C2150 Continuous Update
Week 1 - I assembled myself and it took about 90 minutes. It was very easy to assemble. Unit is really heavy, but that's a good thing. The construction seems solid. For the price, you would think that the speakers would be higher quality, they are mediocre at best. The fan is noisy, but the most effective fan I've seen on a treadmill. It looks like a car vent and you can aim it anywhere you want. The console works great and lives up to it's description. Computer is an android device with on screen keyboard. The video runs are beautiful, but the workouts that are associated with them are crazy (really fast, then ridiculously slow, incline setting all over the place). It's also hard to see the screen because the console is too far away and the screen is not angled towards you (I'm 5' 9, think it would be better if I was 6' 3). If you are close enough to watch the screen you will more than likely step on the motor hood. The belt is good, but not great. The suspension seems fine, but a little too bouncy for my liking, it's probably good for the joints though. This treadmill comes with nothing that explains how to connect it with ifit live. I'll give it a 4 because of the console position is causing me to step on the motor hood. It's disappointing for the price. Update - To access ifit you must register on ifit.com (that was a given). After you resgister, then everytime you get on the treadmill there will be a login button on the start screen of treadmill. You must touch that and enter login info. The google maps are awesome. I ran on street's in Ireland and France the last few days. You can see the base of the Eiffel Tower from street view. I've tried to do an incline walk on the treadmill now. If you hold onto the heartrate grips while in incline, you will step all over the motor hood (my shoe size is only 9.5 mens). As cool as the console is, the treadmill design has some flaws. Update - I've gotten used to the screen and where the motorhood is. Still can't give it a 5 because of the position, but this treadmill is pretty awesome. No pain in my shins is a good thing. Over Promises and Under Delivers; Poor Customer Service
From the specs, this sounds like a good- even break through- treadmill. Unfortunately, reality is a bit different on this treadmill. The idea of training on any road, anywhere in any weather was very appealing to me. Winter is cold in SLC, and I do not want to run much outside in 5 degree weather. So my wife and I got this NordicTrack. As a treadmill, the NordicTrack works- that is about the best I can say for it. It is not accurate in speed or distance, nor does it try to be. All the "extras"- the Live View runs and the HD runs- are cool when they work- which is not that often. The software is buggy and resets often. Customer Service direct from NordicTrack is among the worst I have ever experienced blaming the customer for every problem and not offering any fixes for any problem ever. The first thing I noticed once it was all set up and working was that I was running faster than I normally do. Surprisingly faster. Substantially faster. Impossibly faster. With that, and the belt slipping on me as I ran, I thought it was a good time to check out Customer Service and see how they dealt with problems. CS is the first major failing of this (or any) NordicTrack device. Both my problems were MY problem and not theirs, dispute this being a brand new machine. They told me how to adjust the speed sensor, but not how to set the speed accurately (which, for training, is important to me). When pressed, they said it was not their concern, and if I wanted them to come out, they would- for 100 dollar fee. On a brand new machine? Not acceptable. So I ran a few more days, and tried the HD video runs. Oh- be aware! Despite the implication that there are 100's of HD Video runs... there are only 2. That?s it, just two. And you better like Hawaii for that. So I ran one, and it reset at 16 minutes. Then it reset and restarted. No problem, I wanted a long run, so I figured I would just do the run again. The machine hung up again, at the same place... but this time the whole machine just locked up. The belt stopped and sent me flying. What did CS say? This is a quote: "It sounds like a software problem." That's it. No fix, no timeline for a fix... just a denial of the problem. And there, my friends, are the first and most major problem with ANY NORDICTRACK- Customer Service that denies you anything. They do not step up and take any responsibility. As you can see, they blame everything on the customer, and make it the customer?s job to fix problems they should be responsible for. Oh, and when I found the heart rate monitor to provide wildly fluctuating readings (it would shoot to 190 and fall to 20, go to 60, then 160, then 90)... CS just said it was there for reference and not meant to be accurate. NOT MEANT TO BE ACCURATE? What kind of customer service is that? So I asked to return it, and CS said that none of these problems were recognized and sufficient to return the device. Basically, these were EXPECTED and ALLOWED problems, and not considered out of the ordinary. My runs started getting longer. Once I started hitting hour-long runs, more bugs started showing up. At about 45-1 hour into a run, the buttons stopped working. Both the "+" and "-" speed and the direct speed control went dead... no matter what I pushed, the speed would not change (video at: http://www.animatedword.com/IMG_0037.mov) So I did a reset on the software, and tried to re-set-up the touch screen. Touch screen went dead. So now I finally got them to come pick this up for a full refund. From other stories I have seen on the internet, this is the sort of problem that causes the treadmill to be down for months because they "cannot get the parts." I did not want to risk that! So back this goes, and I will be content with a treadmill that just works. I think this could be a good treadmill- it has the size, hp and all. But the software is not ready for prime time. It drops and works very quirky. But the biggest problem with NordicTrack is their poor customer service... and that they do not take any responsibility for their own manufacturer defects. I do not want to reward a company like that. So I will just get a good treadmill that works- that is accurate in speed. I may not be able to run in Paris tomorrow, but at least I will have an accurate gauge if how far and how fast I really went. And the treadmill will work for my whole run, not just the first 16 minutes!

Really nice piece of equipment

This is a great treadmill. Fairly quiet at walking speeds - a little loud at running speeds. The fan is great. The screen has a sharp, clear picture. Came with a free year of iFit, which is nice, but it definitely has its problems. However, that does not affect the performance of the treadmill. An easy 5 stars.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Strong Treadmill

The NordicTrack 2150 is a solid treadmill. The incline / decline feature work well to exercise different muscle groups. The motor is strong enough o handle my 6'5" 230 pound frame. My wife who is 5'4" (I won't give the weight) loves it too. Our disappointment is the tablet console and the heart rate monitor. We had high hopes of tracking our progress on Ifit.com - the heart rate monitor just doesn't work. Probably because the range is too short for actual usage. The table console is useless. But the treadmill is a strong performer. Wish we could have been able to purchase the treadmill without the useless tablet. We would have ought a tablet for 399 and created our own apps.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

So far not good

Well waited for this machine to arrive. Once Sears assembled it they turned it on and the console was on and the belt running. Once they left I turned on the fan and that didn't work. Called Sears they said they would be back the next day to check it out. They did just that looked at it for 5 seconds and said they could call for repair or exchange it. I chose for them to exchange for a new one. What also is happening is that the console lights up all by its self without the key in it, it never turns off. I had to unplug the machine. New one comes tomorrow, I will see how that one works.

Wonderful Treadmill!!!

I purchased this treadmill because I wanted a sturdy treadmill that was not flimsy. My daughter tried this model out in the store and it was great. She is a runner, so it had to be sturdy enough for running. We were sold on this model. It is very high quality. It is heavy and built very well. I do not care about i-fit. I have read the reviews and found that many people have trouble with i-fit, and sometimes it causes problems with the machine, so I have not even bothered with it. When I walk on the machine the screen shows a picture of a track and you can watch your progress. This machine allows you to move up in speed in increments, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 etc. which is great. The fan also works wonderfully, and really cools me off. If you want a great quality treadmill this is it. I got ************* and two men set it up in less than a half hour, which was free. It has been working perfectly for several weeks. I got the extended service contract in case of any problems.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

waste of time/money

after spending 2 hours assembling, this treadmill has been nothing but a technological headache (and i teach technology). It connected to my high speed wifi easily enough, but will not update the software. i continue getting error messages that it's not connected despite having a full green indicator icon. So, following the manual, i went to the ifit website to try to update using a flashdrive. there is no software update, only bug fixes for other models, but no updates to grab. in addition, after reading in the online forum for ifit people have spent weeks with similar issues for this machine out of the box without ever being able to run on their machines. i am so disappointed because this machine looks like it would be a fabulous training piece. i was hesitant to try NordicTrack and now, i am certain i will never buy one. returning mine!

Love it!

I just logged my first 90min on my treadmill. My old Nordic Track died last week after 13 yrs of great service! I immediately went back to Sears to look at a new one and decided on this one. I am going to give it 5 stars right now based on my first workout. I will revise it if I have any issues down the road. We received free delivery on this item and the delivery guys assembled. We went through the set up process by following the manual and it was quite easy. This calibrated the firmware and the incline. The quadflex cushioning system is very noticeable and will be great for my knees. I actually think the fan works quite well, and for a treadmill, the speakers are pretty darn good. I'm not sure what others are expecting out of a treadmill but I am quite impressed. I did buy an extended warranty because the reviews did scare me a bit. I hope to never have to use it and that we get the same value we got out of our first Nordic Track treadmill. I'm SO happy.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Love the machine, be sure to read other dates of other reviews

Promised I would leave feedback after running 100+ miles on our first treadmill. My wife is a marathon runner, I'm not. Buying a treadmill was the most frustrating experience ever. Reviews all over the place, mostly negative reviews by the minority, etc. We bought the C2150 after going into a Sears store to buy the 1750c. Solid reviews on the the c1750, just felt cheap compared to the 2150. Box weighs 380 lbs, 2 people is definitely recommended, especially hooking up the console. Setup takes 30 minutes, everything was included plus extra. Machine started up great, picked up wireless signal great, firmware update was quick and pain free. Fan is great, speakers are hollow, but software is exactly as promised. iFit is as cool as you want to make it. Free 1 yr included, $99 a yr beyond that, plus you have to buy additional maps. Runs smoothly, incline is great, decline amazing. Don't buy to surf internet while walking/running. Belt cover does get in the way, limited apps

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Amazing machine!

I love this machine! Disclaimer - I bought from NordicTrack, but wanted to share. Ok, it arrived with the incline/decline not working, but customer service was great, they are sending a new motor the same day I called in, a tech already called me and gave me his personal cell as soon as my motor arrives. Otherwise it works perfectly. iFit works great. I had no problems with the wireless signal, and I'm 1 floor and several walls from my wireless router. It is incredibly sturdy and well built. The android browser is awesome, worked flawlessly. Streaming videos from youtube and everything. I will say, running fast, it isn't practical to type on the touchscreen though, so you'd need to slow down or do that before you begin. Otherwise, other buttoms are easy to navigate, just not typing words/websites. I love it!!!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Don't be mislead by the big "tablet"!!!!

An android powered tablet on a treadmill, great idea, if it were really a tablet... Yes, you can connect to the internet via wifi very easily, but you are VERY limited on things you can do. NO NETFLIX, NO HULU, NO ****** PRIME INSTANT VIDEOS, NO PANDORA, NO iHEART RADIO!!! All of which are reasons I chose this very very very very expensive treadmill. The treadmill itself is rock solid, but without the full benefits of a real tablet, who cares. Since my 3 year old can watch and do more on his $149 kindle fire, guess I will see if i can borrow that to lay over the useless tablet provided with this nearly $2000 treadmill.
