I purchased this polisher because it was 7in. rather than 6in.PLEASE keep in mind this is a POLISHER not a buffer this tool is intended to apply and remove polishes, not to remove swirls and defects. However dried caked on wax will be hard to remove with any polisher !! best on paint sealers and polish. I use mine daily and love it !!! VERY easy to hold.

Accessories not available!
Although this item is easy to use and affordable, you cannot find the applicator accessories anywhere including Sears despite the fact that they come with the item. The applicator and terry bonnets are good for only 1 use which means so is your polisher. It's absurd that Sears does not sell replacements and cannot recommend where to purchase them. It makes no absolutely no sense.

7in. buffer

Not a bad product. Needs heavy weight pads to take polish off vehicle. I applied polish, buffed with this polisher and then hand wiped with terry towel to make sure polish was completely off. The light pads that came with this polish is to light and I prefer the heavy wool like pads for easy wax removal. Not bad, ease of use! Hope this helps!!! Does save some time.

Hard Working Buffer

I have been detailing my cars and some friends for about 5 years now, and I always did polishing and waxing by hand. I finally decided to give one of these a try. I don't know how I did this all by hand before. This buffer is a really good product and reduces time for me. There is plenty of power, and the size is easy to control with one hand. I cannot complain at all about this buffer, especially for $40. Hopefully this lasts a while.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

No so much.

I guess to apply wax to vehicle or boat would be ok. I was looking for more spinning action and just could not get it. I understand how to buff and you don't have to have much pressure but just did not work for me and the application I was looking for. I took it back.

Recommendation for 7-inch buffer

Selected the 7-inch buffer as I felt it would work better for our vehicles (Civic and Terrain). The unit is easy to handle without extra weight and my first electric buffer.

Nice product for the price

I was concerned about the unit because of the price but it is strong and does a good job of buffing and polishing. I did read the reviews and someone said it bogged down under pressure. Either they haven't a clue how to use the unit or got a bad one. Applied ample pressure and it worked well. I have had this unit about a week.

GREAT VALUE

Like this a lot. Does what it is advertised to do. I like the 7 inch better than the 10 inch I had years ago because it is easier to use and can be controlled easily with one hand. Only rub is that the wax application pad needs to be replaced after every use, unlike the buffing pads which are washable and reusable

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Not enough power

Sorry to report that this buffer/polisher was not up to the task. I bought it to polish my fiberglass boat, but if any pressure was applied greater than the weight of the polisher, it stopped rotating and vibrated only. Using its own weight was not adequate to remove the polish.

Completed the job nicely

Bought this buffer for detailing my boat. Have never done this before, but it came out nicely.use the aplicater bonnet followed by the terry cloth bonnet to buff to a shine. Then I used the lambswool bonnet to leave the mirror like sheen to the gelcoat. Overall, very satisfied. I had no issues with the cord being in the way as some others say. I found it comfortable to work with.

Craftsman 7 in Buffer/Polisher

The Craftsman Buffer/Polisher has been in use by my family for nearly 3 yeas and we use it to polish not only 4 cars but also a dutchman Camper. We use this unit for a up to 3 hours with only a few minutes of down time and it keeps on running. The only minor concern is it seems to come unplugged rather easiy but we have resolved that by tieing a knot in the cords too hold them together and it now works even better as it does not come disconnected. It would be nice if addition application clothes were part of the base unit as you find yourselve having to wash them to clean them up. This unit has saved us great amounts of time and makes the vehicle and/or camper look just great.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Craftsman 7"buffer is awesome at removing scuff marks on floors

My contractor had a buffer and I bought this one to buff granite countertops, and stone or wood floors. It is quiet and powerful. I like using it almost daily for spot touch ups. It is a good quality for a low price after craftsman discounts and free shipping from sears. The only con is finding the craftsman buffer bonnets, however, other brands work well.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Piece of crap - better off doing it with a drill

I had high hopes for this little machine at $40.00 on the shelf. First off, it only comes with an applicator bonnet (crap - throw it away) and one terry cloth buffer/polish bonnet. (Hardly usable)

Take my advice and save your $40.00 on buying a good wheel to use on your drill or spend the extra money and get a quality product. This little POS has really ruined the craftsman name for me. I don't think I'll buy another one of their products again.

It's Brother-Proof

Gave one of these to my brother for buffing a soda-blasted aluminum boat. Looks like the Craftsman model 10721 7" corded buffer did a great job, he didn't break it and had no complaints so I went back to Sears and bought the Craftsman 10" 2800 rpm "Buffer in a Bucket" for myself. I'll let you know.

Craftsman 7" orbital buffer is lightweight w/3800 rpm

Been using orbital buffers for 25 years.  Currently own 6/7/9/10/11 inch buffers.  This one caught my eye with the 3800 rpm, most have 2400-2800 rpm.  Have been doing autos and aircraft for a long time.   Very pleased with the quality, handle system, balance and effectiveness of buffers.

Not a bad buffer but 7 "pads are impossible to find.

This is not a bad little buffer and it did the job for me, putting a nice shine on the family minivan and sedan, but I'm sure a professional detailer would find some things lacking here, like variable speeds and a bit more umph to the motor.  I found it comfortable to use with the perimeter handle, but the short cord that must be mated to an extension cord does create some real problems dangling and getting in the way.  I tried other reviewers' suggestions about looping the cord around my neck, but only found that uncomfortable especially when changing buffer positions.  Often times, the connection would just rub the surface of the car, and occasionally get snagged on things like the roof luggage carrier.  By far, the worst problem is the fact that 7 inch replacement buffer pads are about impossible to find.  You can find 5, 6, 8, 9, 10 inch pads all over the place, from auto supply houses to detailing shops, but I defy you to find much of anything for a 7 inch buffer/polisher.  Not even Sears carries them.  The ones Sears includes in the box are pretty worthless too.  The applicator bonnet can only be used once, and the terry cloth polishing one disintegrated on its first washing. I will be returning my buffer and getting one that uses a size pad more readily available.

Simple Good Buffer Required, Simple Good Buffer Received

I received this buffer as a Christmas gift. I already owned a couple year old "Brand X" 10 inch single speed orbital buffer so I didn't really need a new one, but I decided to keep this buffer nonetheless. Out of  curiousity I wanted to compare the "new" buffer to the "old" buffer. Side by side the buffers both yielded similar results regarding the outcome of use, they made two family members' red cars look shiny and good. However, this buffer had three features my old 10 incher didn't have that I quickly came to appreciate.

First, is the perimeter handle system. I like it, its ergo, and it works. My old buffer had the standard 3 and 9 o'clock positioned handles which is what I was used to and admittedly worked fine. While it may not seem like a big deal, the ability to hold the buffer at a 12 and 6 o'clock position is especially comfortable when leaning over the hood of my larger, lifted vehicle. The second feature I like is the hook and loop (velcro) strip at the end of the buffer's cord. Run your extension cord through it and it keeps the male/female plugs from seperating. Another handy feature lacking in the old buffer. The last feature I really came to appreciate is unseen, but it is definitley felt. In my opinion the counterweight system did/does vibrate much less than my old 10" buffer which saves me from having tingly hands. While my old buffer was by no means a multi speed pro-grade buffer, it is nice to have these three features in similarly priced buffers. I also found the 7" size to be easier to use on both my larger vehicle and the family's other smaller sized cars. Needless to say the 10" buffer was given to a friend.

The only caveats I have is that the Stub Length Cord seems to be the perfect length to thump around on whatever it is I'm buffing. To avoid this I sling the cord over my shoulder and this minor irritant is managed easily. The provided blue applicator bonnet provided is useless. Do yourself a favor and get yourself a foam applicator bonnet to compliment the others you will surely be buying. Unlike the other reviewer, I had no problem finding a nice variety of 7" bonnets at my local Manny, Moe, and Jack.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Good Price Good Product

Just purchased this and used it on my full sized truck for the first time. Although my paint is getting worse then I would have liked, this buffer did and excellent job of applying and removing wax. If you are expecting to buff out scratches with this unit, don't. That is not what it was intended to do. If you are looking for a cheap buffer to save your arm then buy this product. I also had a hard time finding 7" bonnets so I bought some 9". They worked fine as long as you leave the buffer in contact with the vehicles surface.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

a decent buffer

i recieve this for an xmas gift. Overall it does and works pretty good. I think it needs a quicker motor with varibable speed control. like everyone said the power cord is a pain to deal with but I put it over my shoulder and it seems to stay out of the way. It does a far better job rather then buffing or applying wax by hand. The buffer is rather light weight and easy to use. I recomend you use a wax/polish that is easy to remove. For the price it is definetly worth it. Make sure you use the right bonnets. use the terry bonnet to remove the first coat. then use the micro fiber bonnet to polish, then use the synthetic fuzzy for a high gloss shine. the bonnets are pricey. i shopped around and found 2-3 packs for the same price.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
