I purchased this range in October. We are in the processes of replacing it with a different one. We have had to have the service man out 3 times. And it continues to constantly beep. The down side of the upper oven is that it does not brown things on the bottom. The other oven works well.

This has happened to us twice. The heat and moisture from the oven is expelled on the left side of the stove top and it melts whatever holds the panel in place. I had roasted peppers in the convection oven and they release moisture. The panel slipped. We have had it repaired before for this very problem. Also the plastic panel topper breaks off from where it is held in back by three screws into thin molded plastic loops. In both cases I am sure the breakage resulted from installation since I clean my range very carefully, especially after the first failure. The fact is it is TOO fragile and no major appliance should have features which are so subject to failure. We have been Kenmore appliance people for 40 years and my mother was before me. Our appliances have lasted for years and we've had no problem up until this model. It is pretty and I like using it but, as I wrote, it is just too fragile and we will replace it with something different. No one should pay that much money for a stove that lasts less than three years.
I have had this stove for around 4 years and now that the second smoothtop has cracked I'm getting another new stove, but it definitely won't be a Kenmore. The original top cracked during the first year so it was replaced under the warranty. During that first year we also had some issues with the timer turning off the oven when it shouldn't have. We had to have the repairman out a couple of times for that. The biggest problem I've had with this stove is that the top oven will not bake evenly. Everything gets burned on the bottom and not browned on the top. It heats unevenly from front to back. I gave up on the top oven and started using the bottom oven for all my baking, which defeated the purpose of buying a double oven range. The top is also difficult to clean. But I'm done worrying about that because now that it has cracked again I'm getting rid of this expensive piece of junk.
The Sears Kenmore Elite 6.64 cu. ft. Double Oven Electric Range with convection is unique and is loaded with many features not found on most elective ovens/stoves. It is very easy to use and a pleasure to cook on and in. I love the look and is easy to keep clean.
Tried cooking meat in the upper oven. Meat came out very rare . Not being too smart I tried a pie in the lower oven. After almost twice the cooiking time it still wasn't done. So I finally found my oven thermometer and checked the ovens. Both preheat to the set temperature, then drop back 50 to 70 degrees. So I went back to Sears and exchanged the range. Immediately after delivery of the second range I tested the ovens. Both worked just like the range I had returned, heat to the set temperature, then drop at least 50 degrees. So this range was returned to Sears and I now have a different brand that works as expected..
I am a Kenmore girl through and through and have never been dissapointed. The Kenmore Elite Double-Oven range is no exception! I love the electronic controls and the easy to clean range surface!! I wasn't sure I wanted the double oven feature but from day 1 I'm glad I listened to my friends!! With just 2 of us at home the small oven is ideal and with it being on top it's my "go to oven". I highly recommend this oven/range!!

We've had our new stove for about two weeks. So far no complaints with it. As far as cleaning it goes, I went onto YouTube and watched a video on cleaning the top of it. I also bought a bottle of the cleaner recommended to use on it to protect the surface. It also comes with a small sample of the cleaner. I have only used the oven a few times, mostly the lower one - haven't had any issues with it so far. The most difficult part of using this oven for me is trying to figure out all the buttons on top for operation. It is however getting easier the more I use it.
I Love to bake and I am known all over the USA and Italy as The Cookielady. My husband received a bonus just before Christmas 2010. He surprised me and told me to go buy the double oven I had always wanted as I do a ton of baking for Xmas. I went to Sears and this one met all the things I ever wanted. Push button controls (no more cleaning knobs), Smooth top (No more burners to clean), and Double Oven. I was so excited until The Temperatures fluctuated so much you could not count on anything coming out the same twice in a row. The Bottom oven Takes forever to preheat! I have adjusted the temps so many times only for it to change. Thankfully we purchased the protection agreement! Numerous things have been replaced. Baking is now stressful not fun like it should be. I can't even clean it without it breaking! They are coming again today. I believe my Dream is a Lemon!

The new features are wonderful. My old range was almost 30 years old and while it had all the features available at that time it was nothing compared to this range. I love the smaller upper oven and it has been used more than anything else. (I do set it 25 degrees lower to avoid over cooking and that has worked well for me.) The cooktop is very easy to keep clean. Just be sure to follow the instruction manual tips for cleaning and you will have a clean and shiny stove top.
I love this stove! I was worried after reading all the negative comments about how the top oven was burning cookies and such. Well I also know that you should take comments with a grain of salt and I also thought that for every person writing a negative comment how many people bought this stove and had no issues? Most people writing reviews are only doing it because they are not satisfied. Well, I was right! I decided to try and bake a batch of cookies right after they installed it just to see what would happen and it did start to get too dark on the bottoms so I took them out. I'm not easily discouraged so I tried dropping the temp by 25 degrees like someone else suggested and they were not cooking. I decided to try with another batch of cookies today with a new plan. I set the rack up on the top level and guess what? It works perfectly! I didn't have to lower the temp or pull them out early! It didn't occur to me right at first that maybe the rack was to close to the bottom element and I don't think the heat can circulate well to get heat to the top. I also have an airbake cookie sheet that has two layers. I saw where people were complaining about it taking a long time to heat the oven up and how long it took when using turbo boil and both were not true. I have never had an oven heat up as fast as this one! Top and bottom heat fast! I made a meatloaf using the convection bake in the bottom oven while making rolls in the top and using three burners on the stove at the same time and it was awesome! I love the controls. I had a Kenmore Elite all touch controls before and it was very similar to this one! I love that it displays the temp from both oven as it is heating up! I times the top oven when I was heating it up to bake the cookies and it took a little less than 5 minutes to reach 350 degrees and it was about the same for the lower oven! I love the lights in both top and bottom. It is a little hard to see something cooking in the bottom oven because it is so low. If you had issues with bending you might not like the lower oven. I don't miss the bottom drawer at all. I only had a few cookie sheets and muffin tins in there. It was really wasted cooking space! I can fit a huge turkey in the bottom oven and many other things in the top. The top cleans easily! I love the lighting and how modern it looks! I'm so glad I didn't listen to the negative comments!!!
They top of this range is a nightmare to clean. I have treated it with the best and most tender care but top takes forever to clean and I can't figure out were the scatches are coming from..don't want to cook on because I know I will have to clean. Also if your are cooking something that splatter at all be sure to clean rest of stove before you cook anything..nightmare ...who tested this???Had a top that was speckled before and found it easy. Unless you just want a show peice pass. Also I bought the microwave..like it but because I have cabinets about and the range controls are high I have to dip my head a bit to see- so make sure you have plenty of clearance and your tall.This range is beautiful but buyer beware. I love the double oven and haven't experience the problems others have had. The power boil is really fast..but don't take your eye off of it - can boil over fast.

We paid $1200 for this item, which was priced at $2000. It is garbage. The upper oven burns everything you put in it-cookies, pizza, biscuits, you name it. The racks in the lower oven are slightly smaller than they should be, so when you put something heavy in, a dutch oven, say, the rack falls down. The lower oven takes forever to heat up. The burners don't cool down quickly enough when you turn them down.
I'm 59 years old and have NEVER disliked a range. I HATE THIS RANGE. Top oven burns on bottom and does not cook on top. Bottom oven takes FOREVER to preheat. Ceramic top scratches easily and is impossible to clean. The rim on the top is IMPOSSIBLE to clean. Too many steps required to just turn on a burner! Only things good , turbo boil and racks that can stay in oven during self cleaning. We are replacing this range.

I have wanted one of these double ovens for years, and when the old unit in our house went out (10/2011), we splurged and got this one. I was thrilled and couldn't wait to get baking. The top oven is really only good for things that won't rise, banana bread rose and touched the top. We only ever use it to warm or for making french fries, and pizza, it will burn the bottom if the rack is at the lowest set. With light use, it already needs to be repaired as it no longer maintains any temperature set. In the large oven, you must use the convection setting for roasting and baking. Simple boxed brownies have required almost twice the time to cook, with the result of burnt edges and raw centers. The required bake time is only achievable when using convection bake. About the only thing this oven has done well is cook a turkey, which took much less time then we expected using the convection roast setting. No consistent results with this oven. Save your money and avoid this oven. :(
I wasn't going to buy a double oven but this happened to be marked way down at my store because of a small dent at the bottom. I will never go back to a single oven. The top oven was a dream for the first month and then it started having issues with getting much hotter in the back. I checked the wires in the back as another reviewer suggested and its back to being a dream! Love the lower oven when baking many trays of cookies or several pizzas; never had convection before; will never go without again! Both ovens heat very quickly. The top is hard to keep shiny but I had exposed elements before & hated them so to me this is much better. Overall I love this oven.
I bought this oven for the look and for the double oven. The top oven burns and is weird to use. The electric touch panel kept popping off. Needless to say I returned this oven after only having it for one week. The sears people were very good to work with. I feel safe buying from them.

Love it. Very even baking. Love the turbo boil and warming area of the cooktop. Cooktop, however, is very shiny and shows every smudge. Also, this is supposed to be "stainless steel" color, but is primarily black.

DO NOT BUY THIS MODEL! We purchased this model because of the apparent benefit of the double oven feature which we soon discovered does not operate properly. The upper oven bakes unevenly resulting in cakes being burned on the back side of the oven and not completely baked toward the front. We have had cardboard pizza trays nearly catch fire in the upper oven which is a real safety hazard. Two different Sears technicians who have serviced the unit have told us this model has major design flaws with the heating element of the upper oven being oversized and the thermal protection switch tripping during the self-cleaning cycle rendering both ovens inoperable. Sears continues to market this model in spite of clear evidence that the model is defective. Sears Customer Solutions department has been uncooperative in resolving the problem. So basically we are left with an expensive range that does not function as advertised. We would NOT RECOMMEND buying this model. Once again - DO NOT BUY THIS

We splurged on this oven! I was so excited to have the stainless look and really looked forward to having a double oven for our busy family of six. Unfortunately, if I could get my 15 year old previous oven back I would jump at the opportunity! Both ovens take forever to preheat. The top oven burns everything on the bottom. We rarely dare use it. The bottom oven causes every baked item that I have made to flop. I bake a lot and rarely had anything not turn out well. This oven has caused great embarrassment because baked items don't bake correctly. I have tested the temperatures in both ovens with an external thermometer. The top oven is about 30 degrees off. The bottom oven varies in temperature by about 40 degrees and it fluctuates up and down dramatically. I just hate it!
Haven't had it, or used it enough to give it 5 stars. The top is hard to keep shiny being black ... shows more smudges then my gray top did ... but it is beautiful and VERY USER FRIENDLY! Love the hidden bottom elements ... that will be so handy when it comes time to clean the inside.
