Been Using for Six Months
Six months ago, we had remodeled our kitchen. The contractors ran new wire for all the appliances we purchased from Sears. The contractor had the stove top installed quickly. The unit does a great job cooking. You will have to get use to it. We have had both electric and gas stove tops in the past and this is so much better. Don't believe the stories that you can touch the cooktop immediately and it will be cool. Nothing is ever "cool". You won't get burned, but it isn't cool. Purchasing new pots and pans can be a real treat. We went with the Avalon brand and it works great. They are expensive. We tried the Kenmore brand, but the non stick isn't really non stick. Highly recommend this unit.

Buyer Beware
This is a a fantastic cooktop, with some fatal flaws. When it works, its the best thing since sliced bread. Nothing beats it. We had ours installed, and that same evening, the one side stopped working. Called repair, they sent a nice gentleman out, who said he needed to replace the entire circuit board. Back a week later to replace, that didnt work either. Called in and they replaced the entire unit a few days later. So glad I followed the advice found on these boards about purchasing the extended warranty. This is made by Electrolux for Sears, and based on reveiws on the web, doesnt have great reliability, which is odd, as this is not new technology. I have now spent 3 days of my life waiting for the repair/installation people which I will never get back, so again, buyer beware.

DO NOT BUY

I purchased this year and 1/2 ago, worked great up till a few days ago. Now it has a error code on the range resulting in it not working at all just blinks error. Called Sears service tech, he tells me be ready for a heavy bill as the unit is basicaly like a computer. Then tells me it may cost more to repair and you may want to buy a new unit and went on to say it will just keep having issues if I do fix it. So now I have a $1500 paper weight and I'm going to buy a new NON-Induction unit. DO NOT BUY!!!!!

Read this before buying.

Induction technology is amazing. You will not be disappointed by the performance, short term. Do your homework, look at other Kenmore induction ranges. The high reviews are because there is no other stove that compares, the low reviews are that they all tend to fail before their reasonable life should expire, 5-7 years, which is typically outside of the extended warranty period. If you are okay with spending 2K on a stove that will last 5-7 years, buy it . If not, look elsewhere.

Induction Cooking

This is a great cooktop. Boils water faster than a microwave. All digital controls which raises or lowers the heat almost instantly. Easy cleanup because the range cooking surface remains cool. Induction cooking is the way to go.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Kenmore Electric Induction Cooktop

I like the stove top. It is taking a little getting used to how quickly things cook on this type of stove, but we are getting used to it. Food cooks much quicker than with the the coil stove top I had in the past. The only issue is finding pots that will work with this stove. I have been carrying a magic with me to make sure the pots are magnetic and will work with this type stove top.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

The Kenmore Electric Induction Cooktop

Absolutely love how fast this cooktop heats up items and the fact that I can easily control the temperture just like a gas cooktop. I love that it doesn't get hot and there is no chance for little fingers getting burned.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
