ProForm XP 210 Upright Bike February 24, 2012

I purchased this exercise bike because I wanted a compact model so it didn't take up so much space.  This bike fit the bill perfectly.  It is a very solid bike and doesn't move as you ride it. Because I am short I do have a little problem getting on but the bike doesn't tip when I slip one foot into a pedal which is encouraging to me.

It is relatively easy to assemble but took me longer than the salesmans projection of 45 minutes. Everything is easily marked and fits together quickly. I finished it in about 2 hrs. and it seems very sturdy.  It is quiet and easy to ride. I had the opportunity to purchase the more well known Nordic Track for the same price on sale but opted for this bike because of the size of it.  I don't regret making this decision and am happy about the bike.

The Proform XP 210 Upright Bike was a big dissapointment. January 23, 2012

I was considering getting the Norditrac Upright but got this one instead, only because it was in stock. Big mistake. First of all even on it's lowest setting the resistance was too high to maintain at a fast speed for any reasonable amount of time. The seat was also very uncomfortable and I constantly found myself having to use it without sitting down. The handle bars were too far forward which causes you to put enough wait on your wrist that after 15 minutes or so it becomes very uncomfortable. The control panel did not work very well after the second night I kept hearing the speakers go off. I had to remove the batteries after every use to avoid the annoying noise the speakers were making. On the plus side it does not take up much room and is easy to assemble.

What's the deal with the resistance? March 27, 2012
    via Sears.com
    By Ssjm1221 of York, PA

Purchased this bike yesterday. Assembly was not bad, the console so far is exactly what I expected for the price. The problem is, the resistance of the bike is very stiff/difficult. I'm 31, fairly active, run 4 miles 3 days a week. Point being I'm not in terrible shape, but even on the lowest setting I struggle to pedal the bike for more than 20 seconds at a time. It's entirely too much force to keep up for any reasonable or useful amount of time. It cannot possibly be how the bike is meant to be. Especially considering the difference between being on the lowest resistance (1) and the highest (16) seems to be minimal. It's as if the bike has one resistance and it's close to the highest resistance you'd find on a typical bike at your gym. I'm going to give it another try this evening, however I'm feeling that the bike will be returned. Also.. be forewarned that there a power source/cord is not included. It runs on 4 D batteries. I can imagine that it will blow through them as the console does not have an on/off switch. This will get costly very quickly if the bike is used on a daily basis!

Cheaply made, defective on arrival March 15, 2012
    via Sears.com
    By christcrs of Tucson, AZ

The first problem I had with this product is that the threads for the right foot pedal were so badly machined that there was no way to screw the pedal on. An exercise bike doesn't work very well with only one pedal. So I went to a bike store, purchased new pedals. Problem solved, right? No. The first time I used this bike there was a horrible metal scraping noise coming from the rear wheel, which I later discovered to be a broken piece of metal inside the mechanism. In general the construction quality of this bike is very cheap indeed. I am going to do what I should have done in the first place and buy a Schwinn. Needless to say I won't be too eager in the future to buy anything made by Pro-form ever again.

Excellent Bike for the $$$ March 11, 2012
    via Community Review
By nycmartini16 of New Rochelle, NY

I purchased this bike in January and it was the best idea. I hate gyms so this was perfect. I placed it in the living room & ride it every other day. It was easy to assemble and is really quiet which was a must as I'm on the top floor. Excellent buy!

Good workout, good price March 06, 2012
    via Sears.com
    By StefanieLynn of Toledo, OH

We bought this bike in January to have at home for days when making it to the gym are not possible. The bike definitely makes you sweat! The pedals were stiff when we assembled it and I was worried about the resistance, however, after putting batteries in the resistance is what I expected it to be. The bike is solid and well put together (took about 2 hours to assemble - hubby did it on his own). The seat is as comfy as a bike seat could be (LOL!) and the display and iPod plug are great. We work out 6 days a week and have done so for the last 8 years on this routine so the bike is good for us. If you are just beginning your workouts, this bike may be a bit too much for you.
