4 Month Review Using It 5 Days A Week
I bought the combo kit 4 months ago and I use it every day at work. I work retail product maintenance and I wanted a small impact drill to carry around in my tool belt. I carry a spare battery in my holster so I don't have to bring the charger to work, two batteries last me all day. I have had no problems so far with the impact drill, batteries or charger. The impact drill is lightweight and fits in my cordless drill holster very well. The impact feature somehow prolongs the life of bits because I have not had to replace the Phillips bit yet. Using a regular cordless drill I would destroy/round-off Phillips bits quickly?? I use the impact drill for drilling holes in 1/8" steel, driving self tapping screws in steel, driving screws in wood and with a speed lock socket adapter & deep sockets I use it on nuts up to 3/4". I can't comment on the 12V drill that came with this kit because I use the impact for everything. I'm very impressed with it so far. Update 6-5-2012: Dropped the drill from 10ft. onto concrete floor and still works fine. Batteries are also still working fine. I still use it 5 days a week.

Good Drill - Poor Charger
Charger failed after about a year of very light use. Sears doesn't appear to carry the charger any more, and a new improved charger is about $40. A store manager who was to contact me about a replacement never called.

Perfect for small jobs

great for a small power tool. The driver has a lot of torque for a small device.

Perfect.

I needed something smaller to keep in the house for light duty projects and these are excellent. I've use them under the car dash and all over the house. The smaller profile is terrific but it still has plent of power and battery life. I rarely use my 19.2 volt anymore.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

One awesome drill with a battery design that is its only flaw

This drill is extremely ergonomic, runs strong and is always the first one I grab to do simple chores, actually any chore. The battery life is phenomenal after being used to NiCads for two long. I thought my Hitachi 18 V Lithium would still be my favorite, bu this is my "goto" now. The only fault is the batteries clip design. Its not strong enough. Its kind alike the supercompact guns that extend the clip out as part of the handle, but they just disengage when you put too much strain on them, and it becomes a frequent occurance after the first. If Craftsman makes the lock-in feature better, this is a perfect product.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

what a weak and low quality drill

the first time I used it, the drill started making nasty grinding noise. I am not talking serious drilling here. It was a 3/8 hole in sheet metal. the drill just gave up the ghost and i returned it for a full refund. Horrible quality.

Lightweight, powerful set...I love it

This set replaced an old 18V cordless drill. Both tools are lightweight and powerful and I had no problem driving in long 2 1/2" wood screws into 2x4s with it. I get many uses out of the battery, which charges very quickly. The only thing I wish this set had was an extra battery.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great combo set!!!

These are great for the price. You cannot beat them. I had been using a set of my buddies that were of a different more expensive name brand and these keep up stride for stride with those. Glad I saved some money and bought from Craftsman.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great combo

Purchased this combo and I use it all the time. Its great around the house work. Impract Drivers does great job, but Drill is a little under power for some jobs around the house. Initially was thinking of purchasing a 18V, but after 2 months of contant using the 12V combp, I dont think I will be buying a 18V system. The battery life for Drill is great, considering its a 12V system.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Best Bang for the Buck

I'm really pleased with the quality of these tools so far. They are light, compact and have the power to tackle most household and woodworking jobs. First thing I did was buy a second battery. That way I could keep working while the first battery charged. So far, I've never needed it. The batteries hold a charge a really long time, even in storage. When you consider that the cost of a big name set like this can cost more then twice as much, you can't get much better then this set.

Awesome Combo Kit

I bought the Craftsman 12 volt Lithium Ion Battery Drill and Impact Combo Kit for my wife. I have several of the Nextec tools, so I was aware of how well they work. My problem was all of ym tools are in my shop and I use them pretty regualrly, but my wife does a lot of work on things in the house and always needed to borrow my shop tools. Normally not a problem, but there were times when we were both needing them at the same time or on bad weather days she woudl decide to work on something in the house and we would have to walk out in the bad weather to the shop (which is not very close). So I purchased this combo kit for the house. Currently we are remodeling a room in our house and have used this combo kit extensively. The impact driver has been perfect driving in 3" wall anchors into the wall studs and hasn't hesitated a single time. The impact driver drives them right in everytime. The drill/driver has been used to do all of our pre-drilling when needed and also sued to install a new ceiling fan and a few light fixtures and to mount some shelving. My wife likes to do alot of re-arranging in the house and she is always using the drill/driver to install stuff around the house. She really likes how long the battery last while she is working and the fact that the battery will hold a charge for a long time when not being used as well. This is a great combo to put these two tools together and they really compliment each other on regular houshold or shop projects. The kit comes with a single charger and a single battery, so I purchased a spare battery, so thst she has a battery for each tool. She has even told her friend about this kit that I bought for her and her friend went and purchased one for her home. I strongly recommend this combo kit for your general needs around the house. They work alot harder for their size than one would think.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
