These are more like a pocket knife. I don't recommend these because the police might try to kill you, or cause you a lot of grief for simply being in posession of one regardless of what state you are in. Mine is in my set of tools in my workshop and I have used it once. I was not very comfortable with the folding blade and feared I would cut my fingers while opening, or closing the blade. I am happier with the old-fashioned scrapers, fixed blade, or retractable utility knives in my carpenter's tool belt. They are better suited for my type of work.
I bought this knife and the one I had for years. I carried it with me all the time. I'm a semi driver and I left the knife some where on the road during my week of driving. So I went up to sears to buy a new one, Would not be with out.

I keep this tool on my belt along with my mini flash light and use them as my most used tools to diagnosis a problem at work or my property management. It is amazing just how often I use the knife which can be opened with one hand.
Pros: * Outstanding weight balance * Slick Opening with positive lock * Blade retention system Cons: * Two step closing process * Dangerous operation * Quick Change not stable * Right hand use only, not for the left hand * No internal blade storage for spare blades * Made in China Review: This utility knife has a great feel with the way the wood is constructed. I really enjoyed holding it in my hand. As long as you are ALWAYS using the right hand, it works, but if you need to use your left hand for any specific job, you are out of luck because of the design, the thumb stud was designed on one side only. The blade retention is pretty solid, however the moment I opened it for the first time, it would not close as tight as it was brand new. Not only that, but you can open the blade with the knife in the closed position. This can happen if the latch catches onto anything in the closed position and the moment you flick the unit open, the blade could possibly fall out. I was forced to returning this unit back to Sears when this unit cut my finger when closing it because the blade landed on my middle finger that was gripping the handle. My advice: Buy a standard Stanley retractable utility knife that uses a standard screw because the blade won't accidentally come out, you can use with both right and left hands, has built-in blade storage and you won't accidentally cut yourself closing it and can be found for under five bucks. I saw this knife in a house and garden magazine, and thought it would be excellent for the type work I do, and it has been everything I could have asked for and more!!! In addition to being handy, compact and very stylish, it is also rugged and durable. I have been VERY pleased with this product.
I love the looks the feel, even the weight. But I wished they would stay together. This is the third knife and they all fell apart. It feels great in the hand. The cutting action and the angle of the cut is good. Looks great. Need a different locktite for the body.

Craftsman Folding Lockback Utility Knife, my husband got one of these for Christmas a few years ago and loves it. He uses it mostly for opening boxes or as a box cutter. He is always misplacing it and asking me what I did with it. Then it is found by him right where he left it. I'm thinking we need to get a few of these to have on hand for when he loses it or good.
I have purchased many utility knives in the past. None have held up as long as this craftsman. It has been thrown and kicked around pretty hard and still works great. The blade doesn't wobble and it stays sharp for quite a while. I would definitely recommend this product!
Good solid knife, rugged and have used them for years. You will lose it before it wears out. I am an electrician and need a good sharp knife frequently during the day. I use several different knives, but always carry my folding utility knife on my belt. With the folding feature and holster it is safe to carry around and and not as bulky as a regular utility knife. When the blade gets dull, it is a snap to change it out, and get back to the task at hand. My wife is pretty handy around the house and she carries one on her belt during the day. She mainly uses it to open plastic packaging, which is impossible to open with out heavy duty sissors or a good sharp knife. We both agree that these folding knives with heavy duty belt clips (and holsters) are handy around the house, on the job and on camping trips.

I purchased this utility knife for my husband and love the fact it was under $10.00 and came with extra blades. He is using it to cut the thick plastic landscaping edging and is able to do so without any difficulty. I highly recommend this product for both men and women.
