Be Patient!
I just installed two snow thrower cabs - one on my 5.0 h.p. MTD two-stage thrower and one on my father-in-law's Craftsman 9.0 h.p. two-stage thrower. I am impressed with the quality of this product - sturdy, lightweight, easy to remove, etc. My advice is to be patient, especially with the first couple of steps. Since the snow thrower cab is a universal fit product and meant to fit a number of different snow throwers, you will have to spend some time configuring the initial mounting hardware to your specific model. There was some trial and error and fine-tune adjustments needed, but eventually you find the right fit. Once the mounting hardware is installed, the rest of the installation goes fast until you install the canvas cab. Keep this part inside (if installing during colder weather) so it is more flexible and easy to work with. It is definitely a tight fit, but that is necessary to keep wrinkles to a minimum. The cab does fit, but it takes some time and patience and maybe even a second person to help pull. You almost feel like you are going to tear the cab at the seams, but in the end, it fit fine and adds to the overall strength. There are two quick-detachable pins that can be removed and then the entire cab can be lifted off and stored. I am looking forward to cleaning the driveway without snow being blown into my face and down my collar. Again, be patient with this product and plan on a couple of hours to do a quality installation. If you're trying to install the cab in a rush, you will just get frustrated and mad, but if you take your time, you will be satisfied! By the way, this is not a Craftsman product, rather a product made by Classic Accessories, Inc. Please remember to keep those hands out of the auger housing, especially if your snow thrower is jambed or plugged . . . use a broom or clean-out tool. It's not worth losing a hand or fingers. Have a safe snow removal season!!!

I had a horrible time installing this cover
I had little trouble putting the frame together and attaching it to my Craftsman snow thrower, but putting the cover over the frame was a nightmare. It was too small - I tried adjusting the frame, but it didn't help - maybe if it were 100 degrees out the thing would have streached easier, but I just bought it in December and its cold out. The cover should have been larger over all. I know that they will say that it's my fault, but the thing just would not stretch over the frame without help and much more effort than it should have taken. I will say that after it is now on - it will most likely protect me from blowing snow.

A must have for harsh weather climates

As goofy as the product may look or sound, it is a great addition to your snowblower for those that live in harsh winter climates. Before I bought this when I lived more north to help cut down on wind and snow blow back into my face. It works great. It is bulky, which is the only down side. Most sears stores have one attached to a floor model snowblower so that you can see what it looks like in person.

Quite Surprised!

At first glance the packaging and minimal instructions can throw you. But lay it all out and take your time. It's almost better to go it alone than have any help. The cab is everything it should be. Canopy fits tight on the framework and the framework is solid to the snowthrower. I just wish there were curtains on the back side for full enclosure. Once assembled it's easy on and easy off with just a couple of clips. I especially like the sandbag they include for balast on the front end. I would recommend this.

Leave it loose

Assembly is a lot easier if you leave everything loose til you finish, especially the nut and bolt at the top if you want to get the cover on. Easy on and off for storage. Nice product.

Snow thrower cab

Great when the wind is blowing the snow, especially wet snow or mix of rain and snow. Very bulky to manuever into a garage or storage area after it has been errected. Hard to reach controls to shift gears on my Sears machine or to turn the chute from side to side. But, I do like it for the most part. I am going to get another for the big machine also from Sears.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Don't wait too long to put together!

The finished product is very nice. A short project took several hours. Thank goodness for pictures. Took a while to get the height adjustments. Cab fits really tight and took quite a bit of time trying to get it to fit. Seems like it could tear out at the seams. Time will tell. Craftsman always dependable products and with our Iowa winters I think this will be well work the money spent on the cab and blower.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Worth the effort!

I installed and used this product last winter. It took some time and patience. There are so many different machines out there, but the hardware allows for many applications. It takes some trial and error, but the effort is worth it. There are others out there, but just the pictures alone will tell you they are junk. Manufacturers models are over priced and are of no better quality. May be a little easier to install. One season of not having snow blow back in your face will make it all worth while.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
