We have a very dry climate here in the winter. Our Sears humidifier keeps our 1600 sq ft home comfortable all season. The filters work great for about 2 months, then have to be replaced so that the humidifier works at it's best.

We bought a Kenmore humidifier or year ago. We absolutely love this product. We replaced the filter at the beginning of this season. This filter is very inexpensive. A value for the money.
We have a very dry house with the fireplace going regularly in the winter. Wouldn't be able to get through it with out our humidifier. And Sears is the only place we can find the filters!
I have only been buying this name brand Kenmore replacement filter for my humidifier, having had a bad experience with the cheaper ones. I would eventually get musty odors with them and they didn't last as long as these Kenmore filters. Friends using this humidifier have had similar experiences when using cheaper filters.
When cold weather arrives and the humidity drops, it is very noticeable because I start snoring and drive my wife crazy. I know its time to break out the humidifier. So I run to Sears and pick up one of these new filters for our Sears humidifier, set it up, turn it on, and like magic, the snoring at night stops. Amazing how that works!
Whenever our filter needs changing, I place an order for this item through Sears, as we use our humidifier on a regular basis. The filters are always easy to remove and install. Installing a new filter makes me feel good about the air circulating through our home.
Perfect fit for my Kenmore humidifier #154120, even though that model isn't listed on the box. The filter is treated to inhibit mold and mildew grow, but you'll still want to use antibacterial additive in the water to control odor over time. I use my humidifier 6 months out of the year, and change the filter yearly because it will get filled with dust naturally with use.

We have our humidifier in our basement where we heat with a wood stove which is notoriously "dirty" heat (although wonderfully warm and economical). The humidifier let's us know when we need to change the filter and when we do it is easy to see the good job it has done. The filter is noticeably dirty. I have contemplated getting an off brand but why mess with what works so well plus the fact that the originals last for months. These filters were easily found off the shelf at my local Sears.
The filter works well but I expected it to last for one season. The one I bought in the fall had to be replaced in February. Both times I bought the last one on the shelf. This does not give me confidence that there will always be one there when I need it.
The filters work fine. They are relatively expensive but of reasonable quality. The biggest problem is the minerals in the tap water we use will over time (some shorter than others) will harden, clog the filter and make it less effective. We are experimenting currently with various materials to keep this mineralization hardening down to a minimum.

One filter in each machine lasts half the winter, when a lot of the days are below zero, like this year. We have two units running, and we add a capful of sears scale build-up preventer to each gallon tankful of water. Makes the house cozy and prevents furniture breakdown, as well as dry sinuses.
This filter works very well, but with some minor modifications it works much better, at least for me: (1) When installing a NEW filter I take butcher twine, wrap it around the top of the filter and tie it snug, closing the gap where the two ends meet (this pulls more water through the filter--more efficient), (2) then, I put a cap-full of household bleach in the water (don't spill the bleach) as there's something in the filter that doesn't let water migrate through it very well as it gets older--this resolves that issue. I have three humidifiers and one is quite old. These filters have worked fine for me and I've purchased MANY of them over the years.
