Picked up the leaf blower as my long lived Craftsman blower gave out. Plug the new one in and it would not run. Took it back to the store and decided to exchange for another one but first requested the replacement one be checked out first. It too did not run. Two of two is why the unit gets a poor rating. I avoided any Craftsman model leaf blower to replace the replacement since the design looks to be from the same manufacture. The Toro is working as promised.
Had to give 1 star to submit a review but would give this blower/vac zero stars. I've owned several yard vacs and this is by far the worst. First, the bag tore after 2 uses.. so I taped it up with duct tape. Next, the zipper malfunctioned which rendered the unit unusable to pick up leaves. I used my purchase protection to get reimbursed for the $20 replacement bag. When the bag arrived, I find out it's not Craftsman brand but a "replacement" bag. The bag fit the vac but the replacement did not have the proper plastic "tooth" to deactivate the safety switch on the unit. Finally got it to work by combining the tooth from the old bag. After 1 more use, the motor died....awesome. My last vac was a Black & Decker Leaf Hog that lasted about 8 or 9 years. This piece of **** lasted exactly 4 uses over about 2 months. Sure the purchase protection reimbursed me the full price but it breaks down like this: Initial purchase: $70 Purchase protection plan: $10 New bag (which did not work): $20 TOTAL PRICE: $100 Reimbursed: $70 I'm down $30 and picking up leaves by hand!!! Totally awesome!!! Never buy this product unless you want to spend a bunch of time on the internet filing a claim, boxing up the crappy unit, taking it to UPS and ending up with a broken vac. Save yourself the frustration and buy a Black & Decker.... it's what I should have done.
This leaf blower is much more powerful than what is being replaced, yet still light-weight. There are several attachment tools and a vacuum bag included. There is a safety feature requiring an attachment tool for power which is not well documented, but now that is understood. This also made light work of blowing snow, where not deep enough for shoveling. I have no affiliation with Sears or Craftsman products except as a customer. However, I may be offered a small award for reviewing this product.

Nice working leaf blower.Works well and it is not heavy when using it. Will recommend to a friend to buy this good Quality Blower--Works well for blowing my leaves in my yard .
Compared to the previous cheap blowers this is far better. 1) Noise is lower compared to others 2) Variable speed works well 3) Vacuum works well as well Cons 1) CFM is low compared to other blowers so won't be as powerful.
I received this item on very good deal.Plus it is craftsman product that i always love. it works for my 1000 sq ft yard. I will recommend to buy 14 gauge 100 ft exterior use cable with this item. If you have bigger yard you should go with gas powered blower.
It really blasts so I'm glad it's variable speed. Nice ergonomics but a little heavier than some others, my suspicion (or hope!) is that it's due to a heavier duty motor, etc. They need to fix that description about the cord because that little pig tail is barely long enough, no way I could get a double-loop interlock with the cords per the manual; I was able to get a single loop on the extension cord side and finagle my extension cord just enough into the cord retention piece for it to hold properly. The mulcher latch could use a redesign as the mulcher door sometimes would open after setting it on the ground. This one may be worth the extra money vs. the two-speed model, how else to explain the significant price difference when they otherwise look and weigh nearly the same. I suspect it has a heavier duty motor and maybe other components like the mulcher assembly (note the higher reduction ratio and slightly higher air speed). A sales person at my store also claimed it was heavier duty. Full disclosure: I haven't used it to mulch anything yet. I don't plan on using it much for mulching because I have way too many leaves (half acre lot with big old trees), probably just landscape bed clean-up, etc.

I bought this item to blow the leaves away from my patio. I have a pecan tree and my neighbor's trees really piles up the leaves. Last year I raked 23 large bags of leaves. I am very happy with this blower/vac I was able to vac and mulch a lot of leaves in a very short time and with a lot less bags. It vacs and mulches fast without getting the leaves stuck. It even mulched small twigs. I am very happy with this product. The value and the price was perfect
Purchased this Leaf Blower/Vac because I was in need of one for my yard. It's a small yard and I would rather have the consistency of full power, as opposed to a battery powered model which not work as well as the charge is used up. It works great for my needs and I would definitely recommend it. In addition unless you know you'll want the variable speed the non-variable model will work just as well. 9 times out of 10 I switch this blower from off to full speed so I probably could have opted for the other version as well. If mine ever bites the dust or needs replacing I won't hesitate to buy the same leaf blower/vac again.

Ordered one on line for store pickup. I plugged it in and nothing. Blower was dead. I returned it to the store, and the store clerk pulled another one from stock and plugged it into power. Blower was dead. The store had no more inventory. Stupidly I went to another Sears store and bought another one. Plugged it in using a heavy duty extension cord. Blower was dead. Before I returned it to the store, I took the item to a Sears repair center, and they did not know why it would not work. After returning it to the store the sales clerk pulled two blowers from inventory and plugged them in, all were dead. At that point I bought a Toro. Knowing the quality of the Craftsman brand It is hard to believe that Sears would allow a defective product like this to reach the shelf.
Bought this machine for vacuum and mulching purpose but the vacuum and mulching option doesn't have much power to sucks-up the leaves because i have to many big trees with big leaves . I guess this vacuum and mulch option are only good if you have small trees with little leaves. I have never used the blower yet because i have another blower. I bought this machine only for vacuum and mulching

love the variable speed control. easy to use your thumb while blowing. the only thing I didn't like was the way the vac . bag vents when in use especially if leafs are quite dry. Bag empties very good after a full.
