This is a very good quality range hood for the price.

I had to replace my old range hood and this Kenmore range hood was easy to fit in the same spot as the old one. The wiring connections feature several options to fit to your old connections. I like that the fan is much more quiet than my old fan. I would recommend this product.

Kenmore hood 52054 does the job adequately at a good price

I purchased this as a closeout that had been returned. Whoever purchased it first took the filter! But, no big whoop. I got it for a great price, so I don't feel bad about having to get a new filter. I did have to MacGyver the installation a bit, as our cabinetry is far from "standard." And, the ducting in our kitchen isn't standard to today's hoods, either, so I had to Gorilla Tape it shut.

Aaaaaaanyway! Back to the hood. Installation was pretty straightforward (aside from the aforementioned MacGyvering). I love the nightlight feature, which I think is going to get a good bit of use. Also, it has a smooth series of fan speeds, unlike our old hood with two set speeds. I also love that the wiring is concealed by a shield. Our old hood had the wiring exposed, which always concerned me.

The light accommodates two 40w appliance bulbs, giving off 80 total watts of light. Believe me, that's plenty! As with pretty much all hoods, bulbs are not included, so you can get whichever type you want. We went with clear bulbs because they're cheapest, and because there's a frosted white shield for the bulbs, the light ends up as "soft white" anyway. You could also try the bluish sunlight bulbs, but I'm not sure how that would look.

The hood is able to be ducted out or recirculate back into the kitchen. If you recirculate, be sure to get the charcoal filters (not included), or else you'll be sending all the odors and smoke right back into the kitchen.

The suction on this hood is good. It's not as powerful as most of the other hoods, but for our limited use, it's a far cry better than the Harvest Gold beast we used to have.

I didn't give this item three stars because it's bad. I'm just marking it as average because it is. It's not going to blow you away with its features or performance. It's a basic hood with basic features. It's a perfectly good appliance.

Overall
serious fan vibration

After installation, we found that the fan, when turned to 3/4-full speed, caused a serious vibration on the entire unit. also, the light cover vibrated and had sharp edges. We had to replace it.
