Is this not the benchmark for all ratchets of this type? For many years a ratchet such as this has graced my tool box until it was borrowed...never to be seen again.
I recently bought the replacement and, while a little shocked over the price, I was truly happy to see that the quality was still there if not a tad better than before.
You cannot go wrong with this ratchet as a stand alone or in a set!

This a nice ratchet. The only issue is that it is tough to go into the store and find a good supply of sizes of the sockets. The ratchet seems to hold up as I use it daily for work.
I had been searching for a product like this for quite some time. I had searched endless stores and online until I can upon this product. It was exactly what I needed. I bought the product and was sent to me right away. They look great and feel good too buy girls love them!
As you know this is a useful tool, but having a Craftsman tool will make things easier. With this item you get what you paid for. Don't go with any other brands, this is the one.
It's Craftsman. What more do I need to say. When I need something or need to return something. I don't have to wait for the Snap On Truck. Sears does not blink. If it's broken or worn beyond use and it says Craftsman on it. Just pick out a new one.
Having spent many years as professional mechanic, I have a wide variety of brands of ratchets. My favorites are the standard old Craftsman ratchets as they are very durable. Needing another 1/4" drive for another set of tools, I purchased a new one recently. While it looks the part of the old ratchets, and seems to work as well so far, I was very disappointed to find that they are now made in China. Had I gone to the store instead of ordering it online, I would have put it back on the shelf at Sears. I will not purchase any more Craftsman tools that are not made in the USA. I will find a different brand of tools. Had the ratchet been made in the USA, I would have given it 5 stars.

This 1/4? drive ratchet with quick-release button is small but very tough. It has great balance and feels good in your hand. I would - and already have - recommend this to a friend.

This was a replacement ratchet for the last one that got lost. I do not have any special attachment to this exact style but it is the only one that fits in the set I have. Overall a good ratchet
A great quality ratchet for the price... Good length, not too short or too long and it has good weight-balace, as well...Not as fine-toothed as some of my other 1/4" drive ratchets, but for the price it's still a good ratchet....
Useful as a quick stocking stuffer for minor around the house use. Packaging couuld be more efficient for storage, lots of waste space and material to make it look bigger. Useul for small jobs.

I have a complete set of 3/8" drive ratchets, sockets (short & long) and extension bars. Sometimes these tools are not the right tool for the job because of a tight fit or close/small environment in which to work. The 1/4" line of ratchets, extension bars, long sockets and short sockets make for an ideal tool for those situations where the working room is small and a small wrench just won't work.
The look and feel of the ratchet is the same. However, I cannot accept the fact that this is now made in China. I will be returning this item as soon as I have the opportunity to. I have purchased and used mainly craftsman tools for somewhere in the area of 15 years. The three main reasons being that 1. they where USA made and 2. they have a lifetime warranty 3. I could afford them. This shift to outsourcing the production to China is unacceptable. I refuse to buy and keep any Craftsman tool that says "Made in China" on the package. Craftsman is sacrificing customer loyalty for the bottom line. If they where loosing profit or wanted to increase the profit margin they should have raised the price of the tools, not sacrificed their 50+ years of American manufacturing heritage.
Very solid product and we'll built. Handle is not too long or too short, so for light work it comes in handy but if you are looking to use it heavy job then consider something with longer hand. Worth the money for this little guy.

Haven't had any problems with this ratchet, I use it all the time at the wrecking yard to dismantle small fasteners inside doors, in the engine compartment and under the dash. Works fine and is one of my reliable tools.
I use this for home use and it is a very poor product. It is almost like the gears inside are/were stripped from the time i got it. Looking at replacing with snap-on as I'm tired of having the skin removed from my knuckles. it skips and free spins about every other turn.
