Nice buy for hubby's birthday

Hubby loves his craftsman tools and was thrilled to get this to go along with it!! Roomy enough to hold lots of stuff but easy to take on the go!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

a very good steel toolbox

When I bought this box about 22 years ago it said "Sears Best" on the side.  It is still a good box 22 years later.  Mine is moderately beat up looking but that is to be expected.  I like hand boxes so I can do work in other places than my garage.  The top removable tray is great.  It has two small compartments one on each end plus a compartment that is angled for socket storage running from one end to the other leaving the fourth and largest compartment to make up the rest of the tray.

I'm not a professional but do use my stuff on a regular basis so I can say this is as tough as pretty much any hand box in the price range. You can get a more heavy duty box but then you have to pay the price by carrying around all that extra steel plus all the tools.  The hinges, hasp and clasps have rusted up some but still work just fine.  I should say this box was exposed to salt air so accounts for most of the rust spots.  I expect this box to last another 20 years.  One side did bend in when it took a good hit, but I bent it back out and it is just fine. Can't go wrong with this or any of Craftsman's better boxes, metal or plastic.

This box carries;

Three 1/2" socket sets plus ratchet, breaker bars, adapters extensions etc.

Ten 3/8" sets plus three ratchets, breaker bar, extensions, speedwrench, adapters and many specialty sockets.

Four 1/4" sets plus three ratchets, breaker, extensions and adapters.

The box is a bit crowded, and pretty heavy, but still organized enough that I can lay my hands on the proper tool quickly.

My Craftsman Extra-Deep Toolbox is 39+ years old and counting!

I've had my Craftsman Extra-Deep Toolbox almost 40 years now, It's loaded with the tools I commonly use around the house. When my son or daughter need help with a project at their homes it goes in my trunk and off I go.

The steel construction is durable and long-lasting. I concur with another reviewer's comment that it is difficult to carry when filled with stuff, but I don't think that should be considered a negative attribute of this toolbox. That's like blaming the car when the driver exceeds the speed limit! Instead it is a positive attribute, because it has so much storage space!

The portable metal tray is sturdy and handy to carry around the house when I don't need to carry everything.

Haven't had a problem with the handle, which has stood up to my overloading the toolbox

Great box for household repairs.

I have several Craftsman tool boxes including this model.  This model is a good size, not too big and not too small.  I tend to keep my plumbing repair tools in this box.  I've always been a fan of the traditional metal box.  If you need a bigger box, consider Craftsman's plastic models.  They weigh less and won't get dinged up.

This Craftsman Metal Tool Box holds up to even me!

I went through 2 Stanley Tool Boxes until I found this Craftsman tool box. It's totally awesome! I've dropped it and even ran into it with a pallet jack and it's still together. Has a place for a small lock, which is totally awesome - I like my tools to remain my tools!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Craftsman Steel Toolboxes are long lasting

These boxes are a great value especially when on sale.  They are great for building your own service set.  Some people might criticize the plastic handle but I have used the same type of handle for over 30 years and not had one to break yet.  There is plenty of room to store a variety of tools.  One of the best things about it is you can take it with you when you need to be mobile, and you can work with it at home.  Plan your service set carefully so it doesn't end up weighing to much.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
