Great mixer
We recently decided to purchase this mixer. We love the 5 qt and 3 qt bowls. We have made breads, cookies and icings. Everything works great 400 watt motor is very strong. The one thing I do not like about this mixer is, its very loud when mixing, it is very ear piercing. I wish I had not purchased this just for that reason.

Kenmore Mixer

Bought this as a gift for my daughter and she had mention she always wanted a kitchenaid but when she used the Kenmore, she was happy and couldn't stop thanking me. I'm glad I made the purchase!

Mixer is fine, attachments not so much

I purchased the mixer in Oct of 2013 because of the warranty and the stronger motor. Whomever makes the attachments needs to be replaced as a source. Sears replaced the flat beater at 21/2 months and the new one is also losing it's paint, flakes off into the dough. The bowls are difficult to remove if I don't lubricate the bottom before starting. I believe the KA attachments work with this mixer so I am HOPING this time they will furnish a KA beater, not a Kenmore.

I'm now a baker!!

I read all the reviews I could before buying and the one thing I read a lot was that the mixer was loud. I didn't think so at all. I've made dozens of cookies with heavy dough recipes and it worked fantastic. I'd highly recommend, especially at this great price.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Good mixer

Decided to upgrade when my old stand mixer (passed down from my mom) finally died. Chose Kenmore over Kitchen Aide to save some money. Mixes will although I do find it doesn't always get the very bottom of the bowl so I'm forced to stop it, lift the beater, scrape the bowl and continue. Not a huge deal. It is VERY loud. I do like the light feature though, not a necessity unless you cook in the dark but it's a neat perk.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Kenmore mixer- love it

My hubby got me this mixer a year and a half a go at Christmas and I LOVE it!! Having 2 different size bowls is amazing and the light on it is helpful because you can get a good look at what you are working with. I am now looking to expand and get some of the additional attachments.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Noisy

Mixer motor is very loud (ear piercing is an apt description). Paint rubbed off the ****, so now I don't know what level I am at when I turn it. Self-scraping blade does not scrape well, even though I adjusted it to the max with the screw under the head. I have to scrape often, which is difficult even with the head in the upright position. I do like the light.

BETTER than Kitchen Aid

This little beauty does everything my Mom's Kitchen Aid mixer can, plus it'll lock into both positions and it has a light, so you can actually see what's going on in the bowl! Not to mention it comes with two different size bowls, and the larger one has a handle.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

works very well

Had concerns about the head moving up and down during kneading, but learned from a kitchen aid salesperson that this is normal, even the KA artisan and cheaper does this. Bought a KA attachment (juicer) and it works great. Only 4 stars because trying to get advise from Sears/Kenmore was impossible.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Completely happy

This mixer exceeded my expectations. I love making bread now. Making 3 loaves at a time definitely takes it to the max (6 qt would probably be better for 3 loaves) but the end result has been incredible. My husband loves my mixer too! One tip I would give bread makers is to use the dough hook for kneading and let it work until all the dough is pulled off the side of the bowl. That's what I've done and have gotten excellent results. I love it that the low speed does not throw flour out of the bowl. The noise level seems normal to me. The price point and warranty are a huge bonus.

Kenmore Elite Stand Mixer:economically a better choice

I had been saving my reward points to indulge myself in purchasing a Kitchenaide mixer,After seeing this mixer at the store and reading other reviews here-- I chose the Elite for several reasons- Initial Price(much lower than Kitchenaide),Worklight(love that feature!),Comes with 3 different attatchments and 2 sizes of bowls,Power--400 watt---and again I just have to say Price!!! Other reviews have said that it is loud---to be frank I couldn't hear much over my hand mixer--so ease of work definitely out weighs that concern for me.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Ran great but then started leaking oil

I bought the Kenmore Elite stand mixer with a gift card I got from my wedding.  I've been wanting a Kitchenaid stand mixer for a long time.  I found this online and read a lot of reviews.  There was a little bit of everything, most of the negative reviews were about leaking oil.  But I'm cheap and decided to buy the kenmore, b/c it was cheaper but higher wattage motor than the basic to middle range kitchenaid, came with 2 different size bowls and bonus of the LED light shining into the bowl.  The 1st package I bought I opened it immediately to use that night.  There was oil leaking on the plastic wrapping sitting below the mixer attachment.  I cleaned it up and used it anyway because I needed it.  It didn't leak oil during the process, but it had a smell of slight burning. (like the 1st time you use your toaster in a long time).  I returned it a few days later back to sears and decided to give it one more chance.  Sears was very good about the exchange.  Opened that one and no oil leaking! (July 2011) I used it quite a bit, for cookies, cakes, potatoes, cheesecakes...More often arount the recent holidays.  I'd say around 9 or 10/11 every time I got it out it had a little oil leaking from I think a little screw right above where you'd attach the wisk or paddle.  I'd wipe it away and use it and it didn't leak oil by the time i'd finished.  I'd put it away and by the time i got it out again few days to a week or more it would have the small amount of oil leaking.  It still worked fine, sounded good and didn't smell but I didn't want to take the risk years down the road the motor burning up.  So the other day (1/2/12) I returned it back to sears.  They still didn't have a problem returning it 6 months later.  I contemplated buying another kenmore but I tried twice.  So i'm buying the kitchenaid pro 6 qt 600 series off sears website.  I was afraid to go with the lower watts with the artisan mixer.  (600 series has 575 vs kenmore's 400)

I loved using the Kenmore mixer though.  Didn't have any issues with power.  Other reviewers said it was very loud.  I did not think it was very loud at all for being a mixer.  Seemed to mix all my goodies with out any struggle.   Not that I wouldn't recommend this to anyone else but for sure keep your reciept.  Maybe I just had 2 duds in a row.

Great Mixer - Seems Loud

Like other users, I have noticed that mine is quite loud.  I haven't had (or even heard) another stand mixer since in my mother's kitchen probably 15-20 yrs ago.  I'm pretty sure she had a kitchen-aid and I'm not sure of the model.  I remember it being loud, but this just seems overly so.

I had some friends over this past weekend to make cookie dough and bake xmas cookies.  They all said "yah, that's not overly loud, you have a big strong motor in that one" (referring to the 400 watt being better than the 250's out there).

The mixer works great, I have no other issues... I can handle the noise as I just cranked up the christmas music!  :-)  I will say that the mixer seemed to power through the cookie dough with no issues at all. At the end, when the dough is at it's thickest, there were some really small audible "tone" changes in the motor hum, but they were really short and it just sounded like any motor under a load.

If I had one complaint, I used the wire whip to whip the first parts of the frosting, and all the butter and stuff just got stuck in the center.  I guess we didn't soften it enough?  I'm going to assume user error at this point, because the blade attachment works great.

Lastly, I have seen a "Sideswipe" attachment on ******... I'm serously considering that one because it does seem as if there's a reasonbly large amount of material that stays on the sides... and if anyone wonders, i followed the maual to adjust the height using the screw.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

i love it

I love my new mixer, I really have no other stand mixer to compare it to though. My mother and grandmother have a kitchen aid and they tell me that mine works as well as theirs. The only thing that kept me from giving it a 5 star rating is that it sounds like it should be going a lot faster than it is. From the sound of the motor running you would think that the beater would be moving way faster than it does. The high setting moves a lot slower than the hand beater that I am used to. Im not quite sure if mine is defective or if it is just that way. In an case I still love it!! My mother says that the speed dial setting is better on mine than hers...haha

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Kenmore 5-quart stand mixer

I have always wanted a stand mixer and I found it in this Kenmore. I have not bought any of the attachments for it yet but am looking foward to it. It is well built, heavy duty and love the LED light. Also came with two mixing bowls. Cuts the mixing time way down, a must have.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
