I just purchased this pedometer and I'm quite impressed. I clipped it to my backpack during a 9.5 mile hike and it accurately counted the distance even though I didn't have it cliped to my belt. I compared the calculated distance to the measurements from the map and it was right on. It automatically senses movement so I didn't have to worry about turning it off and on. It has a lot of features I really haven't taken advantage of, but so far I'm quite happy with my purchase.

Low-end pedometers are just not worth the low cost. Within 2 days, part of the plastic clip broke so the spring was no longer retained. I exchanged it for another of the same model and the same thing happened. Also the digital display "flickered" a bit - loose connections.
I was excited to use this product. I clipped it to my pants as instructed and it was not comfortable. Often times it would not stay on and kept falling til eventually the clip broke and therefore the product became useless since the front cover was attached to the clip and therefore not safe in my pocket since the buttons would be pushed accidently. I suggest that you invest in a more pricey "suggested" product.
