I am enjoying my desk, but once we got it together one of the drawers was off, but it works. 1 crack was on one of the inner walls but no big deal. Other than that I am enjoying it.

Home Office Cozy

We moved into our new home two years ago and with a third bedroom designated as home office space, we needed (wanted) to quickly set up our work space and take care of business. It was going to be too expensive to buy solid hard wood office furniture and too impractical to move it through the home and set it in place.

We needed a pair of "His & Her's matching computer work stations and wanted them to fit in each corner of the room. We located the Bush Vantage computer corner desk and decided that it fit our budget and would be easily transported in my pick-up truck and placed in our home office space. The savings found in a purchase of furniture like this comes from the fact that it's a "build it yourself kit" and has "no" solid wood. The boxes were heavy as expected and that was just fine since family muscles were available at a moments notice when we got home.

If you are scared or squeamish when you see several bags of nuts and bolts, screws and washers, and twisting screw drivers for an hour or more sounds a bit annoying, then this kit-type furniture build may not be for you! I on the other hand enjoy using my tools and building things, so I'm up for the challenge!

As any "boxed" furniture kit I've ever built, the wood is rarely ever, (almost never) real solid wood and this Bush Vantage kit is typical of what I've assembled before. Pressed fiber-wood chips with a micro-millimeter of plastic veneer with simulated wood grain that is easy to scratch. I make my purchases of this type of furniture knowing full well that the piece is not designed to last for ever. I buy the furniture because it is cheap and fits my immediate need pronto.

With both units built and resting in place, it soon came to a point where one had to be moved. This is where the unit will fail and something can break. The desk is not designed to slide across a carpet and it is fragile if lifted from one end alone. This is what I did, and dislodged a screw, breaking a small chunk of wood. I finally got the desk into position at last, and I was a bit frustrated at my own decision to move it alone. There it will stay, it's solid as a can be, keyboard tray slides, drawer's glide easy, everything fits. They have small scratches and nik's after only two years, but that does not matter we still get work done. This is a desk that often gets compliments!

Better in person than in picture

I bought the Bush Vantage Corner desk online and a was pleased when the delivery was sooner than the date originally specified.  However, upon unpacking it, I found that the most important piece (the dest top) had a 16 inch scratch on it.  But other than that, it was all there as specified.

The directions were easy to understand, and were very explicit.  Whoever wrote them, knew what they were doing.  They take you through them step by step and are extremely accurate.

So now, I have my desk and am really pleased with the way it looks, with the exception of the scratch.  The door, drawers and sliding shelf all work perfectly.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
