Highly Recommend It April 13, 2009
My elliptical was just delivered 2 days ago and at first I was overwhelmed by the size of the box, but once I started sorting out all the pieces and read the directions carefully, I was able to put it together by myself, except for connecting the top section with the base where you have to connect the electrical wires. I didn't think that was too shabby for a "girl"! The directions were very clear and easy to follow. It did take me a bit longer to put it together than most reviewers have claimed because I took my time and double checked the directions and the parts before continuing but I believe it paid off in the long run. By Saturday night I was working out and thrilled that I did not have any squeaks or wobbling as some reviewers have indicated. Rather than wait for a power cord to come into the store where I purchased my elliptical, I called NordicTrack directly and they shipped it overnight to me - worth the price of shipping not to have to use 4 D batteries or continue to play the waiting game. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to get a good workout without the hassle of going to a gym.

Don't waste your money May 18, 2009
I have now had two of these. Assembly was VERY difficult due to poor quality parts which did not line up correctly. I had parts break during assembly. The parts in question appear to be very cheaply manufactured. NordicTrack sent me replacement parts under warranty for the first unit. However, they charged me shipping for the parts. The new parts were impossible to install because the old parts could not be removed without special tools. I wish that they had told me that over the phone. Sears, who have great customer service by the way, replaced the unit at no additional charge. Now, the second unit also needs parts during assembly. I called NordicTrack again, who now wants to charge me for the parts as I have used my "one time free parts" warranty on the other machine. What horrible customer service from NordicTrack. They didn't even try to make it right. I have wasted a lot of time and effort on these machines, and still don't have anything that I can use. I will be making a call to Sears customer service department and returning it for my money back. My advice is to steer clear of this model and NordicTrack overall.

cheaply made,breaks often,not dependableThis thing has broken so many times now. I had to have the whole control unit replaced, the bars that connect the arm to the feet replaced 3 times, got sick of that and had them welded when they broke for the 4th time. Now the bar that runs the length that connects the back to the sliding wheel in the front cracked. Super cheap metal. I would NOT buy another nordic track, EVER.

Within 4 months two major items broke. The first one was a weld broke off where the arm connects to the bar that the foot pedal is on. The second was the plastic bushing that the bar connects to the flywheel broke off and now the bar slides off and falls to the ground if you try to exercize. Sears won't take the machine back becasue it's past the 90 days and Nordic Track will only replace the parts, not qualify this as a defective machine. I'm 5'10" 155lbs and used this machine 6 days a week for 60 minutes each time. Stay away from this machine in particular, and Nordic Track and Sears in general if you think you may have a warranty issue.

When we first assembled the 800 there were a few factory defects. The Sears close to my home was nice enough to assemble another for me so I could check it out before I exchanged the old one. They were very helpful, and so far my new machine works great.
