While being lighter than the NiCad, the new Lithium Ion lasts much longer and does not seem to lose it's charge while stored. Never going back.
I bought this battery and charger along with the C3 Impact Driver. I like cordless and this one is my new favorite. It took 30 minutes to charge, out of the box (as promised) and I was able to get to work on my project right away. I like the size and light weight of the battery, made the work much easier and less cumbersome. I was able to finish all the initial fastening for my project over a couple of days without recharging. When I did need to recharge it, once again, it only took about 30 minutes. The indicator lights on the charger are clear and easy to read. I like it a lot. I'll probably get an extra battery (for convenience).
I have had my Craftsman C3 tools for many years. The large NI CAD batteries were cumbersome, and lasted a fair amount of time, for the technology. These compact Lithium-ion batteries are great, They charge much faster, and last longer. They even seem to give my old tools more torque. I also bought the car charger. Wonderful for refreshing your batteries between service calls. I use my tools all day, and I have yet to run out of power.

Reviewed this online before purchase. Charger was a no brainer and the battery pack lasts ~15 minutes as the reviews indicated. We use this as an extra time battery.
Opened up box, plugged up charger, red light is lit, placed the battery in it, green light blinked for about 10 seconds, all lights went off. Assumed it was charged according to the instructions. Placed next new battery in charger, this time no lights lit. Assumed it was ALREADY charged. Charger never showed any sign of life again. This charger lasted sixty seconds, so it cost me about a dollar per second of usefullness. I think thats way to expensive don't you? Oh, I drove over 100 miles (2 hours) to get that sixty seconds of Craftsman expertise. Yep, thats professional grade. Now, will I have to invest another 2 hours of my life to get my money back? Of course I will. Yep, thats professional grade.

I am always using my C-3 Craftsman tools. I had to constintly charge the ni-cad battery. This new ion Holds a charge for a much longer period of time. I will probably buy another ion battery when my ni-cad takes a dump.
