I use cordless drill/drivers a lot for home projects. Bought this as a gift and used it helping with some remodeling at the receiver's house. We like the fast charge that lasts a long time, the relatively small size for working in tight spaces, and the variable speed.
I borrowed this drill from my brother-in-law so that I could build a tree house for my kids. I had a cordless drill, but he told me his was better and I should try his craftsman. He was right. 20 lbs worth of screws of all shapes and sizes went into the project, and this drill didn't miss a beat. It charges incredibly quickly, too, compared to my other drill. It was so handy, I was tempted to keep it and be that lousy brother-in-law! I have FINALLY returned it to him, and I plan on buying this exact drill for my own personal use. For the do-it-yourself homeowner, this is a very good drill for the money. For what it's worth, he did get a case of beer out of the deal.

I needed to purchase a replacement battery for the same drill whic I purchased 3 years ago. The cost of a new drill with the battery was only $10 more than what I would have paid only for the battery. The drill is very good and durable. After 3 years of use, I have no complaints.
I've had this for around 5 years now and it's still running well. My only complaint is the battery charger. I went through two battery chargers. They just stopped working suddenly. Over all good capable drill with lots of torque. Battery life should improve with the new lithium polymer ones the now offer. Chargers are ****.
I have been wanting a good cordless impact for bit and seen this deal at sears and decided it was time to buy it. I first went n to read reviews and seen that the 5 stars by far out weighed all the negatives which were very few. I went to sears picked it up came home and as soon as I got out of my car I decided to test it. The battery needed charged but I was in luck because I had a 19.2 volt cordless drill with same battery and it was fully charged so I put it in and went to my lugnuts and it did exactly what it claimed to do in its description. I went around everyone of my tires and loosed then tightened em all up and still seem to have good charge left on battery. I am super glad I bought this because the one thing I hate is breaking lugnuts and putting on tires wrenching manually and now I got his monster its going to make it so much easier and less strain on my body. I have no regrets on this purchase!!

Works much better than my previous drill. Only takes an hour to charge and able to complete multiple projects over several weeks without having to charge again. Got it at a great price.
I have had this drill for almost two years, but for most of that time I was a renter and only did very light duty things like hanging pictures etc. We recently became homeowners and for the first time I attempted to drive some lag screws to hang a small ladder into our crawl space. Long story short, even with pre-drilling the holes this drill could not even drive in ONE screw. The motor stopped spinning and just began to smoke. If you only drill through dri-wall, or use very small bits or screws I am sure this drill is fine. If you want to actually use it for a project, don't bother. Very disappointed in this drill and the fact that it only has a 1 year motor warrantee.
A million uses for this drill. I find we use it nearly every day. Powerful enough to complete the job and portable because you don't have to tote your cords around with you. Highly recommend this drill and at least one extra battery !
I purchased my first C3 19.2 volt drill over 14 years ago (I think). After 2 home refurbs and building a new home this drill never failed. It did, however, finally give up the ghost. I looked at several cordless drills but based on my experience with Craftsman tools the choice was easy. Buy another Craftsman. The fact that the basic design of this drill has changed little is a testament to the quality of it's original design.

Overall works well but battery life is shorter than comparable units. This unit should come with a second battery. While installing a metal roof for a local chuch home repair project home my battery gave up well before the other guys on the job. Good thing I purchased a back-up battery!! I installed my second battery while the other guys lasted with one.
Hands down, this is the absolute worst drill I have ever had. The drill has no power, at all. The battery starts to die after two minutes of drilling EASY stuff. I got a new battery, thinking that was the problem. Not so. This drill has no power whatsoever, even on the hammer setting. I can't even drill through 1/8" steel, and I am using top of the line bits. Give me a break. With that being said, I am a lifelong Craftsman hand tool guy. I make a living climbing and building cellular towers, and need tools that can handle my line of work; Craftsman has upheld their standard that I expect. However, I am very disappointed in their line of power tools. Sad to say, but my next drill with be a Dewalt.
