After comparing the elipticals to traditional treadmills, my husband and I both felt we'd get a better work-out with an eliptical. After comparing the elipticals at our Sears store, we decided on this one. Our salesman was very helpful and, upon his advice, we also purchased the warranty. This warranty also included assembly, so we didn't have to worry about any of the horror stories I read in other reviews. We've had it for nearly a month now and have had absolutely no problems. We're very pleased with the purchase and have the peace of mind knowing that our warranty will not only cover repairs, but it will also cover yearly "check-up's" for it!

Poor quality of construction January 13, 2009
I bought this just over a month ago and assembled it in a couple of hours. The equipment is slightly wobbly, and to make it worse the external power supply doesn't work! Within a few seconds of starting to use the equipment, the console invariably flickers off and loses its settings. After much frustration, I discovered that as an alternative you can install 4 "D" type batteries in the console. This worked, however I'm still very disappointed with this equipment.

Bought this elliptical two years ago, and have been continually dissapointed. The console has never worked properly, it was difficult to assemble, and the flywheel on the inside of the machine came undone last week. I just bought a new treadmill, and refused to consider any nordic track regardless of perceived value (due to sales, etc.) because this is such a clunker. I'll never buy a nordic track product again.

We bought this elliptical in March 2009. Installation was not simple, but with the right tools can be done in about 1-3 hours. When I say right tools, I mean that you need a couple of things that they don't tell you in the instructions. The instructions do not say that you should have a wrench, but need one to attach the pedals (as far as I can tell). The instructions suggest that you need a rubber hammer, but I never encountered this need. We did have a problem with the electronic equipment, but ICON Fitness was very responsive and got a replacement to us rather quickly (it said back order but shipped same day). You should not contact Sears, as indicated in the instruction booklet, but rather you should contact ICON (I suppose the parent company of NordicTrack). The elliptical works great and we've had no problems using it. Good deal for the price.
