Beat old man winter with snow removal equipment that clears your drive in record time

When the temperatures plummet and your weather instruments are spinning out of control, you know it's going to be a long morning clearing your driveway and digging your car out of the snow. Of course, things don't have to be that difficult. Modern snow removal equipment makes even the toughest snowstorm easier when you find something that fits your needs and budget. From snow shovels to plow attachments, winter won't be such a pain if you are fully prepared for anything your weather station can dish out.

Even if you love snow removal toys and machines, it never hurts to have a few basics stocked in your garage. Ice melt capsules can get the ball rolling and keep things from getting dangerous when the forecast calls for sleet and wintry mix. While some ice melt containers hold salt, others feature a complex mixture of chemicals that help keep slippery conditions at bay no matter how cold it gets. Once you have the ice under control, invest in a good shovel. Snow blowers can get into a lot of places, but you don't really need all that power for an inch of the white stuff. Opt for a sturdy snow shovel with an ergonomic handle so that you can maintain good form and save your back as you clear the sidewalk.

For the tougher storms, you will need something with a little more power. A snow blower is just the ticket for deep and difficult snow. While snow blowers come in all shapes and sizes, the most popular models are usually a couple of feet wide and propel the snow off to the side of the device. Push-behind models require a little bit of effort from you, but generally do a great job of clearing several inches of snow. If you live in a place that deals with several feet of snow on a regular basis, you may want something a little more heavy-duty. Large snow blowers are great but still require manpower and frequent use during blizzards. Plow attachments for your truck or riding mower are a much nicer option if you want to sleep through the night and deal with the blizzard in the morning. Once you've attached the plow to your vehicle for the winter, all you have to do is turn the ignition to get the plowing started.

There are also several smaller tools available to help you clear snow from many different areas. Car snow removal accessories are great for clearing windshields and getting you to work on time after even the worst storms. Roof snow removal tools help keep your home from caving in under the weight of heavy snowfall. Smaller tools are also great for clearing out garden spaces and porches, when a snow blower just seems like overkill.
