Great ratchet! Competes with Snap On's Dual F80
This is a great ratchet. I have this 3/8" ratchet as well as the 1/2" premium one. I also have the Snap On F80 3/8" and S80A 1/2" as well. This premium Craftsman ratchet competes with the Snap On ratchets. There are some differences between them though. As far as handle design, the Craftsman premium handle is much better than the Snap On one. The feel of the handle and the leverage you can put on the handle makes it better than the Snap On's, The 84 tooth used in the Craftsman ratchets is the finest tooth design ever sold by Sears. The Snap On's have 80 teeth. The Snap On's, despite having 4 less teeth, are still smoother than the Craftsman. The Craftsman premium ratchets are a great ratchet and with the lifetime warranty can come in handy if something ever goes wrong. The Snap On's have a lifetime warranty as well, but unless you're a shop that has the truck guy come by on a regular basis, you'd be better off with this Craftsman ratchet! Sears is 7 minutes away.

Too Bad

The feel of this ratchet is great, really great. However, the ratchet will lock up. Sears will replace it with a new ratchet off the shelf but it requires a trip to the store. I'm on my fourth one.

Best Ratchet Made

I picked up a 3/8 premium ratchet yesterday, have used about every ratchet out there including truck brands. With out any question this is the finest ratchet made. The finish is perfect, there were no blemishes, it reminded me of a high end German car in quality. The action was smooth as a Swiss watch, It felt perfect. Most important, I have large hands The feel was like someone made it just for me. COO is USA.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Junk, Junk and more Junk

Was "operational" for 4-5 months however the connection between Ratchet Drive and head became loose after only a few weeks. Craftsman refused to replace under their so-called "lifetime" warranty, no reason given why they would not replace. This was the first Craftsman tool I ever purchased, I will never purchase another one, I would strongly encourage anyone who requires a always performing, and a true no questions replacement warranty to use Snap-on (my personal choice) or Mac as they last forever, and provided you don't misuse them they last forever. If it breaks just request a replacement kit or talk to your rep and arrives a new one (or the new version if no longer being made). I should note "red" Snap-on are made in the U.S.A. they have a cheep brand that is not but all true Snap-on are made in the U.S.A. unlike Craftsman or Kobalt

constantly jambs

I think that for the Premium price that they charge for this Ratchet. They should at least give you a quality items the ratchet constantly jambs and you have to fiddle with it to get it working again. I had to take apart sometimes and reassemble at times to get working again. I have had teardrop ratchet in the past they seem to work flawlessly. I really am disappointed with this Premium Grade Drive Ratchet.

Premium 3/8 inch ratchet

This is a GREAT ratchet for the money, I got it on sale for less than $50. The handle is a little longer for more leverage and the gear ratio is low so it takes less turns to turn a fastener. I've used it in tight areas where there's little room to turn a ratchet, with this tool all you need is a little room to turn the fastener because of the gear ratio. No regrets in buying this.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great tool and USA made

I love this ratchet. The wide handle feels great and doesn't dig into your hands when you're pulling hard on something. The handle is longer than the standard 3/8 ratchets so you get more leverage than a standard ratchet. The fine teeth have a purr that let you know you are using a quality tool. I hope Craftsman can see that there is a market for upgraded quality from their (now China made) basic tools.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Didn't last a month...

Was using item to hold a nut inplace while I turned it out with another wrench the unit seized up and the nuts holding the unit came out the wrench completely fell apart. DO NOT BUY this socket wrench my teardrop Craftsman wrench has been going strong for years now with constant abuse. Its not worth the money or the time overall Failure of a product.

Broke after only six months....

Broke in the middle of a project, after only six months in the toolbox. Sad. The price you pay for this series of ratchets you would expect more quality. They're the last Craftsman ratchets built in the USA. Completely jammed. Had to revert to my old tools to complete the work. There was a time when Craftsman stood for quality. No more. I'll be going to S&K or KD from now on.

very poorly designed

this ratchet is very disappointing. i am a mechanic i use snap on and matco ratchets all day everyday and i beat on them. i bought this ratchet thinking it would be nice. what a joke. the first one i had lasted about three days it locked up. mind you i only use this ratchet for light duty tasks i didnt expect to get a true professional grade ratchet from craftsman. after the first one locked up i warrentied it got another same thing it lasted for about 3 uses and it locked up. after warrentying it again i used it to wind back up a spare on a toyota sienna. it locked up again. i have been through three so far honestly these are a total waste of money steer clear of these ratchets the engineering is the problem. if it didnt lock up all the time it would be good but ive been through three and all three broke immediatly after first use. garbage. if you want a professional ratchet, buy a professional brand.period.

Best Ratchet I've Ever Owned

This is better than any other ratchet I've handled and I have handled a lot! I reach for this one first and will for a very long time. Made in USA!!!!!, great finish, the finest ratcheting mechanism, extra length for more torque, and very reasonably priced. What more could you ask for! I hope Craftsman continues to make more premium tools.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

This is a great ratchet

These ratchets are a fantastic tool!! Nice thin profile head, long handle for more leverage, and fine tooth action for those tight spaces. It is very comfortable to use, the handle really feels good in your hand. One thing I found was not to over lube these ratchets, or they will auto reverse. Just a light oil in them and they work great. Would love to see a flex head version of this tool.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Awesome Ratchet

This is a nice ratchet - basically a Matco at a better price. This is also the last ratchet Sears sells that is still made in the USA. Get it while you can before these are farmed out to some low-cost country too...

Top notch

Awesome ratchet. Great balance. Well built. Made in USA. I'd say as good as, if not better, than the truck brands (Snap-On, etc). This is what Sears should be making more of, not cheap imported tools with craftsman stickers on them. Only complaint is that I haven't seen these in any of the stores yet, only online.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

This is the ratchet Craftsman should be making ALL the time!!

This ratchet is the best one I have EVER owned. The handle is great and easy to hold. The ratchet is perfect for both Do-It-Yourselfers and Professionals. The Mechanism is smooth and looks to be sealed very well so that NO dust or dirt can get into the ratchet. I will hold on to this ratchet for many years to come..

Best ratchet out there for the money!

These Premium ratchets are awesome! I am liking the price first of all, second the handle length seems perfect being not to long but not short whatsoever, and last but not least the 84tooth gear system. I believe this ratchet competes with all the Professional Brand ratchets out there just backed by Craftsmans no questions warranty. I wish they would offer padded Handle, flex, and stubby type Premium ratchets and stock these in the store. I am going to end this saying don't hesitate to buy this its worth the money !

I would recommend this product to a friend.
