Great tool for working on your classic auto

Being an owner of, and working to restore, a 1966 T-Bird brings some challenges when it comes to removing old screws, nuts, and bolts. As like alot of old things, they are "set" in their ways! To say the least, it is difficult to remove any of these fasteners to change out or repair parts.

I found this Grip-Tite rounded nut / bolt remover product, made by BT&F, at Sears by accident. I purchased it for a reasonable $25.00 and brought it home. Now I have seen (and used) other tools out there at the "dollar" stores for removing rounded and rusted nuts and bolts and they didn't hold up to what they say would do - they cracked or broke and ended up in the scrap metal bucket.

This Grip-Tite product did the trick! I used it four times while removing the bucket seats to have them reupholstered and the sockets worked great!

Leave it to Sears to find a product to compliment their tool line! It even comes with a great storage case to hold them together in my tool chest,

By the way,BT&F warraties the Grip-Tite Super Sickets for Life!

Not for tough job
I purchased hoping to free some seized bolts. Soaked them in penetrant, got a good grip with the socket and as I applied torque the internal mechanism of the socket blew apart. The grip is regulated by a plastic disc, which gave out. Grip was good, so for light duty they are OK.

Don't last long

These seem like they should work great however they have a plastic ring in the middle that is easily breakable. For the money spend a little more and get a better set!

Get the job done!

I am a diesel technician and deal with a lot of older equipment when I run into rounded bolts I just run and grab my griptite super sockets! It makes it just as easy as using a regular socket!

Good tool or rounded Bolts

Very well made tool I am using for the time that the bolt will not fit on a socket. The only trouble I've had is that it hard to get the bolt off after removing it.

What can beat a Craftsman tool?

Nothing can beat a Craftsman tool. These tools do what they're supposed to do. They are made well and last forever. My husband loves the fact that if one breaks, it gets replaced with no hassle.

IT ACTUALLY WORKED

After 2 weeks and many you tube methods to try and get a front hub from a 1998 Tahoe. The bolts heads were rusted round and nothing would get them out.. Bought this and with a little heat they came out!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Grip Tite sockets work

Have only had these sockets a couple of weeks. Used them on frozen brake line fittings and on a lawn mower blade bolt. They did both jobs well and the plastic case is an asset. I'd buy them again, nice to have when needed for the nuts that don't fit any size wrench any more.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

nice addition to toolbox

I used them on corroded exhaust manifold bolts, they grabbed most of the "no size" heads.

the grip tite super sockets rounded bolt remover worked very wel

this socket set worked very well on some old exhaust studs on a truck i was replacing the engine in. i only used one size so far and the only thing i would change is possibly a deep well version for more clearance however these acutly griped very tightly to the rounded nuts even though they only contacted aprox. 3/4 of the surface.the carry case is a nice addition for keeping theese sockets easly assable when needed.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Grip Tite 7 pc. Super Sockets Rounded Bolt Remover, SAE

It does what it's suppose to do - removes rounded off nuts. What makes me just loose it is making, what I consider a EASY job, go bad.  Continuing to make a rusted nut more and more difficult to remove is frustrating, especially if is the last one.  If the nut has to be replaced and you don't have that size/thread on hand then you have go and buy one.  Of course it is either too late or the nut is a special nut type.  I use this socket set to take off the nut the first time around.  At least I get to clean it and perhaps place it back.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

seems to grab the rounded bolt head very well

I used it for removing a rusted and rounded off bolt on an exhaust system, the tool seemed to grip the bolt head pretty good, it is really important that when you apply pressure that the socket is level with the bolt or it will fall off just like a regular socket. It worked well, it removed both bolts with little problems it felt very lightweight in use and i was a little hesitant to put to much torque on it because it felt like it could be broken with to much pressure, but it worked well to remove the bolt, one of the little metal splines that they use to grip the bolt kinda got tweeked but even so it still did the job that i needed it to. And it will be ready for my next use of it.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

great tool

I got these for Christmas and I had my doubts but they're great. I'm a mechanic and they are great for when ya have a rounded bolt to take off or if by some chance you need to put one on. It works both ways. I used it first time on a belt tensioner that was stripped out and if I didn't have it i wouldn't have been able to finish the job. Great tool, great price!

I would recommend this product to a friend.
