Needed for larger ground-engaging accessories
If you need a hitch, this is the only choice provided by Sears for current model yard and garden tractors. It's not perfect, but it gets the job done. For the smaller ground-engaging attachments, the products works fine. Two adjustable bolts on each side of the hitch pin adjust the side-to-side angle of attachments, but it's not a three point hitch so there is no built-in way to tilt one side of the attachment higher than the other. For accessories that require smaller hitch pins, the hitch can be removed in a minute by removing three cotter pins and their attachment pins, allowing access to the standard hitch pin hole on the tractor. Reinstallation is just as simple. The hitch is easy to assemble and can be installed and removed in minutes. It comes ready to accept the electric lift kit (currently $499 list) which is a necessity to provide downward pressure on attachments - especially if weighting them with bricks isn't doing the job. The lift handle is conveniently placed on the right side of the tractor but is not reversible for left-handed drivers. Since the handle sticks out past the rear wheel, it's possible to snag it on fencing and brush, but that hasn't happened - yet. The attachment pins seem excessively long, but work well regardless of how they look. 4 stars for utility, would give 5 stars if accessories with smaller hitch pins would fit (i.e. Craftsman utility trailers).

The Craftsman Sleeve Hitch needs to be replaced

I like the old Sears tractors with 3 point hitches and attachments they sold back in the late 1960's and 1970's.  The new garden tractors have cheap frames that feel like they will turn into a cork screw if you attempt to do something the old tractors would do.  They lowered the ground clearance on the sleeve hitch so you can't cultivate much at all without scalping the crops.  Even the old tractors needed more ground clearance.  The handle is cheap tubing that is in danger of being snagged on something.  I have heard several of the sleeve hitches have broken.  The impression I have is the designers trimmed all of the cost out and left customers with a tool they can't get much use of.

Sleeve hitch

Works well. The construction is a little lightweight but it does the job it is supposed to do. It was necessary to adjust the hitch and the implement a little to get it to work properly and lift to the correct height.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

sleeve hitch

The Craftsman sleeve hitch had to be slightly modified ( parts were included) for my Craftsman GT 5000. but it fit perfectly on my Toro. I thought that was odd. So I bought another for the Toro.

Easy hook up

good quality and easy hook up. bought to use with the box scraper and my only complaint is that it does not lift it up high enough and it drags on the ground when I hit any bump. Needs better adjustment but otherwise a very easy to use attachment

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Missing Parts

I probably would have rated this higher, but when the box arrived unopened or damaged I assumed everything was OK. The handle that was pre-assembled was missing the main bracket. The adjustment bar was missing also. The hardware bad was not sealed and it was missing many hardware pieces. Agri-Fab makes the part and they're making good on it, but the point is, what happened to quality and inspections?

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Nice!

Wasn't sure what to expect and as others have said, you don't have many choices. If you want to use attachments behind your GT - you need a sleeve hitch. Assembly is easy and the hitch is much Beefier than I had anticipated. Initial impression is GREAT. Installed and ready for work.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

It's inexpensive, but the only game in town for the money

On a 2012 CTX 9500, 30 HP Garden Tractor. I had to drill the frame to get it mounted and my Box Scraper dragged when raised. Then I had to get creative with heavier mounting hardware to raise it 2'" and still be solidly mounted. The steel is soft and the edges of the Hitch is dented from backing Cart and De-thatcher. I have an older Cat-0, 3-point Hitch, which is more versatile, that I'm modifying to to replace it. You need to be talented to mount this Sleeve Hitch securely at the proper height, on a CTX GT, so you can move dirt.

Craftsman Sleeve hitch is junk.

I purchased this item as well as a box scraper blade. the welds on the left side of the hitch broke in the first 30 minutes. The weld had no penetration into the steel. Called sears and got no help. Basically told to disassemble whole thing and return it for a replacement. I then called agrifab direclty and had a new part shipped. I decided to reweld the part that broke. Reassembled hitch and used it for about another 15 minutes when the other side broke. The is no possible way that sears is expecting this part to last. Very disappointed in the quality. If you decide to buy, better have access to a welder because you will need it.

Garden Tractor Sleeve Hitch should be standard equipment.

Sleeve Hitch is easy to install. It should be part of every Garden Tractor. Just pulling a Lawn Vac, the back of my new PGT9000 started to bend. I bought this just to keep from having to make a support for the tractor myself. The Sleeve Hitch itself will be useful this coming spring when I use my moldboard plow, now it is there if I need it. The mounting pins are too long and do not have extra holes. I drilled extra holes in all the pins.and used spacer washers to make mounting tight. Lower holes should have a longer sleeve welded to the frame to support the pins and stabilize the lower hitch assembley. The electric lift would have been nice, but the price is way out of line. I bought an electric hoist cylinder from another vendor for this hitch at about 1/4 the price.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Craftsman Garden tractor Sleeve Hitch, 3 hrs and done.

When using with a back blade to scrape it has no usable height setting, the handle goes way too far to the back when in the down position, and last but not least it broke in half after three hours of use. In short buy something else if you have serious yard/garden work to do.

Craftsman Garden Tractor Sleeve Hitch didn't last 4 days!

I purchased a Craftsman GT 6000 garden tractor in-store 2/25/2011. I purchased over $1,100.00 worth of accessories/attachments for it online the next day. We picked everything up at the store the afternoon of 3/1/2011.

The shoddy spot welds on the hitch broke early in the afternoon of 3/4/2011, after receiving less than three full days' worth of use. I then went to ******* and purchased what we needed to repair the welds.

If you purchase this item, make sure you have access to welding equipment. You are likely to need it. Otherwise, you'll be returning your hitch for another one that is constructed just as shoddily as the one that broke.
