works great
I have had this unit, in white, for just over a year. No problems. The two ovens is wonderful; especially that the smaller oven, which I use most of the time, is on the top. Lifting a large turkey roaster out of the lower oven, which is at floor level, is a little inconvenient but a small price to pay for two ovens in such a small space. Because there are five burners (the middle warmer burner is of dubious value but cool), real estate is tight. If you use all 4 burners with full size pots, it's tight. Also, the back burners put steam right onto the backsplash so they can get grimey. The only thing I do NOT like is that the ovens are vented from the backsplash -- onto the cooktops. So, if you are using the back burners and the ovens, steam is going to get under your cooking pots and make a mess that is no fun to clean after it burns on. I often have a teakettle sitting on the backburner (not turned on), and I have to move it from the side the oven is venting on (ovens vent on opposite sides) or it gets water underneath it from the steam. When I use the oven, I usually put a towel under the vent to catch the steam...be sure not to turn on the burner under the towel!!! I would definitely buy this unit again, and some of my friends intend to do just that. BUT, I wish Kenmore would come up with a better solution for venting the ovens ...just never seen this kind of thing before. If you have the space for a larger stove, there are better choices. But this is a lot of stove for the money and very reliable.

very unhappy
I feel like im reading the reviews for a different oven from the other reviewers. After waiting over a year, I was so excited to get my double oven. After the very first use I found out just how hard it was to keep the cooktop clean, what a job. I hate using it because the clean process later takes so long. I only had it a month and it already has scratches all over it (using only recomened cleaning items) My sister in law has the same oven and said she has the same problem. On the other hand the double oven is great, I use it all the time. One of the red warm lights is stuck on already also.

GE Profile is a great product.

I really like our new GE Profile. My new favorite feature is the power boil. The water boils in half the time which is great. I also like the oven. It heats up quickly and bakes evenly. The GE profile also has smart styling. The self-cleaning mechanism works great and does not lock up like my old stove did.

The only downside I see to the product is that it has to be self-cleaned immediately to get rid of the factory smell. It takes three hours and my house smelled of burnt rubber the entire day and evening. However, after the ovens are self-cleaned the smell goes away.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

saved on electric using smaller oven

having a double oven range is more convenient than the standard range. this appliance allows more food th be cooked at one time. it also can serve to keep some of the food warm while waiting for the rest of the meal to be cooked. it allows for all you meal to be brought out at the same time.

this range has also helped with saving on our electric. the smaller oven is great for pies, pizza, tv dinners, etc. it doesn't take as long to get up to temp as the larger oven. this is also great because it gets done faster.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Have had this range since 3/19/10 and so far am very pleased

I did some research before decided on this range (I got the stainless steel version so as to have it match my other kitchen appliances and it looks great)-- So far I am totally happy with my decision.  The smooth top heats up extremely fast. I have definitely noticed a difference in how fast things heat up compared to the Dacor range that I had previously.  The dbl over feature is excellent!  I have always wanted a second over but don't have the space for it and this idea of having a smaller oven on top and the a larger one on the bottom is wonderful!  Ovens heat up extremely quickly - especially the small upper oven which I have used a lot already for baking cookies, homemade pizza on my pizza stone, stuffing, etc.  It has worked wonderfully to date.  The lower oven has not been used as much but the times I have used it I have been just as pleased.  I really like having the controls where they are and my husband particularly likes the way it is really easy to figure out which knob turns on what burner.  The electronic touch pad for the ovens is awesome -- you barely have to touch it to use it.  My last range -Dacor- you had to press rather hard on the electronic pad to get a response, this one is far superior.  At this stage in the game, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this GE range.  It has exceeded my expectations.

And might I mention I ordered this online and chose to have it delivered and my old range taken away (for only $10 more - it was worth it).  The delivery company that Sears uses was very professional and had my old range removed and new one installed in  a very short time.  I was impressed with the whole process.  I had a reminder call a couple of days before delivery and then the night before to give me a time frame in which they would be here.  The automated message said they would be here between 11am - 1 pm and they were here just a few minutes after 1 pm and had called to let me know they were on their way.  I am a very satisfied customer with this whole purchase!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Not worth the money

I bought mine about 6 months ago. The double oven is great, but the cooktop is a pain for both cooking and cleaning. It takes forever to boil water, or anything else you would prefer to begin cooking within a reasonable amount of time. And I agree with others, keeping the cooktop clean is ridiculously hard.

Love it!

I purchased this unit 5 months ago. I love the double oven, esp with the smaller traditional oven as the upper unit. The rack is a little hard to pull-out and one must be careful and pull out both sides of the rack at once. The lower unit in a convection oven which I have never used before now. It works so well and cooks your food evenly. The glass cooktop is a breeze to use (no cast iron!!) and is very easy to clean. I would recommend using the cleaning products that Sears sells. There are red indicator lights on the cooktop that warn users that the surface is still hot and not safe to touch after the burners are turned off. This feature also made it very simple to teach my grandchildren "hot". I would highly recommend this range :o)

This range is the bomb! I've had it a little over 2 months. I Love it. Cooks faster that my old oven, every time I use one of the ovens I make sure to set the timer. The burner's heats up fast as well. You will notice the burner's heat will go up & down (burner goes from red to dark) but it's not a big deal. Just make adjustments. We use the small oven at least 2 times a day. I ask my husband how he liked this range and he said alright that means he like it's. I normally use both ovens on the weekend. I like that I can have something in the lower over & may family can use the top oven if they want to cook something before I'm finished. The top oven is very spacious. I have put 3 casserole dishes in at once. You will have to make adjustments on the oven temperature as well. I feel that once you make your adjustments for your cooking you will like it. Remember the cooktop is BLACK glass & black catches and shows all lint that comes it way. But I still Love it anyway.

IN LOVE

I purchased this range back in September of 07 and waited until now to review, so I had time to find problems; however there are none. I am so happy with this range and would buy it again over and over. I use the top oven 2 times a day and have only used the bottom 4 times since I purchased it. The top oven heats up amazingly fast and cooks food very well. The oven also looks beautiful in my kitchen. I also suppose I'm saving money by cooking so often in the small oven since I'm not wasting space heating up an huge oven. I'v had a home with the traditional gourmet double ovens in the wall and I MUCH prefer this range. I would never buy a traditional range again. My only regret is that I wish I had a gas line to my house. I prefer to cook on gas, as that is a far superior method for serious cooks. I did not get the convection and do not regret it. I have had NO problems cooking with the regular heat method. I only wish this unit had a concealed heating element on the top rack as I cook alot and hate cleaning the element, but it's really nothing to complain about.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Greatest

This range was installed in late (post Thanksgiving) Nov '07, so I have cooked on it for 3.5 months. I absolutely LOVE it!. Three of the four children are still at home. I love to cook big meals and do so at every opportunity. I use the smaller, top oven for most everyday uses. I heat up the lower oven only when I need two ovens or when the upper oven isn't large enough. My only complaint is that I don't truly understand all the settings. What is the difference functionally between the pizza settings? And what makes the pizza setting different the standard settings? It would be very helpful to know exactly how the oven funtions for the various settings, so that i can apply them to other applications. The most exciting thing about this range is that I now have a double oven in an apartment-size galley kitchen without sacrificing countertops or floor space! p.s. at Christmas I cooked a standing rib roast to perfection using the temperature probe. No guess work involved. YUM, YUM!!!!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Love this stove/oven

I love this stove.. I've used the little oven several times since I got this unit "early in June" and love it. The kitchen stayed cool and it bakes and broils like a dream. I baked an angle food cake for the 4th of July and actually under baked it. "I was so used to having to pull things out early with my old oven." I am looking forward to Thanksgiving so I can utilize both ovens at once. I love the stylish look and it never gets unnoticed by visitors. I would buy this stove again over the Maytag and Jenair due to it's looks alone.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
