First Ball Pein Hammer

I had various hammers before, but never a ball pein hammer. This hammer was affordable and well built. I find myself using it over many other hammers.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Hammer is of Average Quality

The head of the hammer is its best attribute -- the wood looks a bit cheap. The "Craftsman" logo is stamped on with ink and wasn't complete on my handle. The good thing is, the head is made in the USA!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great Hammer!

This hammer is great! Just what I've been looking for. I'm a student as well as a hobbyist and this hammer is the perfect size for the smaller metalwork that I do.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Good solid hammer,

What can I say ? It's a hammer. I use it every day at work and it does what it's supposed to. Build quality is excellent. The stain on the handle and the black head is a nice touch.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great hammer

I've had this almost twenty years. It's great for hitting things. I don't think I've ever found a real use for the ball end. In all the years I've owned it, the head is still tight. The handle has a couple blemishes from missed swings. Recently, I upgraded to a Stanley fiberglass sixteen ounce hammer and put this one in the tool box I keep in my truck. It's a great twelve ounce hammer.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Ball Pein Hammer

I never really knew what a ball peen hammer was really good for growing up and then I started doing body work on classic muscle cars!  For $15 this 12 ounce hammer is perfect for tapping out small dents or for shaping new body panels!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

This Hammer will become an heirloom

I purchased this hammer to replace another ball pein hammer that was given to me by my father. My father's hammer was soaked in grease because I couldn't use it without having to hose myself off afterward.

I bought this hammer over 20 years ago when I first started out as an automotive technician, and I'll tell you the handle has kept up with me all these years, I've used it to beat on suspension systems, and used the handle end to push pistons into cylinders when rebuilding engines. The hammer has some scratches and wear, but works the same as the day I bought it!!

This will be the hammer I pass on to my children.

Stays Next to My Vise At All Times

I know that there have been a great many changes in Hammer design over the decades. There are now steel, fiberglass and even composite handled hammers. For a purist like me, however, nothing matches the feel of a good old fashioned hickory handle.

This ball pein hammer takes me back to a day with things were simpler and the job at hand was worth doing right, if it was worth doing at all. One cool little note, is that the Craftsman Logo is burned right into the handle of each hammer. No stickers to peal off leaving a gooing mess which attracts dirt and grime.

Remember that quality work requires quality tools!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Mine has lasted forever...

I have had this hammer for 25 years and it is as good as new.  Sorry Craftsman, I won't be buying another one anytime soon.  In the aviation business we do not have need for heavy hitting so the 12 ounce ball peen is what you see in use by all mechanics.  Perfect weight for  controlled striking against punches and light drifting of stubborn fasteners.  And I have not "babied" this hammer.

I did have to buy the five ball peen hammer set to get a replacement at one point in time, my kids had "lost" my 12 ounce.  But it resurfaced after about 24 months so I sold my newer hammers.  The older hickory handle had a more comfortable feel to it (or I was just feeling sentimental).

The Craftsman 12 oz Ball Pein Hammer is compact & lightweight

This ball pein hammer dropped right in the bottom of my Craftsman 16" metal hand box.  The hammer is light to carry around and it is shorter than a Craftsman 16 oz. ball pein hammer so it didn't take up much room in the hand box.  One of the main things that I like to do when I build a mobile set of tools is to include the tools I need and be able to pick up the tool box without straining my back.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

This is a good 1st size Ball Pein hammer

Craftsman carries (4, 8, 12, 16, 24, 32) six sizes of wooden-handled Ball Pein hammers.

The Ball Pein hammers are used for striking other metal tools, like punches and chisels.

A good general purpose size of Ball Pein hammer would be this 12 oz'r.

Once the owner gets a good feel for using their 12 oz BP hammer, they can go either down in weight for more delicate work or UP for the Get'r Done jobs.

Highly recommended.

I've had mine since, err... 8th grade?

I would recommend this product to a friend.
