GE  X500 Power Pro Series Digital Camera- Black

i bought this camera for my daughter for a gift and we can not get any batteries to work in it we have tried all brands and it still wont work we talked to a service rep. at ge and all they say is try different batteries we are tired of buying batteries we take about 6 pictures and it goes dead help is anyone else experience this problem

I received the camera for Christmas last year (2011) and I was not happy with the lense cover not staying on but it seemed to take great pictures unless you completely zoomed out and they were blurry. The camera froze up once or twice but I thought that was the batteries (which I did not like having to change batteries so offten) even though I just changed them a couple days earlier. This was only preparing me for the ultimate message I would get "Lens Obstruction". I spoke with GE and they said to return the camera, so we had the extended warranty and I am now looking for another camera. Even though I have missed taking pictures at several grandchildrens birthdays, twin nieces birth ahd holiday family picutres. If the camera worked properly I would have loved it.

I got this camera for my 13th birthday back in 2009 and I'm now about to turn 16 so if this camera can withstand being left in the car on a hot summer night or day without me realizing it and can take a little water to it and a few hits,drops and bumps. I think it's worth it.You won't go wrong.However the lens cap is very loose it will uncap it's self easily. I recenetly dropped my beloved camera and my button fell off that takes pictures. So if you know you are clumsy I reconmend an extended warranty. Other than that If it can handle a 13 year old girl who is super forgetful and somewhat clumsy and can last with her to her 16th birthday I think the GE X500 Power Pro is a GREAT BUY!

This camera is awesome.  It does what other more expensive digital cameras do at a fraction of the price.  It's durable and takes wonderful pictures and moveis.  I use this all the time; for every day pictures to those that can never be replaced. 

First the product specifications on this page say this camera does not have video recording but it actually has terrific video capabilities. Unfortunately, it uses a video format that must be converted to avi, mpeg or something else to be used on YouTube or Facebook but that has been a small inconvenience for me. I have not found anything I can't do with this camera. It has a very powerful zoom for what it is and even on the highest level (15x) of optical zoom (before entering the digital zoom) I can shoot without a tripod. Macro, flash, black and white, action, everything I've tried with it has turned out incredible.

For about 14 months now, I have been using a GE Power Pro X500 for a lot of my photography. I don't like point and shoot camera but, I have to say I loved this one. The GE Power Pro X 500 is a bridge between a DSLR and a point and shoot. I think the GE Power Pro X500 is a great camera, but there are two things I don't like about it. The lens are fixed, and the AF is on all the time. I like to be able to focus on things my self sometimes, and with this camera I can't do that. All and all, for around $140 this is a an awesome camera. The shots are the best I have seen from a non SLR.

I have only taken about 20 pictures so far. The pictures turned out great! The zoom feature allows me to take clear pictures of nature without having to get up close to a bird, plant, or animal. The colors in the picture are wonderful...the red, green, and brown colors of flowers and trees were superior to other point and shoot cameras I have had! The only problem I have had is that when I download it to my computer I get a duplicate of every picture which is annoying but not a serious problem. This is a great camera for the price. I recommend it.

I recieved this camera for my birthday and I loved it ! It works fantastic pictures are always clear and the color is excellent ! The very best camera I have ever owned and i have owned a few like fiji and Kodak digitals but this one is the best by far I give it a 100 % awesome rating ! would and have recommend it to anyone and everyone !

i purchased this camera for making videos and posting them to youtube. so i figured that this camera would be good for taking pictures... which i love to to in my spare time, and i was happy with the quality... and recording movies, but i took about a 5 minute long video. and after 2 mins of reveiwing the video, it would skip. very often. it was like a dvd had a scratch on it. it is just a bad camera for filming videos. so i would definatly recommend this if your just taking pictures. but dont do any filming with this camera!!!

I love this camera! The quality is fantastic and I got it on sale which made it even better! I definitely recommend this camera to anyone looking for a new camera or looking at the X500 specifically. Get it!!
