full refund.....that's why I shop Sears.

Good starter bike!

Got one of these for my 7 year old.  Right away, brake lever was broken out of the box.  They are made of pot metal so they don't hold up real well.  Called customer service and a new was sent immediately.  Part arrived and was a beeyatch getting on (and I am an ASE mechanic) due to tight tolerances and a bolt that was a bit short.  Once one, set the bike on a stand, tightened cables, lubed cables and such, and fired it up.  This little bike runs a champ.  Not sure what the other complaints are about running, but as long as you know where the choke is, no problems.  It can even carry my 6'3" 280 body around the yard.  Son was riding and crashed day after Christmas and the brake handle broke again.  So far, this appears to be the weak point!  Called Motovox, they sent me another brake handle for free and I paid for a second to have one on the shelf ($29.99 dellivered is one tenth the price of the bike).  Got back from vacation 5 days after ordering and parts were here.  I will design a bracket to protect the new one.  I would have given 5 stars, but the cheap design of the brake lever makes it four.  Otherwise, I would buy again!  And not sure why everyone is having problems with Motovox customer support.  Everytime I called, they were very responsive and quick to solve my problems.  This bike was on sale for only $290, so you should expect some things to go wrong since you are paying only a tenth of the price for a similiar Honda model.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Christmas Gift Gone Sour for Grandkids

We bought 2 mini bikes for our grandsons for Christmas.    Grandpa put bikes together which wasn't hard and Grandpa knows bikes since he rides a Harley himself.   Boys got on the bike road round for about 20 mins and the chain came off both of the bikes at the same time.  (WHAT)  Grandpa put the chain back on but the mini bikes, but the bikes start but  will not move.

We'll call the help desk number today Tuesday, Dec 27, 2011 and hope we get great customer service.

BOYS ARE DISappointed and so are we.

Lee

Motovox Mini Bike

Don't waste your money!

Purchased for my 9 yr old as a Christmas gift. When we got it, it fired right up, idled for a short time and then died. I repeated this process again and again with the same results each time.

I tried contacting Motovox directly, but could only get voicemail. Left 3 messages and have still not heard from them. It has now been 2 days. I also sent email to Motovox and have not received a response.

Finally called Sears and was told that I could bring it back and get my money back. Sears was awesome. I have always bought from Sears and will continue to do so.

Bottom line.....don't buy Motovox brand. Spend a little more money and get a name brand item. Motovox sells a CHEAP product and their customer service (or lack of) is the worst I have ever seen!

Poor quality, not much better service.

Got the mini bike assembled and my son put a total of three hours on it. In that time we adjusted the chain 4 times before realizing the motor mounts were loose. After that he got another half hour in before the rear wheel bearings came out of it. Called Motovox service center and they said the must have a bad batch of bearings as I was not the first to call. So in about a week they said I will receive a new set of bearings and I get to install them myself.....Thank you very much and Merry Christmas.

The Motovox MBX10 Mini Bike is a good starter bike for kids.

I purchased the Motovox MBX10 (http://motovox.com/products/?p=MBX10) for my 11 year old son as an alternative to the Baja Motorsports Doodlebug (http://www.bajamotorsports.net/categories/minibikes/products/DB30_doodle-bug-30). My intent was for him to learn and become comfortable with a motorized mini bike before moving up to something faster and more powerful. With 79.5cc, don't expect to win at the drag strip (actually, it is the gearing that could be improved). But, it is fast enough for a kid. Heck, I even use it to grab the mail 1/4 mile down the road from my home. I weigh 185 lbs and it will move me just fine down the road. Unpacking requires some patience simply because you have several bolts to loosen to remove from the steel cage surrounding the mini bike. Assembly is simple. Just attach the handlebars, fill with gas and go! I did have an issue with performance with just under an hour of use. The mini bike didn?t want to idle and would stall. Also, it would stall after giving it gas and releasing the throttle. I am happy to report that customer service was pretty darn good. They authorized me to take the bike to a local service center. The bike required minor tweaking to the throttle assembly, carburetor, tightened the chain, etc. The good news is that nothing was seriously wrong! Customer service promptly paid the local service center over the phone with a credit card and I was able to pick it up and take it home. The bottom line is that for the money, it is a good value. To purchase a kit online and assemble will cost you well over $600. This mini bike is ready to go straight out of the box. I would have loved to have this as a kid. I am satisfied overall and bet my son will have a blast for quite some time!

I would recommend this product to a friend.
