Craftsman 6 pc. Router Bit Set

I was working on a project at the house and I somehow misplaced my cove bit so I headed over to Sears to see what they had available. I got to the router bits and saw the single packaged units and selected the one I wanted. I went to the cashier and saw this set sitting on display. I looked them over and thought that if I spent the same money on a single bit that I'd probably get home and find it and not need two.

With that thought I rolled the dice and grabbed this set instead since I was getting six fairly common bits and since I never seem to put things back where they belong, why not have these as spares?

Sure enough, I got home and there was the bit I needed! Since I had these I figured I'd give them a try and I was surprised at how cleanly they cut with no chatter or burning. Yes, new bits should cut like that but I plan to come back and update this later!

it's okay.... . but
This was my first router bit set - and I can't really complain. I didn't know what I was buying when I bought it. The set includes - cove bit - round over bit - 1/2" trim bit - 1/2" straight - 1/4" straight - 1/2" dovetail The most useful bit in the set is the round over. It's great for putting an edge on work. A 3/4" trim bit would be a lot more useful for me (cutting from template). . The roundover bit would be more useful if it came with a set of bearings so you can change it to a beading bit. The dovetail bit isn't all that useful without a dovetail jig - and most jigs come with router bits. A better starter set (imo) would be: - rabetting set - 1/4 and 1/2" spirial bit (instead of the straight bits --- spiral bits cut better) - roundover set with interchanging bearings. - 3/4" pattern cutting bit - chamfer bit.

Bits in a box

This was a great router bit set to start out with. I also got it at a great price - more than 50% off!!! It helped me on a project for rounding off some rough edges on a kids playhouse that was catching knees and causing scrapes. Now no more!!

These router bits are great to have whenever routing is necessary. I have routed all of the wood in my entire home and have used Craftsman accessories.

Router newbie

I recently picked up a router without bits. This is the perfect starter kit for a handful of basic uses. It's not a carpenter's dream set, but for the average person it sure meet your needs. The blades are sharp and hold up well.

Good little set of beater bits

I bought these during an online sale. It's a nice little set of useful bits for beating around. I've used two of them so far and they cut pretty nice and seem to have stayed sharp.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Nice little router bit set.

For the quality and price, this handy little router be set can't be beat! I even like the nice little wooden box it comes in. Got in on sale at Sears and I don't regret buying it.

Router Bits

Got two sets of router bits for a present for my boyfriend. They work well, although he didn't need two whole sets.

Good set

Decent set of general bits. Have had a few catches with the 1/2 inch bit but could be from the basic router. Love the carrying case that comes with these though.

Great

Works very well with the Craftsman router. Projects come out very nice and look more expensive than what it actually cost to make. Great ways to personalize things!

Great starter set

This is a great starter set that allows you to cut dados and profile edges. Catch it during a saver day's sale and, for the price, the value can't be beat.

Craftsman 6 piece Router bit set

Great set of bits. It has just the ones I currently need and have done a " top notch " job. If I had the $$s I would have bought a larger. Living on disability as a U.S. Veteran I gotta pinch the pennies. Craftsman lets me do that through the quality of their products and the outstanding Warranty you so seldom see these days !!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

good economical basic bit set

This is an economical basic shapes set of the commonly used bits.  By going slow the bits are durable and do not chip out the edges of the material you are routing.  The storage box keeps them handy and protects them from getting damaged.  A Good Buy

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Perfect starter set.

You can do a limited variety of work with these Craftsman bits.  The ones with bearings follow the side of the board and the others require a guide.  The beading bit can be used on things like the outside perimeter of a tabletop, and the dovetail bit can be used to make drawers if you have a jig.

The perfect gift

I like this set for the router bits that it has which works as a great starter kit for someone interested in taking the first steps into using routers in their woodworking projects.  I personally gave one of these to a friend of mine who was getting a router for his birthday.  This was the perfect small gift which a couple of us split but it allowed us to give him something that he'd use while learning the ins and outs of routing and adding those techniques to his woodworking projects.  This is a great gift to pass on to someone or to give to yourself as you dive into learning how to use a router.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Craftsman 6 pc Router Bit Sets are a bargain

You can do a limited variety of work with these bits.  The ones with bearings follow the side of the board and the others require a guide.  The beading bit can be used on things like the outside perimeter of a tabletop, and the dovetail bit can be used to make drawers if you have a jig.  Keep in mind you need to make sure these specific sizes meet your tastes and requirements of the job.  Otherwise, you'll have to buy more.  The case shows small examples of the shapes each bit will cut.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

I got mixed results from this set. Good ones are more than expected, bad ones are worse than other cheap brand. I used them with a palm router.

Excellent Starter Set

I got these just to have some bits to start my projects with. I will upgrade eventually, but this set was on sale for $19.99 and I figured that I would find no better deal. I used the bead and straight bits this weekend and they both make clean smooth professional cuts.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
