These utility knives are a great value. I like being able to use a portion of the blade sometimes depending on the thickness of the material I am cutting. The comfort grip handle helps to get a better grip also. When I cut roofing shingles I use a non-retractable utility knife because I don't want the blade to collapse while trying to make good time. These are good quality knives with comfortable grip that will not cost you a ton of money. Let's be serious we all put the knives down and forget where, so I have 2 knives with me so I have a backup.
This knife is pretty durable and comes at a very affordable price. However, upon initial opening of the product it is VERY difficult to place the blade in and setup. However, once it is setup the blade works nicely and it has good grip.
I recently bought this utility knife. I was surprised at how easy I was able to switch the blades when they get dull. This is important for me. It does not require a screwdriver or any other tool just push the button and it opens right up. It comes with a few replacement blades already inside. The replacement blades were very cheap as well. Over all a great craftsman but would highly recommend!

Let me start off by saying that I do not have much experience using a utility knife. When I first attempted to open the casing I thought I had broken something due to the awkwardness in the design. There are no instructions on how to insert the blade, you are just left with a bunch of pieces that you have to try and put together in order to get this thing working. Very confusing if you are unfamiliar with a utility knife, however once you install the blade it seems to work fine.

Just got this because it was cheap, like 5 bucks, and it's a utility knife. I was happy when I got it because it's easy to open (a push of a button and it pulls apart) and change the blades, it came with 2 spare blades inside of it and is otherwise what you would expect from this type of utility knife.

i purchased this utility knife at the moment i got it best knife I've had it very comfortable to handle plus very easy to exchange blades without tools like other brands. i will be going back to purchase two more. in a push of a heavy duty button it will open and have extra blades inside to replace the worn out ones. i really like this one compared to other ones i have at home. very sturdy and push button very heavy duty.
We would definitely recommend this item! We have been very pleased with both the quality and the price. It has been exactly what was needed to get the job done!

Made of what seems to be low quality pot metal and/or plastic. I expected something more heavy-duty. Good design but I've got my doubts about how long it'll last.

I bought this item using the points I accumulated. It has rave reviews. I am pleased with the item. I picked up in store. Fast processing. Hopefully it will stay sharp for long.
This one does have the feature of retracting the knife back in its handle for safe storage and the feel of the knife is softer compared to other utility knives. It also has spare blades inside I believe.
The slide knife is nice and easy to handle. What I didn't like was the slide mechanism which was pretty flimsy and cheap for a Craftsman product. The product comes with three blades which are stored inside the unit.
The soft grip utility knife doesn't live up to the Craftsman name. It is poorly made with little quality control. The item I received has the paint on the Craftsman name smeared. It is loose fitting and the blade has too much up and down give in it. The slide doesn't travel smoothly down the track and hangs easily leaving the blade partially exposed. There are many other better quality utility knives that are cheaper and more functional than this one.
I really like this knife for the price, the only thing I would change is that the thumb button is definitely plastic. I'm worried that it won't last as long as the rest of the body. Guess I'm glad there is a lifetime warranty on it.

I, unfortunately, have several utility knives in my tool box, but this is the one I grab every time I need one! It is well built and comfortable in the hand!
