5pc file set from Craftsman is the way to go.

I work for a fire department. When I realised we needed to clean and sharpen our axes, I thought of only 1 brand, Craftsman.  I went straight to sears to pick up a file set. There were several available. I chose the 5 piece set. What a bargain at 26 dollars. I returned to the fire department and my crew immediatly started working. We sharpened 4 axe heads, repaired 2 of the points on the picks, and used the rasp to strip the 4 handles that day. At the end of the day, I cant even tell this set has been used. It still looks new and I can see that we will be cleaning and sharpening the tools from all the other stations.

The handles made them comfortable to use. The teeth of the file cut the metal like it was hot butter.

I cant say enough good stuff about this set.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Tackle Any Filing Task With Confidence

When your tools are dull they don't perform as they were designed and they are DANGEROUS.

This is why no shop is complete without a good set of files. Sharpening your bits and blades is kind of like brushing your teeth. It isn't a fun task in and of itself, but the result (a bright smile or in this case a fine cut) is certainly worth the investment in time.

I think you will find, as I have, that these files are the best quality available for the price. With the unconditional backing of the famous Craftsman Warranty, how can you possibly go wrong?

Check out my Project on this site for a complete tutorial on How to Sharpen A Saw Blade.

5 Piece steel file set is a must for your shop

The Craftsman 5 - piece premium steel file set has the benefit of quality, durability, life time warranty, & low cost, making this set an valuable asset for the plain weekend hobbiest as well as for the seasoned veteran mechanic. I use my set to sharpen my tools and for sharpening blades and for sharpening my yard tools. Never a dull hoe or axe or or any other yard tools. I also use them to sharpen mower blades. The rat tail is great for removing burrs from tubing & conduit or cut pipe. The rat tail also works very well when you are needing to make your drilled hole a littler larger, if needed. The triangle file is great when needing to trim or flush fit smaller pieces of materails that you may be working on. I truely like the perminent handles on the files, themselves. This makes it easy to hold onto the files while you are working on a project and does not make you get blisters like some other file handles. I use my set a lot during the spring & summer months & they are a year old now and still work just as good as when they were brand new. It is comforting to know that if I do have an issue with my set, that I have a life time warranty to fall back on. I am pleased with my purchase of this premium file set and know that I had spent my money wisely. If you don't have this set, I would recommend that you go get you a set.

Great file set for multiple uses.

I was in dire need of a file set and waited for a coupon after shopping around and finding Sears had exactly what I needed.  I use this set for woodworking and sharpening.  I am certain I will find some more uses in the future.

The Craftsman 5 pc Steel File Set is a great value

This file set is a great value.  I really like the handles because you have a way to get a good grip when working with them.  It would be really great if they included an extra file you could sharpen chainsaw chains with.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Comfortable handles make these files.

I bought this set to use at work. The screw driver handles make these files easy to use and control. The files are of good quality, have lifetime warranty, and I bought them on sale, so they were really an exceptional value. No regrets on this purchase.
