Made in China
I have used it twice and it works great so far. It pisses me off that it doesn't tell you online that it is made in China. I consider it deceptive since most of us assume that Craftsman tools are Made in U.S.A.

Great Cutters

Great cutters but sears cant sell you a replacement anvil so if you want to buy the cutter and replacement anvils go to ronan tools they sell both about the same price

Very Useful

very good quality, great sale price, and this one uses easier-to-replace, off-the-shelf single edge blades.....not Craftsman proprietary size and high price blades.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Found hard to locate parts

I have both the older version that was black and gold and this new version. I had the same problem with my old set of needing a new anvil which Sears didn't have so I purchased the new set. After much searching I found out these cutters are made by Ronan Tools and if you go to their site, you can purchase the special blades and anvil for the old style or the anvil for the new Edge cutter. Ronan's shipping is somewhat high but the parts are available. Just FYI for those looking for the parts. I have no idea why Sears doesn't carry these parts in the stores since they do go bad.

Utility Cutter

For the money, this cutter do what the package claims. Also, the blades are replaceable with box cutter blades and are easy to change. While I gave $ 10.00 {not the $ 20.00} this made this a better deal. Helpful to remove small tree branches.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Good, it cuts very precisely, but ...

The plastic pad on which the blade cuts wears out very quicly making a deep groove. This groove renders the tool useless for precision cuts on hobby crafts where it is mostly needed. Unfortunately this pad cannot be found to be bought. It doesn't make sense having to spend another 20 bucks for a new one just for another new pad. So if you can replace the blades, why not replace the pad as well?  I came to this web site hoping to find the part, but it looks like Craftsman does not sell it. WHY???  If it did, I'd order 10 pieces right now!  How's that for sales?

Better Than The Older Model

I was a bit skeptical when I first saw these, as I have used the older version for about 10 years for work,(We use them to cut 3/8" & 3/4" synthetic  manilla rope) & these looked inferior in the pictures. However I decided to give them a try.

I have to say I was pleasantly pleased. Two major improvements have made these better than the originals. First off, you don't need another tool to change the blade. You just pull open the handles & it pops put, then put the new blade in & firmly close the handles to seat the blade.. Done.

Secondly, the blades themselves are common, easily found utility knife blades, which makes finding them easy, unlike the old model, which you could only get at Sears.

I saw an earlier  reviewer say he could only fit 3 blades in the blade storage, but I had no problem fitting 5 in mine. The bottom line is, I've used these for over 10 years, & will continue for another 10 (Hopefully)

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Cuts things like going through butter

I was removing old carpeting, and tried using the same type of razor blade in this Cutter, in a razor holder, and it just jumped over the top. Took me numerous slashes to cut, and then had strings everywhere. Tried to cut carpet with a snips, but started to get blisters. Bought this, and it cut right through. I have used it on many things (today on rubber tubing), and it works great! Four Stars because the rubber pad the razor cuts into, is not covered by Craftsman Warranty, and not sure where to buy a replacement, if it wears out? The more Craftsman is made in China, the less its Warranty means. Which is odd, since the parts should be cheaper for Sears to replace?

I would recommend this product to a friend.

if only it were stainless

I use this cutter everyday at work and it performs great!. I love the way the blade changes out with minimal effort, nice. But, it rusts. I use it for cutting tubing that can be filled with water so my cutter gets wet from time to time. Even though it has the rusting issue I would still recommend it to co-workers. Craftsman gods if you are looking down on me then take my suggestion and use stainless steel in the constructon of your next set of utility cutters.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Excellent Cutting Tool

I bought this pair of Craftsman utility cutters a year ago and I'm not sure how I lived without them. They are incredibly sharp and can cut through just about everything from radiator hoses to electrical wire- even steel tire belts. The blades, even when they do wear out, still remain sharp, and when you want to replace them, they use general utility blades- no expensive specialized blades! Buy them- you won't regret it.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

One of my regulars!!!

I saw this on DIY Cool tools and had to try one out. It is probably one of my most used tools now. I have a small 1/2 lot with fruit trees, blueberries and grapes. I use this tool each day for pruning, cutting twine, rope or wire. I have used the point to remove staples. My only  regret is that it's not a bit smaller and easier to carry. It doesn't fit in a pocket well and it is a bit large but what tool is everything. I liked it so well that the one that I just bought was for a friends birthday present.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Buyer Beware

This tool is a nice razor cutter , it has a forever warranty , so whats my problem, well the plastic anvil which is made to wear out, and says on the package that its not covered under the warranty, This part can't be found anywhere by Sears, or Parts Direct after having them looking and searching ,and telling me it cant be ordered or found , this is hard to believe, this tool is still being made and sold at there stores , what the point of forever warranty , that why most of us buy craftsman , you bring this tool in after a year they will tell you sorry Charley Unbelievable

Craftsman Edge Utility Cutter- cuts so many things

I have searched a long time to find something that will trim the dead leaves off our yuccas. This cutter has replaceable blades so that you always have a sharp edge. I have worked with many other trimmers and none have been so easy.

Surprisingly Amazing

I was skeptical about these when I purchased them. The idea of a utility knife blade used with an anvil didn't seem like a good idea to me.  I know I have broken a few razor blades in the past, and didn't figure that the blade would have enough strength to cut anything more than paper thin stuff.  Well, I decided to try them out and they are amazing.  I believe everyone should own a pair.  I first tried using them to open some sockets in a bag.  I would normally just tear the bag, but I had a new tool I needed to play with.  They sliced through the bag with ease.  So their next test was the rigid plastic packaging that is crimped and sealed on the sides.  I first cut was started though the hole that is used to hang the package on display.  Again, they cut through this plastic like it was its job and it is good at its job.  I then tried to see if it would be able to cut through the edge of the plastic where it is bent a few times and about 1/4" thick.  This took slightly more pressure to get cut through but was still no problem for these handy cutters.  Today I put them to their biggest test so far. I was organizing my tool box and had some wrench rails that needed to be trimmed.  They are about 1/8" thick of hard plastic and about 1-2" wide depending on what area I am cutting.  These cutters worked flawlessly yet again.  They allowed me to make a much more precise and cleaner cut than anything else I could think of.  After cutting mulitple pieces of foam, about 20 plastic blister packs, and then 4 wrench rails, These things are still sharp.  And if the blade ever does get dull, it is cheap to buy more blades as oopossed to the other types of cutters.  I now only have to carry one type of razor blade refills and it will cover this amazing tool and my utility knives.  I really do like these cutters.

Great Cutters!

These utility cutters are fantastic for cutting hoses and plastic ties. They are very sharp and come with extra blades so you know it will always be sharp. I got these onsale and during midnight madness and only ended up paying $11.67. You can't beat this tool for the price! As always, it's craftsman, enough said!
