I like my refrigerator. So far so good. The only thing that I didn't like is the fact that one drawer is deep and the one drawer is shallow. The drawer I like to put my vegetables in isn't big enough for the length of the carrots or celery. I purchased the refrigerator looking at the white one that was on the floor, so I was a little surprised by the look of the black one. I figured it would have been a shiny black but it is kind of dull. Another thing that I am not used to is the glass shelves. The salesperson mentioned they were nicer because food spills, but I found that you need to wipe them down more otherwise your refrigerator looks dirty. I wish the shelves on the door were stronger plastic, for I fear that they could get broken. That is okay, I still like it and I am not disappointed in my purchase.

The price on the Kenmore 21.0 cu. ft Top freezer refrigerator was very reasonable. I purchased this for a school booster club to be placed in a school. It is a small country school that does not have a lunch program. The students use it for their school lunches. The bottom vent cover fell off the first week of use, and a shelf on the door broke the second week. It is not made for heavy duty use, but for the price was still not a bad purchase.
If you are looking for a refrigerator for a good price, this is it. It has great glass shelving, meat drawer and the shelves are movable. I would recommend this frig if you don't need one with an ice maker.

This model is similar to another model we had but does not have a drawer for items like our old one. It is also noisier and the wire racks are a little flimsy. My wife keeps hitting her elbow on the door handle when getting things out of the freezer as it sticks out at least an inch more than our old one, but this is just something we need to get used to. All in all it does the job of keeping our food cold which is its main purpose and we got it on sale for under $400.

I bought this refrigerator to put in my new house as it matched my needs. After having it a month I purchased ice cream and placed it in the freezer. A few days later I retrieved the ice cream and found it to be not frozen. I raised the thermostat all the way and waited a day and still not frozen.... Several service calls and still defrosted ice cream. Called Sears Customer care and spoke to a nice young lady and she agreed that the refrigerator needed to be replaced.... I chose to get a larger unit and pay the difference. My confidence in SEARS has been restored. I would not buy another refrigerator unless it had controls for the freezer and refrigerator.

Needed a replacement fridge that would fit in the area of my old one. Turns out this fit perfectly under the cupboards.. but still has a roomy interior with plenty of shelf and drawer space. Fast service, a quick delivery and installation.. and my new fridge is happily humming away at home.

New refrig replaced an old refrig in the basement. Runs quieter and is more efficient. Delivery service carried out old refrig and brought in the new refrig. Delivery on time as promised and was excellent.
This is the worst fridge and the longest wait for service I have ever experienced. The fridge looks nice but its compressor went bad after less than 9 months. First service call placed on Sept 25 and was scheduled for October 1st. The tech came just to find out what went wrong with it. Another service call placed after the parts arrived on Oct 5, and I was told no tech would be available until Oct 25 so the total wait time is 31 days. All my food got rotten and it is so inconvenient living without a working refrigerator. My previous one before this Kenmore was a GE and it lasted for 10 + years without any issue.
Size is made up of large freezer, small useless fridge part. Comes with a shelf; why?? its useless unless you never buy milk or large juice containers. If you do, then shelf must go right under small drawer which only allows a small shelf space of usage to the right. 1 good size drawer & 1 tiny drawer. I don't like it.

Have had two of these die on us in just over a year. The first was delivered and set up by Sears, and even on the coldest setting didn't keep temp below 45. Argued with customer service for two days (most of them didn't speak English beyond canned answers on a script). Sears wouldnt change it out. Had to have them come switch out our stove which had arrived badly damaged, and the delivery guy was kind enough to call for us and insist they switch out the fridge. Got a new one, and here we are 14 months later (fortunately for sears just outside the 1 year warranty), and the new fridge is dead. Won't get below 55 degrees and everything in the freezer is thawed. Between these 2 fridges we're out hundreds of dollars in spoiled food. Sears promised us money back on the food after the first fridge and never delivered. (We couldn't reach the person who promised this as we'd been through so many transfers). Don't waste your time dealing with Sears (remember, they damaged our stove too), or this awful product. Never again, Sears. You've lost us as customers for life, and we've not hesitated to tell everyone we know about this. Awful.
Looking over the comments - seems I'm one of the people who got the version of this fridge that is too cold. Food/drinks in main area freeze regularly - even when kept on the warmest setting. Only food in drawers will not freeze. Had the thermostat replaced twice - but still same problem. Seems to never stop running once it gets started. Have had gallon jugs of water freeze completely solid. I have had this fridge for 2 years at a rental home - so my direct experience had been limited until I lived there briefly this summer for 2 months. Wish my tenants had complained earlier about this. Don't know how they lived with it.
I ordered this frig for our snack room at work replacing a 17 yr old Magtag. This one is very roomy and so far so good. Runs quietly unlike the Kenmore I just bought for my home. I would have gotten this one for myself but didn't have the space for it.
This refrigerator runs very quietly, but watch out for the handle. The top of the refrigerator door handle is plastic and breaks easily. We have had ours for 10 months and have already had the handle break 9 times. I would not buy this model without the extended warranty.
the drawers are very cheaply made and flimsy. The refrigerator is noisy, and runs about every 1/2 hour. How can that be efficient?. We have to keep the controls on 4 to keep things cold. I wish I had my old refrigerator back.
Compared to my 1996 Kenmore, this one is quite inferior. There is only one temperature control **** and using the recommended setting would make all food spoil. My old Kenmore had heavy glass shelves with textured bronze trim that were adjustable within an inch. Chrome trim inside and out was standard. I can open the doors with my little finger and no effort, whereas a good grip and a tug was necessary on the older one. Not sure this means anything. Welcome 2013: most everything is plastic. I can only hope it really costs only $44 monthly to run!
After having this refrigerator for less than a week I am very unhappy with it. Miss the light in the freezer and the liquids don't seem to stay as cold as my old did. Also I keep popsicles in the freezer and they are almost mush. Not the traditional good products I have bought from Sears in the past.

Basic Whirlpool product, been in production many years with gradual changes. Made in Mexico, likely with some USA components. Retains electromechanical controls, so easy to service. DIYers can go to appliance411 website for great information on how appliances work and how to fix them, the Whirlpool DIY repair manual is P/N 677969. Not that you should have to fix anything soon. Note: all fridges will have parts fail- the most common is the defrost heater, and associated controls. They are not expensive and are easy to replace, or the service charge won't be too much. Just make sure to keep the internal vents clear (read the user's guide), yes temperature adjustments take time, and keep the coil under the unit clean of excessive dirt/lint/dog hair. Put a reminder in your email calender to clean it 2x a year.Maintain adequate space around the exterior of the unit. Hint: items placed at the back of the top shelf in fridge near the top vent from the freezer will get colder than other items. Enjoy the money you saved by investing it wisely so you can keep your fridge full when you are done working. Cheers.
I've been able to put all my little bottles, condiments, etc. on the door so they are always within view and easy reach. Fridge runs as often as my 18 year old Amana that was replaced. Same noise. Overall, so far I'm happy with the fridge.
I love this fridge.......it is quite......the only noise is when the ice cubes fall in the ice maker. It keeps our ice cream great. Love the door shelves for milk and juice etc. I'm 66 years old and I have always had top freezers and have NEVER had a light in the freezer nor have I ever seen one come with shelves in the freezer! I think that many that have those complaints had side by sides before so they are used to a light and shelves. You can purchase shelves that will work at the discount stores for just a few dollars if you feel you need them!!
The refrigerator door hangs and forms a gap at top of the of the refrigerator section. This is due to it not being able to hold milk jugs and juice like it shows in the display pictures. The door is not overloaded. Yet the door sags. The door has been adjusted several times with no change to the gap. There are gaps in the seams on the inside of both refrigeration chambers. I had to buy special refrigeration caulk, empty contents, thaw, insulate with caulk, wait for cure for 24 hrs, and wait another 24 hrs for unit to come to operating temperature. Aside from that, this unit, works great. Its quiet, looks good, keeps food at the right temperatures and makes a good amount of average sized ice. Although, I think that mine is not the average quality. I believe that it came that way from the factory and I did not noticed. Out of warranty. Got it for a great price of 500. I recommend this item, but make sure you inspect it thoroughly. Its also an energy star unit.
