TracFone  TracFone Pre-Paid Mobile Phone LG 500G GSM

I'm a huge fan of pre-paid (with Tracfone since 1999) and phones have come a long way since my STARTAC 5000! My favorite feature of 500G is the custom menu that let's you add 5 shortcuts. The stock photo shows typical Prepaid menu but the custom menu is far better. Keyboard is easy to use. Sound quality is a 3 outof 5 stars but it's fine if you have good hearing or use an earpiece. Bluetooth works great with my car (Microsoft's Blue & Me) 500G has two lock settings, one for keypad and one for power/on/off. The keypad lock is necessary to prevent pocket dialing - turn on keypad lock the minute you get your phone. This phone is slender and easily slips into your pocket and is well-built, as I've dropped it a couple of times with no problem! Highly recommend this model.

I am a firm believer in pre-paid cell phones for people like me that don't constantly have a phone in their ear and don't text constantly. They keep me on track with expenditures too. So, I love this phone! I've tried other pre-paid phones that do not keep enough bars in all locations. This one does! I've yet to have an issue with no signal, and I live in the mountains! Plenty of bars to call on or receive calls. You can't beat that. To my surprise it was an easy phone to setup and use too. The only option I can't seem to find (if they have it) or can't figure out how to do (not surprising), is how to turn it off. It will sleep fine and wake fine, but I haven't found a way to turn it off yet. I have searched online, since the documentation isn't that extensive, and haven't found a way, so I am coming to the conclusion that there is no off button. The upside though is you can find further documentation should you need it. But, I can deal with that. As for battery life, with it being new, I've gone a couple of weeks or more with no need to recharge, which is something that my previous pre-paid phones couldn't hold a candle to. And, although it looks like the buttons are really small, they are easy to use too. Maybe small-looking, but they really aren't bad for me at all, so don't let that fool you. I definitely recommend this phone for the casual cell phone user.

The phone is great! It works as advertised. It's better to buy the phones from a local K Mart, as you will get a phone that will work best in your area (AT&T in this area).. I bought a TracFone online and got a phone with a T Mobile chip which didn't work well for me. The K Mart sale price on this phone sweetened the deal. I liked this phone so well that I bought another TracFone from K Mart.

I bought this phone and it is the best one I have had so far, I have bought some accessories for it to make it work better and I love it.

This phone has larger screen display holds the signal when my other model tracfones failed; it also has a battery that does not require frequent charging, and the battery life is very much longer.

I have been a tracfone user for many years and have upgraded many times. At first it was a hassle but now it takes less than hour to transfer to a new phone.

The LG 500G is a good phone for people who like a long battery life and a full qwerty keyboard. The phones music capabilities are a disappointment due to the low limit of a 4GB micro-SD card, combined with very slow performance. It takes about a minute or so to bring up your music if you have a few Gigabytes of songs on your phone. If your looking for a good cheap music phone, look elsewhere.

This is one of tracfones best phones yet.  Three texts per minute, international calling at great rates, who could ask for more.  OK, how can anyone over the age of 50 ask for more.  It's a phone, it's a camera, it has great coverage and it's backed by tracfone.  It even has a real keyboard for those times you want to send a text.  Fit's my hand well.

Buy one.  You'll see why tracfone is the best prepaid provider.
