This is an easy product to assemble. The hardware is labeled and organized on a card. The instructions say two people are required, however there is only one area that really needs two people: assembling the console, handles and attaching the post to the main unit. I somehow managed to do it on my own rather than wait, but if someone had been readily available would definitely have opted for assistance on that
Purchased on clearance, had been watching for such a sale to replace the Nordictrak stationary that I had worn out after nearly a decade. It provides me with a challenging workout when I am unable to bike outside. It works some muscles harder than my road bike. It is quiet enough that I am able to watch tv or read. I find the seat comfortable, but bear in mind that I am accustomed to riding a road bike regularly. Some vibration at times, but if one grips the handles it quiets down immediately.

I purchased this bike for my wife, 3 and 1/2 months ago. When we initially received the bike from Sears and assembled it, there was an immediate problem with the tension adjustment. We contacted Nordic Track and they sent out a service person. He adjusted the unit and it was working okay.
Today I went to change the batteries for the console or display. After changing the batteries, the screen lit up, but the screen contained jibberish or would go blank. I checked all the connections and everything was okay.
I contacted Nordic Tracks, so called customer service department and was told that the console had gone bad and would need to be replaced. The 90 day warranty, of course, had just run out and now for the shocker. The console would cost as much as the original price we paid for the bike. After complaining that the bike was not even 4 months old and already had been serviced once and now was basically a useless paper weight, the service rep. said the best he was allowed to do was offer me 20% off the cost of the part. I would just as soon go out and spend the money on a different brand of equipment, than I would pay that amount for one part.
My advice is stay away from this bike and anything made by Nordic Track. I had always thought that Nordic Track was a good brand, but now know I was extremely wrong.

The Console doesn't work properly, it shorts out with batteries or with the ac/adapator that isn't included. The magnetic resistance does not work at all!!! This thing is garbage, horrible customer service, horrible 90 day warrenty. Made in China so that should tell you something! Don't buy!!!! Ever.. not even for free.
quality consciousI purchased this unit for slightly less than $300 (tax included). Assembling it was a difficult process which required multiple calls to customer service. The main issue was that many of the screws are so difficult to drive in. Here is a head's up for future installers: The screws are unnecessarily difficult to drive into the solid plastic because they are not self-tapping and there are no pilot holes.
The water bottle holder is a nice feature, but it made an annoying rattling noise. I fixed this by taking it off and applying weatherstripping between the holder and the bike body. (There's not much of a surface to apply it to, so I used the narrowest stripping I could find--************** "Super Firm Sponge Tape, Closed Cell," 3/8"W.) Now the main rattling comes from inside the body, below the handlebar post. This is from a part of the bike not related to customer's attachment of the post. This is my main complaint with the bike: It doesn't feel well-constructed. It has internal rattles that suggest the design is sub-par or the tolerances are lax or both. The vibrations of those rattles on one's body is annoying. They are not as strong as what one would get from a moderate off-road ride, but much more than you would have with a road bike on a smooth rode.
Other complaints: It takes 4 C-cell batteries and the batteries seem to drain even when the unit isn't being used. We will probably get rechargeable batteries; better would have been to have a wall adapter. Also, I found the seat uncomfortable after a short period of time. Not sure if that's me or the seat. Most gym bike seats have more contours that this one.
When it fails or gets too annoyingly noisy to use, we will probably spend more money and get something sturdier. Purchasing this bike is a bit of a gamble--it may or may not hold up and you may or may not feel it lives to expectations. My advice: get a stand for a road bike you like or pay more and get a better stationary bike.
