If youre wanting a hurricane, this isnt for you. This leaf blower works great for blowing things off of your side walks and driveways but struggles to blow things out of the grass. If you take the tip off it will help move more air but its still nothing compared to a good gas powered unit. If you dont expect this unit to blow heavy amounts of leaves out of thick grass, you'll be a happy camper.
This unit is a blower and a vacuum which will make yard clean up very easy. It is a powerful unit and can move a lot of air, which means a lot of leaves and small twigs. I even used it to blow years worth of pine needles out from under a tree.
I bought this product as a Christmas gift for my father. He has already used it and he loves it. This is perfect for him to use around the house and yard. It is lightweight yet powerful enough to get the jobs he needs done. I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for an affordable and good quality product. Besides, you can never go wrong with Craftsman!!
I got this unit on June of 2012 so far it is ok. First the blower is ok, not as advertised with 240 mph, that will be cat 5 hurricane speed, truth is maybe 170 mph, maybe less due to the exhaust pipe is not completely sealed and air goes out thought the joints overall ok, and the extension cord is not 7 ft it is just 3 to 4 inches, long. Second and the disappointment the mulcher function is not that good, I have a two Syracuse trees their leaves are big and if the intake pipe takes too many at the same time, it will clogged very easily. I have to be careful not to pick a pile and a lot people complain about the dust it is true so wear a mask. the ratio is like 12 to 14 to 1, but the propeller is very good been metal. In the past I had blowers with plastic propeller and they break after the second winter. The zipper in the bag it is very low quality, it jams very easily and now I just used in the second winter the zipper is not capable to close anymore. In the past the mulch bags came with steel zipper, but this one is terrible the material of the bag is very bad. I spend all day talking with different departments in Sears to find a replacement because it is not cover by the warranty, until finally in customer service in parts she was able to find it. Do not try the phone on the product it has change. The part number is 31103148 it cost $18 plus shipping and handling and taxes and the actual model for the blower in case needs parts for it is 138.74898 do not go by the model number in your receipt or in the website. I hope this may help to decide to buy this product

this item again is a crafstman that is high quality, i like the electric blower, first because it's easy to use, it has the power to get the job done, it's works whether it's cold or hot, very easy to start.
Handle is very awkward to use compared to previous models. Bottom of unit tends to suck in debris if you get to close to the ground. Rotating fan blades are to exposed and this could lead to an accident. Has adequate power for wet leaves and small jobs

Bought this because I needed and wanted a blower with variable speed. Got a super great deal on it! Just used it to clean the yard. The low speed on this blower sucked up all the leaves without picking up the gravel rocks! Saves me hours of work!
The primary advantage to this portable electric blower is exactly that: light weight, portable, easy set-up, and no fusing with gas/oil mix. Maybe not as powerful as a backpack, but much more handy for quick cleanups

Years in service at a residence and now taking up a new residence and needing a trusted friend of purpose in a large yard with maple trees, the blower vac purchase was made by 11 AM and put into service by noon. Over the years, I've trusted Sears for my lawn needs. In a new state, they were just a short scenic drive away.
This does a great job on both blowing and mulching, with the exception of an unexpected amount of leaf dust blowing through the walls of the bag. Great design and value.
This is the best, i live in the country so need i say more. This is more then just a back saver. it also helped me save time. It gets in places that i can not reach, and will suck them up in a flash. This has just the right weight and power that i needed. Would also make a great gift.
I used this tool to vacuum up and mulch the leaves in my driveway and yard. It only took a few hours with no raking. The unit was easy to use and worked beautifully. The average of 20 large can liners of leaves was reduced to only two trash cans and one bag. Wonderful machine!
Just what I needed for my carport & yard. My 13+ year old gas blower is getting fussy. This is easy to use for blowing leaves off my concrete areas. It's lite & does a good job on leaves. It is not quite as good on mulching. The air outflow when mulching is on the top. I was covered in dirt after using it for just a few hours.

I'm an Executive Gardener, Contractor, and Landscape Architect and I love Craftsman Tools in my kit. I bought this blower because I have a few clients in cities that don't allow blowers over 55db, and no professional grade gas blower goes that low yet. Sears lists this one as 54.4 and I keep the spec sheet in my truck. For an electric blower it has plenty of power for residential purposes and I really like the variable speed for when I'm in tight spaces or finishing a pile. It has better control than my gas blower. It's relatively light weight and the suction works well too. Still, I am greatly disappointed in the cord attachment function. Sears lists that it comes with a 7' (foot) cord and a cord lock. WRONG!!! The cord on mine is only 4" (inches), which isn't even enough to tie a not with, and there is no cord lock. The major down fall of electric devices, is that the cord is cumbersome, catches and falls out. Sears BLEW it on this one. I make due by wrapping the cord through the handle for now but this too get irritating during use. It's a good tool, but Sears needs to do a better job on proofing the text of the items they advertise, for both technical correctness and grammar.
