Recently, I was at my local Sears store and found a GOLD MINE. They were clearing out some older floor models and recently returned ellipticals and treadmills. Some of them looked really bad and like they were beat up for 89 days (just under 90 day return policy) and returned. I found this Nordictrack among the heap and it was assembled and almost brand new as it had been a floor model. I purchased the machine for $383 plus tax. It came with the return policy of 90 days, all manuals, the iFit card and the power cord. The machine works well after 2 weeks and I'm really happy with my purchase. Had this model been at full price, I probably would not have purchased it as it was out of my price range. This machine has wheels and it is fairly easy to roll around but you do have to pick up the back end to activate the wheel motion so it won't roll around while you are using it. It is heavy, so if you have a bad back or shoulders, I wouldn't attempt to roll it around by yourself. The one downfall is that once assembled, the machine is NOT easy to manuever around your home if you have narrow hallways and tight turns. We didn't even attempt to disassemble to get it where we wanted, we just put it somewhere else. It fits easily on a 3' by 6'equipment mat. Do not purchase a vinyl equipment mat, they smell horrible!! So overall, I believe this product is of good quality, easy to use, and an excellent way to burn off some stress and donuts from work. I highly recommend ellipticals for anyone who needs a low impact workout that still provides a GOOD workout (I have a bad knee and a bulging disc in my spine and it works WELL for me). Happy exercising!

This elliptical trainer is time consuming to put together, but the instructions are staightforward. You will need two "strong" people to put this together. I had initially paid extra to have the machine assembled, I was not informed that Sear's does not have someone to assemble this product in my area until after I placed the order. This machine is a very good workout, it is smooth, incline ramp is a good feature. The problem with the machine came about three weeks after set up and about 9 total uses. In the middle of a workout the link arm started rubbing against the left side shield. All service must go directly through Nordictrack. When I called I was told that a fee applies to both the part and service, the total of both comes to about $60. After I protested that I only had the machine for 3 weeks, they did waive the fee. They did inform me that waiving the fees was a one time thing and in the future all fees would apply. (I have dealt with two different people at NordicTrack, one was helpful and the other unpleasant) I was told by customer service that I should purchase the extended warranty for $180 and I would not have to pay the fees if in the future the machine required service. The problem with the extended warranty is that for the first year of owning this machine all service is covered by the one year limited warranty and all service and part fees will apply. It has been two weeks since my elliptical trainer broke. I am expecting the part to arrive in a couple of days and I have been given the name and number of the repairman I should call when the part arrives.
Serious about cardioI have had this model eliptical for 2 1/2 years. During that time it has required 2 link arms, 4 circuit boards, 2 display screens, a complete new eletrical system and numerous bearings, screws, and washers, etc. If I hadn't purchased the extended warranty, this machine would have cost me at least three times what I originally paid for it.
If you are serious about your exercise, look for another machine. If you want a machine to use while you work through your new year's resolution and then put in the garage to gather dust, this is the machine for you. I use a cardio machine 4 to 5 times a week for 50 to 60 minutes a time. This eliptical will not hold up to frequent use. It is just not durable or well constructed for a serious exercise program.
The customer service people at Icon and the Icon extended warranty customer service people are abrupt, rude and very hard to deal with. I've only spoken to one person since I've had this machine that ever said they were sorry for my problem! The 'customer service' people are just not customer oriented. You will wait 7 to 10 days for parts shipments. Then wait a week for the in home service people to get in touch and set up an appointment. Then the parts sent are not the right or complete for the specific repair problem and you start the process over again.
If you are serious about your cardio exercise don't waste your time with this machine, it's not worth the money no matter how cheap the price.
I scored when I went to the local Sears Outlet looking for a refrigerator. I also found this awesome elliptical. I've been eying it online and in the stores and couldn't stomach buying it at full price. It was a floor model, but you can't even see any wear and tear. It works awesome so far. The best part was that it was already put together and delivered that way! All I had to do was tighten the screws.
