I read many of the reviews here, and was surprised to read that for some other people this unit didn?t heat rooms smaller than mine. I use this heater in a decent sized family room (about 20 X 24) and it does a fine job. My son even complained about being hot. Before buying, I was concerned that my room would be too large for this heater but even at the low heat setting it does a nice job of raising the temp in our normally cold room to a comfortable level. It?s also nice looking & fairly quiet. The fan sound was another concern I had since it?s sitting right next to our main TV, but I have to say when TV is on at normal volume; it covers up the low fan noise from the heater. One feature I really wish this heater had is a shut-off timer like most other heaters I?ve owned. Like most heaters, this unit cycles on & off to maintain the desired temp, and during the ?off? cycle, there is no indication that the heater is ?on??no lights, no sound, it appears like its shut off, but it?s not. A few times I?ve left the family room for the night & forgotten that the heater was still on, so potentially this unit could be running all night and into the next day. This is both a wastes of heat & electricity as well as being dangerous. A simple shut off timer of 2 or 4 hours would alleviate the problem of forgetting it?s on. Something else I?d like to clarify that another reviewer mentioned is the ?blue light?. The unit seems to have internal LED lights (that are fairly bright). They show though the grate on the front of the heater when it?s cycling on & off. During the heat cycle, the LED lights are red, and then when the room reaches the temp set on the top display, the heating elements turn off inside the unit & the LED lights switch from red to blue. Not sure why it?s important to have these blue lights, but what they indicate is that the fan is just blowing the residual heat out of the unit. This phase lasts 4-5 minutes then the unit goes into the ?sleep mode? where it appears to be completely off. When the room gets cool & it?s time for the heater to cycle on again, the red LEDS come back on along with the heat. At first I found these lights distracting while watching TV, but I?m getting used to them. Last positive comment I?d like to make is that the control display is wisely located on top of this unit. Most other similar infrared heaters have the display on the front which is difficult to see. The top mounted display of this heater is much easier to access & read.

Got this on sale during black friday week. This heater comes with an optional 3 year warranty for $18, worth it. So far it keeps our family room cozy even when it's been in the negative teens here in Colorado. Great little heater for a medium sized room!

I got this heater for my son's room, and it works wonderfully. I can set it to whatever temperature I want, and it can stay on all the time. It even tells me the temperature in the room before I turn it on too. I liked it so much, I bought another one for my open-layout kitchen/dining/living room, and it heats the entire space! If it starts to over-heat, it even has a cool down mode, which I love. Very safe around my one year old and small dog. I definitely recommend!
I bought this for my son for an early Christmas gift off from the early Black Friday web deals. I saved over $140 and picked it up in the store. Looks good, built solid and the nicest thing . . . it is easily portable from room to room for zone heating.
I've only had this heater about 3 weeks but I LOVE IT. It has totally replaced the small heater I've always keep in the kitchen. For once, the kids actually say -- turn off the heater -- it's gotten too so warm in the room. I've never found another heater which can actually heat up the room -- and it's good warm heat -- not that hot air that dissapates quickly.

I just purchased this today after seeing all of the positive reviews. I did not like that it didn't show how much sq. footage it was rated. We wanted one for 1500 sq ft. and this one shows in the manual 1000 for anyone wondering. So far it is doing a good job warming my living room.

We recently researched heaters for our downstairs bedroom and so we stopped by our local Sears Store in Butler, Mo. While their Joe the owner personally waited on us and found this heater on sale saving us over $100. The heater works absolutely perfect and we couldn't be more happy. Just another great Sears experience.
I bought this so I wouldn't have to heat up the whole house when I'm only using the living room and kitchen and a bedroom. It heats up a bedroom 12x12 pretty well, but it was a major fail in my living room/kitchen space. I had it on all day with the temperature set at 75 degrees. After returning home from work, it was FREEZING in the living room. The temp on the system showed that it was 55 degrees in the house and the setting still showed 75 degrees. I turned on the main heat. When I went to bed (10 pm) I decided to give it another try. I turned the main heat off and turned the heater on and set it for 80 degrees. I got up about 3 am, it was still very cold in the room (60 degrees). My smaller heater ($20) did a better job of heating the room than this one. I returned it and purchased a smaller heater.

At maximum output the heat is minimum. I saw all the nice ratings and I bought the unit. It does not heat a small room in my home - even after leaving it on at high fan - high temp setting overnight. The heat coming out is barely enough to warm my hands directly in front of the outlet. It is a large package that does next to nothing. I will return the product to Sears.
Compact with sleak attractive design. Simple to setup and operate. Excellant for room size indicated by manufacturer. Remote is simple to use. Appreciate the safety designs.

We recently had our central heating system die, inconveniently before a forecast ice storm. We bought this as an emergency purchase and put it in a fairly large drafty room under a ceiling fan. It seems to be doing a great job and I'd recommend this heater to anyone.
The Kenmore Infrared Heater is easy to use. I have a very large drafty room I am using this heater in. It does not heat the room instantly, but once the room is warm it keeps the air warm. Much better than the space heaters I have used in the past. I am very please with it.

Bought this heater without being able to see how much space it was supposed to heat. I was really expecting more. I do like that it shows actual temp as well as ****** temp. Just wish it could get to ****** temp. I do like that if it does get hotter in room than ****** temp it will kick into fan mode.

Immediate shipping at no additional cost. Worked great right k it of the box. Heats a very cold finished basement (20' x15') to a very toasty temperature. Excellent product so far.
Great heat flow and does the job well. Upon purchasing it was difficult to determine if the heater was the correct size to heat the room size. The item or box is not labled in anyway as to how much space the heater would hear. suggest cubic ft. surrounding area of heater.

My husband came home with this kenmore heater, well i just love it. the first cold day i turned it on and in just a few minutes it warmed the area i was sitting in. it runs very quiet and the fan blows warm and gentle air.i am looking forward to a warmer winter. i love the remote,so convient next to my tv and in the bedroom.
I have not seen what this will do to our electricity bill as of yet, but it does warm our living room pretty well. If our electricity bill does not go sky high, I will give it 5 stars.
I live in a small home and have a furnace that is costly. When I come home I now turn on the furnace to get the chill off and warm up all rooms then I turn on the heater and I don't have to use the furnace again.I usually stay in one room and this heater warms it up nicely and extremely quiet. I have recommended this to most everyone that would listen. I know my bill will be cut in half. Should have purchased this many years ago!!
Quiet with a good amount of heat provided. Allows 3 levels of heat low, med and hi while also being able to select the desired room temp. Shows the current room temp on the display. I see no difference in the amount of heat output compared to those expensive quartz tube heaters. Air filter in rear of unit to help keep blower clean. Overall a good value for dollars payed. Heater is on wheels for easy mobility with little chance of tip over. Pleasantly surpised with my little furnace and ample heat output.
