Water Filtration and Cooler Systems for Clean, Healthy Water
Water is essential for a healthy body. It transports nutrients, aids in metabolism, helps regulate temperature and assists in the elimination of waste. People who don't drink enough water can suffer from headaches, muscle cramps, constipation and even kidney problems, whereas those who drink plenty tend to have healthier skin, more energy, better digestion and fewer migraines. For these reasons, doctors have been recommending for years that we drink eight glasses of water a day. Unfortunately, most people drink far less than that. The most common reasons for this are that tap water doesn't taste good or that it has too many chemicals and minerals in it.
With a water cooler or filter system from Sears, water tastes better and is healthier, so getting enough fluids is easy. The water system that is best for your house depends on factors such as your budget, space considerations, and whether you want both hot and cold filtered water. For many people, water coolers are the perfect option. They are convenient and easy to use, and some of them are portable enough to be moved from room to room or taken to a new residence. Many models can provide hot water as well as cold, making them ideal for people who enjoy coffee and tea. Another option is a point-of-use water cooler, which eliminates the need to mess with water bottles.
Under-sink water filter systems are also a popular type of home water system. They are hidden in the cabinet under the kitchen sink, so they take up very little space. Like point-of-use water coolers, these systems connect to a home's water line. Instead of providing water through a separate cooler unit, however, they route it through a secondary tap on the sink. The water is filtered to remove inorganic materials, harmful microorganisms and offensive odors, and the tap generally provides good water flow. Some under-sink filters come with a reverse-osmosis system for superior filtration.
One of the least expensive types of water systems is a faucet-mount water filter. Because they screw directly into the tap, these filters can be installed by a homeowner in seconds. There is no secondary tap that needs to be drilled into the countertop and no need to make space under the sink. Faucet-mount systems are also the smallest type of water filter, which means that they are the easiest to move. The filters don't last as long as under-sink filters, but they also don't cost as much to replace. A water filter pitcher is similar in price to a faucet-mount, and it can be placed in the fridge to provide the family with ice-cold filtered water. Unlike a faucet-mount, however, a pitcher requires frequent refilling.
