i will get rid of this washer before anything else. it is an absolute piece of garbage. leaves white marks on dark clothes. have to wash them over and over. . uses hardly any water so clothes not clean. never will buy kenmore again and have been a consistent customer for many years. no wonder sears is going out of business. horrible product.
I've had this washer about a week. I picked it up, transported and installed it myself. Really easy to do. Lightweight and easy instructions. Drain hose could be a little longer. I read all the reviews, good and bad and decided to read the instruction manual first. Works well and so far so good! As long as it lasts longer than my LG front loader that only lasted 5 years, I will be a happy camper! Clothes come out clean, I load them around the outside like it has an agitator. Not noisy at all. The price was right too!
We had this for about a year. It never worked right as there is no way to load it to stop it from freezing. It's a joke, it's either too much or too little. Can't handle 3 pairs of jeans or one large towel in the load without freezing. Sometimes it freezes with a load of my 4 year old's clothing, nether too big, not too large. I figured out that the best thing to do when it freezes is to pause it, stir stuff manually and restart the program. I can't leave the machine without supervision if I want to make sure clothes are actually washed. As a topper, after less than a year, it is now leaking during the wash cycle. Save yourself money and frustration, get something else.
I chose this washer as a replacement for my Kenmore Oasis which could not be repaired. To begin with, the installer stated the washer had to be placed on a provided foam mat for quietness. The pad looks awful! Then I fully read the manual and followed it completely, but the clothes never spun out well and were left very wet. This is a HE washer and when paired with the electric dryer made the dryer-which of course is not a HE machine-use MORE electricity (and time) to dry the clothes. There is no cost savings here. We were told we had a 30 day window to exchange the machine which we are now doing. Three sales assistants helped us yesterday complete this exchange. One man told me the foam mat to make the machine was required, the other man told me the foam pad was packing and should have been removed. Uh, who is correct? In addition the washer is not solidly built. At least not compared to my previous machine. Our laundry is not heavily soiled, so the clothes were clean. But the main issue is the energy. I would not advise anyone to buy this machine if you are wanting an energy efficient machine.
This washer does not get clothes clean. I need to use the heavy setting on my husbands shirts or they still smell of cologne. Whites need to be soaks every few weeks in Oxyclean as they are spotted. Darks always need to be put on a second rinse to get the soap out, sometimes a large load will need to be rinsed 3 times. The cycle takes forever. We bought this with it in mind to last our retired years. It may last as we do 3 to 4 loads a week, but it is a piece of junk. I have soft water, and have used Kenmore for years. Very disappointed.
DO NOT BUY THIS!!!! didn't even want to give it one star... right after the year warranty went out the computer sensors on the bucket quit working properly. So it does not clean, cycle or wash correctly. I have to constantly reset the start button to get to work. Sears know of this problem and offered to come and replace the computer for 289.00 to give me another year warranty. I'm buying something else with that type of money.
Purchased this with the matching gas dryer. The electronics in the washer failed within the first 6 months, so since it was under warranty (a 12 month warranty for this high end item???) I took the faulty one back and got a replacement. Now it has been 14 months in use and the hot/cold water inlet valves have failed so that the washer leaks water all over the laundry room floor during every cycle. On top of that, the spin/drain cycle has decided to go south and when it works it sounds like a B-52 landing in the laundry room. This product is obviously poorly constructed and it is no wonder the wizards in Quality Control slapped the 12 month warranty on it. If you buy one of these you are going to be decidedly unhappy -- just a warning.
I bought this washing machine and after using it for just 14 months, the motor was already burnt up in it! After talking to the repair man, he informed me that this was a very common occurance. I will not be buying anymore Kenmore washing machines again. Terrible experience.

Had it for a year and a month when it stopped spinning, draining and kept jumping up and down in time left. The washer also doesn't lock properly and I can open it, off and on, anytime in the cycle. Our home appliance care service has been out 5 times, replaced parts and still it isn't working properly. Latest news is that it looks 10 years old inside. We took care and read all info, used proper detergents and all. What a piece of garbage. Always bought Kenmore products, but will think twice now for all future purchases as the store said they didn't know any problems with the washer. Couldn't believe just one month after the year warranty is stopped working right and Consumer Reports research said it was a good purchase last year.. Saw LG had a recall, this should too with the top unlocking randomly in the cycle.

This washer is a disappointment to whom ever expects to get clean clothes from a wash. Numerous service men have come and can offer little advice rather than that there have been several complaints about this washer. The clothes washed are stained and dingy even after using the detergents recommended, spot treating and pre-soaking in a sink (because there is not enough water in this unit to soak) If you have a life then this is not the washer for you. If you don't get dirty and live in a sterile environment then you may be happy with this product.

This washer does not clean clothes! The clothes on the top barely get wet and their is no agitator to clean the clothes! Your clothing and sheets just end up swishing side to side with everything on top not completely soaked so you never feel like the clothing was washed well. We had so many technicians from the warranty department come out and say they have so many complaints about this washer not cleaning clothing, leaving residue and especially items like sheets floating on top of the load and not getting wet or cleaned. The warranty from Sears and their Master Protection Plan is a joke! They will not acknowledge this washer as being a "lemon" and will do everything to try not to replace it. The technicians are trained to just document that the washer is "operating as designed" and will not document that the thing does not clean clothes. They will tell you you aren't using the right detergent, or right setting, or not using the "clean cycle", or loading the clothes properly, etc.....It doesn't matter what you do, your clothes are not washed well. I will never purchase another Kenmore appliance or anything from Sears because their warranty is a joke and the products are poorly designed. They will do anything possible to avoid replacing their products.

HE is supposed to be energy efficient. How could it be efficient if I have to wash the clothes twice to get them clean. Once I opened the lid to see that the items were not even wet, no wonders it does not clean the clothes. Now I add 3 gallons of water to the wash tub to get all the clothes wet. I am sure that the government is behind this inefficient product.
This is the worst washing machine I have ever purchased. All other reviews say same thing puts white stuff all over clothes. We are all itching because I dont think it cleans the clothes at all. I am calling sears and see if they will take this piece of garbage back.
We have subjected this machine to heavy use since we got it a month ago. We followed the directions carefully, used liquid HE detergent, used second rinse (as we did with our old non-HE machine), and kept the door open between loads to avoid mold problems. It worked great. We have no complaints at all.

We bought this machine 18 months ago and have been extremely disappointed. Clothes dont come clean, makes terrible noise when running, soap stays on clothes, and now doesnt work at all. Didnt take extended warranty when purchased so Sears wanted $225 per yr to purchase warranty now! Told them no way paying $225 a yr for piece of junk that should still be considered new. Called an appliance repairman not affiliated with Sears, he just left, said" machine is a piece of junk". Didnt want to take my money to try and fix it. He said hard to diagnose and in his experience breaks repeatedly. Better off getting rid of it! Unfortunately, house damaged in Hurricane Sandy so cant afford a new machine. When we do buy it wont be from Sears!!
This washer lasted just over a year and is more expensive to fix than it is worth. We will never buy an appliance or anything else for that matter, from Sears. At its best this washer did not get clothes as clean as our old washer and most of the time did not wring clothes out. We tried all kinds of recommended detergents, etc. This washer is just a piece of junk.
Our old machine keeled over about 3 months ago and I was really tired of going to the laundromat so we bought this machine without doing any research. We had the delivery scheduled when I read the reviews and have to say I was really worried. We watched the quick video demonstrating how to load the machine and read through the manual after it was delivered. I have to say that I am VERY impressed with this washer. It is very quiet (our hookups are in the kitchen which is right next to the family room), clothes come out smelling and looking great. Read many reviews stating that clothes were very wrinkled, had detergent residue, that the machine was noisy, etc. but we haven't seen any of these issues. Even the clothes my husband wore while in the crawl space of our house came out looking great. If you purchase this machine, read the instruction manual, watch the demo video and use the high efficiency detergent. You won't be disappointed if you use the machine correctly.

Sho won't be buying another piece of **** from Kenmore again. I grew up on Kenmore products and after owning a Frigidaire and GE, I couldn't wait to get a Kenmore back. Now I want to haul it to the dumpster after 2 months. Leaves my clothes wet. Almost NO water to wash the clothes so I send them through twice and put only half of a load in to compensate for the low water levels. Still I feel like they are dirty. I kicked it and put a dent in it so now I can't take it back. I won't be buying any more Kenmore.

We purchased this washer in May 2011 based upon a Consumer Reports review. Although it does an okay job cleaning a small amount of clothes, it is always noisy and requires the long and inefficient "bulky" cycle for all other loads--whether they are bulky or not. Otherwise, it shuts down the spin and leaves your clothes and sheets soaking wet. From other comments, this appears to be a design "feature".
The electronic sensor is the worst possible feature on any washer. The clothes are barely covered with water. I was told that the low water level is gentler on clothes, but how can that be true when they're being swished around in low water levels! Hopefully the manufacturers will be convinced that they made a mistake and go back to washers without electronic controls.
Our sturdy old (20+ years) Kenmore washer quit, so we decided to spend $800 on a new HE instead of $130 on a new timer motor. BIG MISTAKE. In the last 2 years we have developed some tricks to get our clothes clean, some of which probably use as much water and energy as the old washer. I won't bother sharing them, because you won't need them if you DON'T BUY THIS WASHER.

I purchased this model and felt regret ever since. One star is too much for it. The biggest problem is its key feature of low-water wash technology, which decides the water level you should be using, no good way to change it. Because it decided to have low water for the wash, cloth will have dry spots here and there, meaning some spot never get washed. Whatever part of cloth does get washed, the lint and dirt concentrated in the water, and do not get removed easily, leaving dirty patches on the cloth at the end of wash. Also due to low water, the powder style laundry detergent won't work properly, leaving white residues on the cloth. I somewhat resolved this problem by changing to liquid style laundry detergent. Still, over time, I found out the washer can only take 6 dress shirts "at most" per wash. So do get fooled by the capacity it stated (3.6 cu.ft.), it is meaningless. DO NOT waste money on this washer. DO NOT buy this washer.
