Replaced my old Whirlpool that was 20 yrs. old, still running but was rusting on the exterior. I received my new stainless steel Kenmore 3 days ago and am very pleased. It runs so quiet that I kept checking on it to make sure it was running. The interior bins could be better. Plastic seems a little flimsy. No issues with door closure at all, in fact it makes a click when closing. I hope this one lasts as long as my old fridge.
Overall good product. Just wished the top shelf was 2 pieces instead of one piece. I would have liked to stagger the shelves. So far, product is wonderful. So happy the color matched my other appliances.
Bought fridge from local Sears store end of Nov. 2013 (brand new). Unit that arrived had scratches and some dents. Door would not close properly. Door made sound whenever it was opened or closed. Fridge handles cracked where they are screwed in to door after just a month. Sears repairman made three separate attempts between Jan. 11, 2014 and Feb 8, 2014 to repair it, but was unable to. Trying to return it - will be charged at least 15% of purchase price for "restocking fee" if successful. Feel I was sold a refurbished unit as a new one. Very frustrating process - never going to Sears again.

This was bought as a replacement for our fridge in our garage,we got a great price and it's not a bad size. I do think the freezer should be colder, but my husband says that it is okay.
I didn't expect too much from this model, given the price point, but I do expect it to work properly. From the beginning it was the loudest fridge we'd ever had -- making an intermittent loud knocking sound. We found out the motor needed to be replaced, just a few months after purchasing it. Since then, the knocking is mostly gone, but the temperature control is horrible. Things freeze in the refrigerator, despite turning the temp down. I have had to throw away lots of good food that got ruined. I cannot recommend this fridge to anyone.
Terrible product and should be recalled. Just check and believe the ratings!!! DO NOT make the mistake the rest of us did. Buy from ******** or another appliance store. Sears is not the store it used to be. The fridge and freezer are on the same compressor and thermostat. One is too cold or the other is too warm. Compressor died after one year. Look at the reviews......this is a common problem. Forget about ice cream storage. The has to be the worst engineered product out there. Dont know how they get away with selling such a substandard product.

On the plus side, it's very quiet. A few minuses - on the recommended energy saving fridge and freezer settings, the compartments are not cold enough according to my 2 fridge and freezer thermometers, not even close. I adjusted to make the compartments colder, they still are not the correct temperature yet. Another big minus - NO LIGHT IN THE FREEZER SECTION. I think you expect a light in the freezer section so you don't ask before you order it, and it doesn't say that in the description so you don't know until you get it. It's annoying.
We got this as our 2nd fridge and it has worked well. It has plenty of space and you can rearrange shelves in lots of ways. I can't find the dial to change freezer temperature, but it's probably in the manual. We got a model without an ice maker for two reasons: it was cheaper and it have us more freezer space. Sale price was good, but using my Sears card took another $109 off the price, with free delivery. I've had some problem with Sears delivery and broken items, but this was perfect delivery; on time and fast. So far, I love my fridge/freezer.
We needed a specific size 21.0 cu ft, with specific dimensions to fit in a unique spot at a price we could afford. This refrigerator fit our needs and we like it.
I've only had this product a week. sears made the online purchase and pickup easy. This Fridge has everything I wanted and I couldn't be happier. I brag about my savings with sears to everyone.
I've had this refrigerator since March 2012. I have replace the refrigerator handle 3 times so far. It keeps cracking where it screws in. The first time Sears replaced it because it was still under warranty. The second time it was only 2 months out of warranty and the third time I complained but didn't get anywhere. I was told they had not had any complaints about the handles. I see some on this review board so I know that's not true. Guess what? I'm about to replace the handle for a 4th time! I'm about ready to take the dang handle off and do without one!
The unit performs fine, but the shelf placement options do not accommodate commonly used container sizes. Even the door shelves are too small and narrow. Our previous model (same size kenmore) had much more efficient use of space. No light in freezer either. These should be standard on all models. Lunch meat drawer is not as deep as it used to be either.
I like my refrigerator. So far so good. The only thing that I didn't like is the fact that one drawer is deep and the one drawer is shallow. The drawer I like to put my vegetables in isn't big enough for the length of the carrots or celery. I purchased the refrigerator looking at the white one that was on the floor, so I was a little surprised by the look of the black one. I figured it would have been a shiny black but it is kind of dull. Another thing that I am not used to is the glass shelves. The salesperson mentioned they were nicer because food spills, but I found that you need to wipe them down more otherwise your refrigerator looks dirty. I wish the shelves on the door were stronger plastic, for I fear that they could get broken. That is okay, I still like it and I am not disappointed in my purchase.

The price on the Kenmore 21.0 cu. ft Top freezer refrigerator was very reasonable. I purchased this for a school booster club to be placed in a school. It is a small country school that does not have a lunch program. The students use it for their school lunches. The bottom vent cover fell off the first week of use, and a shelf on the door broke the second week. It is not made for heavy duty use, but for the price was still not a bad purchase.
