The Craftsman 6-Drawer Griplatch Roll-Away Chest is great

My tool chest has been a big help in my workshop.  I built a set over the past few years and the chest is now full.  One of the best things I like is the drawers in the lower chest would hold my industrial Craftsman socket sets.  These socket sets have blowmolded plastic cases like the plastic truck boxes and they drop right in.  There is even room for my tap and die sets in other drawers.  A bunch of other hand tools have been stored in it as well.  It is not too big and a good value.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Holds everything i need it to without complaint.

Bought this rollaway chest as the start to my tool collection. So far it hasn't let me down. I've had it for roughly 3 years and have accumulated many things in it and it still opens, closes, and locks just like new. I look forward to adding the top and more tools.

Good box, but no frills

Got mine on sale. Good, well made cabinet. I cant see having any major problems with it. One drawer had a slightly misadjusted GripLatch mechanism, but it was a virtual no-brainer to adjust. SMOOTH drawers when its loaded up. Pros: Good finish, smooth drawers, easy to adjust if need be, well made. Cons: Wish it had liners (they're extra cost), Wish Sears had a decent shelf divider system, the one they currently offer is not up to the task. I use this in my home garage, with matching intermediate cabinet. Decided to get all my mechanics tools in one spot for a change. I have other Sears toolboxes, and have found them all to be good values (but do watch the adverts, sometimes the sales are really good).

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Worst purchase I ever made

I bought the top chest and 6-drawer Roll-a-way combination along with the intermediate chest. I thought the Ball-Bearing construction would last me forever. The two chests have been great, but The Roll-a-way has had problems from the day I loaded tools in the drawers. The glides keep popping lose from the cabinet which will not let the drawers move at all. I have numerous Craftsman/Sears items and have never been disappointed with any of them before this. My recommendation for the Roll-A-Way would be "If they offer to give you one ... Do not take it."

Don't buy the midnight blue version

I bought the midnight blue version of the upper cabinet. Then I wanted to purchase this matching rollaway. I was shocked to find out that the identical black version of this cabinet was on sale for $279.99 while the blue one costs $386.99 That's a $150 savings vs. as $43 saving on identical items except for color. I called Sears customer service but I was told that blue is more popular so it costs more. I bought the blue upper cabinet just a few monts ago on sale for a very significant saving so even this explanation does even seem to be true. Was blue not popular just a few months ago? What have you ever bought where the price of identical items were drasticaly different depending on the color. I've always found Sears to be accomodating in the past but I found the opposite to be true when I tried to get them to sell me the blue one for the same price as the black one; they wouldn't budge. They showed no concerned about having a dissatisfied Sears customer.

Tool chest a success

After having tools spread out all over our fabricating facility, I decided to consolidate them into this chest and accompanying toolbox. It is of excellent quality and the price was great! I had some trouble getting it, as I ordered it online and the only place 'nearby' that had it in stock was 45 miles away. I took off work to pick it up only to find it had a large dent in it. It was reordered and took a week to get. Another few hours off of work resulted in a half-hour wait while they tried to locate it. So my savings were ate up by time off work and the extra fuel costs, but the personnel were very friendly and helpful and the equipment is of excellent quality. Golly....now I can actually find a tool!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

6 Drawer Roll Away Cabinet

No complaints, works well. The casters work great and the drawers work how they are supposed to every time, they roll in and out nicely and then secure easily when you're done.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Quality Tool Box

The locks are easy to lock and unlock the griplatch system works great and the amount of storage space for a small box is fantastic. The finish is very durable and most of all price is fantastic. The box is well made and sturdy.

Not a bad starter rollaway!

This rollaway was perfect for me as an aircraft mechanic's first box. The ball bearings and "Griplatch" makes it perfect for plenty of heavy tools and for portability. I can bring it out on the ramp without anything opening up. Also, as my tool collection grew the ball bearings did their job more noticeably. The more heavier a drawer got the easier it was to open and close. This is certainly the best bang for your buck!

I would recommend this product to a friend.
