Once I decided this was the dishwasher I wanted my husband measured it in the store, read the specs online, measured it in the store again and was assured by the salesman that there was still some wiggle room available if you drop the levelers down all the way. Satisfied that it would fit, we purchased it. Well....once it was taken out of the box and we attempted to put it in the space we found it did not fit. The dishwasher has a minimum height of 33.5" the space it was to go in was 33.5". What we did not know is that there is a small raised area in the front of this dishwasher and that "bump" prevented it from sliding in to the space. We took off the wheels, we lowered the levelers as far as they could go but that raised area would not fit under the counter. Luckily my husband was able to remove a thin decorative piece of wood on the front of my counter and then the dishwasher rolled right in to the space. Just wanted to let you know when checking the dimensions, be sure your appliance will absolutely, definitely fit in the space provided before your purchase. With granite counter tops and several layers of floor spots are tight. My husband installed it himself. He said there was very little room to get your hands in to make connections. This was in comparison to our previous 20 year old Kenmore that connected so much easier. Hey, times change, products are updated, it's been 20 years! Other than that, this dishwasher is exactly what I was looking for. It looks great and although I haven't run a full load of dirty dishes we did run it through a cycle with nothing in it. It is sooooo quiet. Unlike the previous 20 year old machine that could be heard running throughout the entire house. In addition my husband said it is not true stainless steel on the outside. When he placed his magnetic level on the side of the machine it stuck. True stainless steel is not magnetic.
Purchased a new dishwasher on Friends and Family sale night. Great sales person patient and true customer service. It was delivered and my husband installed it....no problems. We ran the dishwasher and it is so quiet we were not sure it was running. Compared to our old dishwasher this one is like a Mercedes. Everything came out sparkling clean, dry and we could not be happier!

We love this dishwasher. Our "old" dishwasher (approx. 10 yrs old) was still in excellent condition, however, it was just to darn loud, and didn't do all that great a job cleaning the dishes and flatware. In addition to a quiet dishwasher that cleaned well, we wanted something that was energy efficient and had a few more "bells and whistles" than the standard "contractors" model that was installed when the house was built (we are the second owners). This dishwasher is just about perfect for our needs. At 51 decibels, it's not the quietest on the market; however, it is so quiet (we can hardly hear it operating) that we can't imagine paying more money for a washer solely to get an even lower decibel rating. It's estimated to cost only $22 per year to operate (using a gas hot water heater) and qualifies for a $50 energy rebate from our local utilities company. Further, it does not require the water to be softened. Our water is rated as "medium hard"; however, this dishwasher requires less than half the detergent that our older model did; yet -- more importantly -- it does an excellent job of cleaning. We also like the "Smart Wash" feature that senses the amount of items in the load and how dirty they are to determine how long the wash cycle should be. So, if you do even a superficial job scraping and/or rinsing items before loading them in the washer, the wash cycle will be shorter, thus saving even more energy (and money). Generally, the washer uses less than 4 gallons of water per load. Another nice feature is that both racks are made entirely of nylon, instead of metal with a rubber coating (thus preventing cracking and rusting). The interior is made entirely of stainless steel which looks nicer and helps dry the contents better and more efficiently. This item was on sale; so, all things considered, we feel we got a product that performs nearly as well as some of the Kenmore Elite products costing nearly twice as much.
After shopping for a solid month, we couldn't pass up Sears' one night only; 2 hour Friends & Family sale. This unit was already marked down 20% - then further reduced another 15%. TIME TO BUY.. Installation was easy, instructions clearly written. Unit is very quiet, only the water being discharged into the sink is heard while operating. Holds more dishes that my 12 yr old Kenmore, which never failed me, it still worked just fine. Upgrading all of the kitchen appliances, started with the dishwasher. Love the stainless interior, comes with a new discharge hose & clamps, I was glad I bought the optional install kit as it came with all the pieces needed including a 96 inch steel braided water hose. If you're thinking about buying this unit - contemplate no more - JUST DO IT...

This dishwasher is so quiet that sometimes I wonder if it is working. I like the Smart Wash that conserves water and electricity. The dishes take longer to wash but since I usually turn it on at night, this causes no difficulties. In the morning the dishes are amazingly clean and dry. I do need to figure out how to arrange bowls in a manner that they do not fall down since the racks are not curves like my last Kenmore. I appreciate the extendable rake on top that adjusts for higher dishes. The tips in the instructions make using this dishwasher easy and worry free.

After comparing several brands, price ranges, and customer ratings, we decided on this Kenmore dishwasher. It met our requirements for a stainless steel lined unit, adjustable rack, nylon coated racks, and turbo wash cycles. We are very satisfied so far with it's ability to clean the dishes and with the choice of wash cycles.

This dishwasher has some great features which is why I purchased it. I love the fact that it is very very quiet, has an adjustable top rack, and you don't have to wash the dishes before you wash the dishes because of the jets. However, the slots for the eating utensils are too small to fit my utensils, so I have to put them into the middle (not a big deal but that's not what it was designed for.) Overall, not a bad dishwasher.

I bought this dishwasher in July 2013. I love it so much I am buying it again for my vacation home. It is so quiet, fits tons of dishes in it and was easy to install. Me (divorced Mom) and my 20 yr old son did it ourselves with no problems. You can't beat the price for this machine.
Great dishwasher, but very difficult to install...the required "3 foot cord" purchase was a waste, as we needed to purchase a longer one, I called the store and they were not helpful, and the brackets and screws to mount this into the space were also unless and we had to make something else work...4-5 installation and not to mention that a critical electrical part was missing and it also had to be replaced by us.
We didn't actually want a Kenmore, we wanted whirlpool, but after talking to the ONLY friendly associate in our local store we decided to completely change our mind (and business from ***** to sears) and go with Kenmore. This dishwasher is so quiet that it sounds like gently boiling water, in fact I keep having to check the stove because I keep forgetting it's the dishwasher! The turbo feature is awesome. the only downside is, it does NOT have a top rack only wash, but other than that it is AMAZING.
I love this dishwasher! It is so super quiet! We couldn't wait to wash our first load of dish's as our old one had been broken for weeks so we actually LOOKED for dish's to wash. It honestly is as quiet as water boiling when it's running, actually it sounds just like it that I keep checking the stove thinking I'm boiling something!
I would avoid this dishwasher. Shortly after the 1 year warranty expired it started leaking out the motor shaft. I took it apart looking for a bad seal and it is clear it is made out of cheap materials. Look elsewhere for a dishwasher if you want a quality product. Now I know why the local Sears store where I bought it closed.
We can only compare this to the one in the apartment we lived in, or the one from 1999 that was already in the house when we bought it. Both of those were LOUD, retched machines, which spit food back up onto the tops of dishes. Anyhow, this one is super quiet in comparison, though I am quite sure the models a step up into the "Elite" category are quieter yet. We installed it ourselves, very easily, and though it is the same size as our last, old dishwasher, the tub is MUCH roomier, accommodating many more tall items, and more quantity-wise also. Hoorah! The tub is also steel, so that is awesome. Easier to clean, I feel. Though I'm so enamoured, I'm not bothering to shove food-covered dishes into the washer to test that. My ONLY complaint is the middle row of the top rack: Glasses fit great onto EVERY row EXCEPT the middle one. It's big and weird and no fitted grooves or anything to keep things steady, so if you put a glass in, then close or open the dishwasher, the dang things topple right over. It's kinda **** set up, but the rest of the washer is so darn good, I'll still 5 star it!
This dishwasher was easy to install and works beyond my expectations. It's very quite, uses less water than my old one but it was 27 years old!! Haven't had a chance/need to use the Turbo Zone. I use the 1 hr wash and haven't had anything I put in, come out dirty! A few plastic things are wet but nothing a quick towel doesn't cure. You will be more than satisfied with this dishwasher.
Very quiet which is a big plus since we have an open floor plan - kitchen and great room. Looks nice and like not having a handle. Has the feature of letting you now when the load is complete. Lets you choose heated dry, high temp wash and sanitize. Very satisfied and would recommend to friends and family.
I bought this model for my 85 year old mother when her old one died. While it is overkill for her, I wanted her to have a nice stainless steel interior. While it is a very nice machine with lots of features and cleans well, it has two flaws. One, the door is very hard to open....you have to really tug on it, with no release clamp in the handle. Two, it leaves a lot of moisture on the inside. True, its manual says to use "rinse aid", but that shouldn't be needed this much! I returned it for a cheaper model with an easy to open door. Thankfully, Sears was very cooperative.

My 25+ yr old dishes look and feel just like new! The new dishwasher is so quiet you hardly even know it is on. (I used to wait to run the old one when I went to bed because I couldn't hear the TV with the dishwasher running) I am very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend it.
